Initial set up is easy, even wifi but, our internet went out and had to reset the wifi and the smoker wouldn't connect back to the wifi while I was in the middle of a smoke. Bluetooth tooth range is poor so it made the rest of my smoke difficult.

So far the XXL has been just wonderful. Keeps temp great and the product comes out so juicy and tasty. So far I've done a couple racks of ribs, a couple of whole chickens, and some pork belly burnt ends. Up next some sausages (which you can hang since it's a vertical and it comes with sausage hooks) and some salmon. Everything is included with this, you got regular grates and wire grates and hooks and so much surface area. It's probably a bit overkill in size unless you're feeding your neighborhood so I don't use most of the racks but I love all the additional room inside - makes putting things in an taking them out really easy. The PID controller is awesome and having separate smoke and temp controls is fantastic. Downside is the hopper is small. And the app was really buggy at first but the latest version seem to be better. Overall this is one legit smoker.

My GMC smoker had trouble getting up to temp in cold weather. This XXL despite single wall construction has no problem getting up to temp when cooking in 30 degree weather. The only thing I added was a gasket around the front door to improve sealing. Highly recommend this smoker for cooking salmon ,you can smoke low and slow right at 150 with tons of space.

Horrible temp control. I set it at 215, and it just keeps going up to 300+. The controller doesn't work, the pellet feeder doesn't work. Terrible machine.

I bought this smoker took it home and put together. It is made very cheap and thin. After I put it together I read the instructions and it tells you to smoke the oils off of it. So I set the temperature and did this within 10 minutes it turned itself off. The smoker would not let me turn it back on. I unplugged the machine and re-plugged in nothing. I then called the company to troubleshoot a brand new machine that was only a few hours old. The company did try a few things and nothing worked. Then the company finally told me that they think the main board went on the machine. They offered for me to get a new one, which they would mail to me. Who knows how long this would take. So I would have a brand new smoker that I can not use until I get the new part. Once I got the new part I would have to put the part in myself. I decided against this and took the smoker back. I don’t think I should have to put a part in a brand new smoker. This was a LEMON. I would not recommend this smoker at all. Also if you buy anything from the company’s website and want to return it, YOU pay shipping back to the company, which I don’t think is correct.
