I purchased this for a kitchen remodel. It was going to be put under a cabinet at a beverage station for 'adult drinks'. This location is in between the living room and dining room. Unfortunately, when the compressor runs it is VERY loud, distractingly loud. While watching a movie, it really kills the ambiance if you’re watching a romantic movie. You literally have to turn the volume up on the TV to drown out the fridge. After only one month, the electrician unplugged it to move it and when he went to plug it back in, there was nothing. It was broken. Fortunately for me, he gave me the $$ for it and I replaced it with a different one. Happy ending for me; hope you can have one too. ... show more

It just for wine anymore! Home cheese makers rated this unit well for people making and aging their cheese at home. Cheese is best aged between 50-55 F, too cool for the kitchen counter and too warm for the fridge. The range of this unit is perfect. I put a bowl of water in the bottom to get the right humidity as I was experimenting. I was pleased that my cheese aging boxes fit perfectly in the grooves after I removed the wine racks. So far pretty happy with this wine cooler. I normally don’t write reviews, i am for this since this is a bigger ticket item. The noise is noticeable at times, but it doesn’t bother me. It is nice have a larger capacity, coming from a cooler that could only hold 8 bottles. The reason I went with this cooler is that it has a lock, I really wish the lock was on the side or the top. Big plus, it was packaged nicely and easy to unbox. Overall very happy-hope it lasts as long as my previous cooler-7 years. Hope this review helps. ... show more

I've had this for about a month now and really like it at this point. It is very quiet and does the job it's suppose to do. Since wine bottles vary in size you're probably not going to be able to get five bottles on each shelf. Sometimes you can and sometimes you cannot. It was worth the money in my opinion. ... show more

    • Quite noisy .. and cycles often .. good design/size.
If you are looking for a low-noise wine cooler, I would check other options before settling on this one. I was unpleasantly surprised by the high noise level from this cooler - I even felt that my main kitchen refrigerator is less noisy. Noise measurement - 35 dB next to the cooler door. The issue is aggravated by the fact that this cooler has to keep cycling often (poor insulation perhaps?). I kept its settings at default (42F) and the room temperature is usually 70F - and the cooler cycles very often - more often than my main kitchen refrigerator. Dimensions-wise - it is well-designed. I had other wine coolers in the past, and this one can store more bottles for the same outside dimensions. The spec says 34 bottles, however, the shelves can fit either 5 narrow wine bottles or 4 typical champagne ones - so I was able to store about 30 mixed bottles in total. Overall - 3 stars .. 5 for the fit/design; 3 for the temp control; 1 for the noise. ... show more
