  • Sturdy & Compact
Size: 5.3 Gallon Pattern Name: Travel Toilet
I ordered this before going to our cabin in CO. We have a primitives outhouse, however I do not care for the insects, smell and darkness of the outhouse! I was able to set this up myself, easy to pour in the water and just drop in a tab to reduce smell. The toilet flushes with ease, minimal splash and no smell. I was able to empty the black tank and rinse with no issues. ... show more

  • Does what is intended!
Size: 5.3 Gallon Pattern Name: Travel Toilet
For those of you who are embarrassed by the truth of going potty please don't read this. This will be descriptive within reason. Bought this recently so my wife didn't have to go dig a hole out in the wilderness to use the bathroom. She also has IBS so sitting there digging a hole is not fun when an episode kicks in. Before we went out to use it, I thought to take it myself and give it a go. Setup is easy and not very heavy even with the 3 gallons pre-filled before the trip. The two halves clamp together with no issues and from the dry testing I did it seems to have a good seal. Going #1 outside is a breeze for guys right so I sat in this thing to somewhat simulate a women going and well it wasn't to bad. All the waste goes where it should without splashing all over the place. If your a guy and would like to go in this rather than walking out of the tent then I would warn that you likely will get some splashing. To reduce this, flush it a couple times so water is filled into what I called the exit hole area. Then just aim right and it wont make much of a mess. For the ladies this should be no problem at all. Open the latch to the holding take and away the waste goes. Close the lid and ready for the next usage. Going #2 is fine so as long as it is a normal one. As recommended by another user, just pre-flush so the sides are lubed up a little to avoid sticking. If you are one of those power poopers who have those that crest the water normally then you might want to open up the latch to allow for room but it will stink up some obviously. If you have explosive then you might want to shower after cause there is no way that it will not splash up on you, sorry just the truth here. (Update 11/11/21: Works fine for the runs, just open the latch to prevent splashing.) This does seal up really good so no worries about smell while it is not in use. Obviously, once the latch is opened you will get a whiff of what is in there but typically you can just hold your breath while that happens until shut. Update 11/11/21: The black water tablets used for RVs work wonders in this. Breaks all down to liquid. Makes cleanup EASY but still gross. Cleanup was not hard but was pretty disgusting. The tablets included do a good job at breaking stuff up to a nice think liquid. I just dumped it all out in the toilet and all was well. I didn't have to use gloves as you can hold it in such a way that your hands will not be in the way of the dumping. Get it close to the toilet bowl to avoid splashing. You will need to put in fresh water a couple times to swirl around to clean up residual waste sticking around the wall of the inner holding tank. Once all that is done, you can go outside and use the hose to clean it up even better. Over all did what it was supposed to do and other than an easier way of dumping and cleaning will give this a 5 star. ... show more

  • Live in a garage w/o plumbing this is essential!
Size: 5.3 Gallon Pattern Name: Travel Toilet
I live in a garage without plumbing so a toilet like this that works properly and doesn’t leak is essential. I was a little iffy after having bought four other toilets from other companies that all leaked and then I saw this one and I did read one comment with a complaint of leaking so I was excruciatingly worried going into this. However this is the best toilet by far! We use it daily and it does NOT leak at all! Also comparing to toilets of the past this one is amazing because so far having owned it a couple of months when you flush it does NOT spray water back at you which is amazing. (For people that do have that problem just keep the toilet seat down and don’t get a toilet cover and clean frequently) The other huge plus is that a toilet seat cover can also be fitted for comfort on this model as seen in pictures, a standard sized one, and it’s easy to remove and wash. Got one on vipon for a couple dollars using the amazon code from vipon. It really helps with the feel that this is a real toilet with plumbing. As for dumping I love this toilet, for how it doesn’t have a fold out spout which in my experience usually becomes a leaking problem in the future. This one is just a screw off cap for easy disposal of wastes. We do not go number two in this, but walk the distance to a house with plumbing for that. We do however go number one (pee) in this everyday for over two months and a family of three with guests every now and then and it works great! The seal that you push open to flush is just wonderful and that it doesn’t even leak through. With my old toilet the urine would drain down into the basin before I even opened the lever to flush it down and this one does not. It stays put only until you flush. That is very nice. The flusher on this toilet is really nice but if I had to think of one thing negative, it would be that this flusher doesn’t always adequately flush it on one flush. (Which is one pump pushing down) It’s a small Vice, but totally workable but basically you just have to flush or pump the flusher a couple of times especially if you did a small pee when there is more toilet paper than pee. **Advice to those that have never owned one of these: Make sure you thoroughly flush toilet paper down the hatch into the basin. Talk to your kids and make sure of this because speaking with experience it’s really bad for the toilet paper to get caught in the gasket and that’s when sometimes leaking or draining problems ensue. ** Just make sure all toilet paper is throughly flushed well.**. **Another tip is if using daily always dump on the third day. You don’t want it to get too full. In my experience that is another reason for leaking problems when letting the tank get too full. ** I will be giving an update if I have any issues. Highly recommend this toilet! Hope this helps someone, as I wish someone would of told me this. ... show more
