Our last borosilicate pour over coffee pot met an untimely end when something fell out of a cabinet and knocked it to the floor. This one has a flat bottom, so it’s much more stable, and the neck is wide enough to get my hand in to give it a good scrub (though a chain mail scrubber is also super useful for cleaning it).     • Kind of works as Brim replacement carafe
As others have said, this sort of works as a replacement carafe for the Brim coffeemaker. It doesn't sit totally flat on the plate, and it doesn't come up quite as high (so there's more splashing)--but it's better than having to throw out my expensive Brim. The silicone sleeve fits kind of loosely and is pretty ugly. ... show more

For the price you can't beat this little guy. It does have a few issues. I also wasn't aware the metal mesh filter was plastic. I recommend using paper filters with the metal mesh screen. You could probably get away with no filter on a course grind, just know you're going to have a little silt in your brew. The glass also feels very thin. ... show more

This was a replacement for a broken carafe on my Brim auto drip coffee maker. The carafe works pretty well...a bit short so there is some splashing out of the water, but it holds the same number of ounces. I never use the permanent filter included, as it contains plastic. I purchased my own stainless permanent filter on Amazon some time ago, and it works great. I try to stay away from all things plastic, especially when you're pouring hot water through every morning. I would think more chemicals would leach into your coffee as a result of the hotter water. ... show more

    • Great Carafe. We really like it
We bought one of these when we were traveling in our RV. There was little counter space, so we left the coffee maker behind and used the tea kettle and this Carafe to make morning coffee for me (Allison drinks tea). I broke the first one and so we eventually bought a second one. On both of them, I have removed the little handle from the mesh filter as it gets in the way. I use a #4 paper filter which makes disposing of the grounds much easier. Would recommend this carafe to anyone. When I eventually break this one, I will buy another one just like it. ... show more

    • Does not fit Brim coffee maker
This item was listed as a buy with suggestion for the Brim Coffee Maker. I have a Brim and the carafe broke and now I need a replacement. This product is not a suitable replacement as the base is too wide to fit in the carafe well on the base which causes it to be unstable.
