Just follow the instructions properly. May take a day or two for all air bubbles to escape. Comes with remote control so you can adjust all the colors to your liking. Wife asks me what I want for my 31st birthday and I said "a fishtank!!" , we agreed it would not be practical right now and i deicded to browse The Amazon for fake fishtanks. Saw several jellyfish ones and realized i wanted jellyfish now. I am absolutely in LOVE with it. 4 people so far have asked if they are real because they move like real jellyfish do and they look like them!!! (Kinda feel like them too!) I love getting a good deal as well so it was like getting two birthday gifts haha. This was on sale for $19.99 vs. $39.99 regular price. I would happily pay $39.99 for this after seeing how cool and realistic it is...sometimes its just hard to tell which is why im.posting photos and a video so people can see how cool it is! Now for some Tips...fill with distilled water..do not use nasty tap water full of stuff that will clog the bubbly system (its 88 cents a gallon,no excuses to skip this part!!!) Then add 3 to 4 drops of GOOD QUALITY dish soap like Dawn, dollar tree stuff probably won't work. Let the machine run for 5mins before putting the jellyfish in and tighten them in your hand so there is no air under their little heads or they will just float. And pull out the tiny plastic piece on the remote which is kinda hard to see before you start panicking about it working. It runs for 8hs on its own then shuts off. We keep this on 24hs a day now. Excellent nightlight for the living room and still cool during the day!! The blue and milder blue colors are the only ones I use because they look most like water ,the red looks creepy so I will do that for Halloween! Posting a video on Facebook bragging about Peanut butter and Jelly (their names) has sent 3 people so far to buy this exact product as I dropped the link for them so they get THIS specific product. Final thing..the noise...i actually wish it was noisier! I had a fake fishtank like this that held 20 CDs on it growing up and it was loud..this you can barely hear and its on my end of the couch which i lay next to at night watching TV. So its a good thing its so quiet. Its been going 24/7 for exactly 7 days now and its down half inch of water which is impressive for living in "its a dry heat" Arizona. Im not sure when to add more drops of dish soap but im thinking once a month and i will replace the water every 3mos. It probably says it in the instruction booklet but i was too excited to read everything in it hahaha. Great for all ages. I am 31, and 3 of the people that thought they were real and think it looks great and decorative are over 50 ,haven't shown it to any kids but im sure they would love it. Even my 11 month old golden retriever sometimes gets lost in the moment watching Peanut Butter and Jelly(fish),its cute. So age 9 to 99 would love this. Could even see it being helpful in assisted living as a nightlight and a "pet" they dont have to take care of and conversation piece. Kitty cat will love this thing! I'm hoping customer service comes through. I received my tank today and everything works except the water pump. Makes for a very dull display. I emailed support and I'm hoping to get a replacement ASAP since this is a Christmas gift...for my cat. Yep for my cat. She deserves awesome stuff too! Word of advice...test your lamp ahead of time. Positives: The tank is much taller and wider than I expected. It's going to be awesome when it works. The LED's have tons of colors and flash patterns. The jellies are very wiggly which is good. I was hoping not get some stiff, cheap plastic animals. I really wanted this to work. When I get my replacement I'll come back to review again. ... show more

    • Looks cheap and sounds annoying.
This lamp could be great, but in real life is overpriced for what it really is. The jellyfishes look terribly cheap, and the tank pump makes such an annoying noise when nothing else is sounding around. Also, it stops working after 8 hours of use. So if you’re intended to use it as a decoration piece, keep in mind it will turn itself off and you’re gonna have to keep turning it on after a certain time. For what it offers it is really overpriced and there are better jellyfish tank lamps around for the same price or even cheaper. ... show more

    • JELLYFISH FLOAT TO TOP - FIXED!
I've had my Jellyfish lamp for 5 1/2 months. The jellyfish would often just float to the top of the lamp because they had air bubbles in them. Well - NO MORE! What you need to do is run the lamp for 5 minutes without the fish. As you are doing this it helps to jostle (bump) the lamp to help get all of the tiny air bubbles to float to the top. If you don't, the air bubbles will eventually dislodge from the bottom/side of the lamp and get caught inside the jellyfish - forcing them to the top. During that initial 5 minute run, it helps to turn off and on the lamp once or twice - seems to help rid it of bubbles. When you put the fish in the lamp, be sure to place the (already wet) fish upside down (assuring that there are no air bubbles). Voila!!! No more floating dead fish. One thing the creators could do to improve the lamp is to make the remote sensor more sensitive. You need to be very close to the lamp in order for the remote to work. ... show more

I bought this months ago. At the time, it was $19.99, which was very reasonable. These things tend to be way overpriced for what they are. However, I love this lamp! The jellyfish swim around gracefully and the colors are kind of neon. They show up very well. It's very quiet. I'm one of those people that like white noise. I wouldn't mind if it were louder. I have a bigger one and it's much much louder than this one. It does shut off after 8 hours, but it's not really that annoying, 8 hours is a long time. If you leave it on when you go to bed, it's nice that there is a shut-off feature. It does have a hole where the water goes with a plug. I haven't had any issues with it. I also haven't had to change the water yet. I think it's awesome. ... show more

We have had this jellyfish lamp for a month, and so far it has worked flawlessly. Follow the preparation instructions--use distilled water and soak the jellyfish in a plain dish liquid. I used Palmolive clear. Also love how big the lamp is for the price paid!
