Got this bed rail for my mom. She recently had surgery and needs some help getting out of bed. This rail was easy and fast to assemble. I didn't permanently fix it to the bed - I just slipped it between the mattress and box spring. It's very sturdy and hasn't budged. There's a nice grip on it so you're not grabbing onto a metal bar. The light is a great idea (though I haven't actually attached mine yet). This rail isn't just for people who've had surgery or elderly people - it's for anyone who could use a hand getting up. Great value too.

easy assembly, sturdy, perfect height to fit by my shoulder, between nightstand , yet still reach over for drink and through for things flat on table. The little light can dim low and set to motion, lights up entering the room and getting out of bed. Perfect assist device.

My mother in law has been falling out of bed. This helps steady her before climbing in. Only reason why it is 4 star was it did not come with a light & the box was busted up pretty bad.

Very simple to "install" and use to get into/out of bed. No big mess of equipment, no assembly. Very sturdy for this 5'6", 73 yr old soul. I didn't add on the light that came with it. Though it seems to work just fine, I have no need for it so stashed it away just in case.

This rail is very helpful for anyone needing stability getting out of bed. It also helps to keep the patient from falling out of bed. The directions tell you to attach it to the frame but I have found it works very well just pushing the supporting bars under the mattress. It’s much easier to change the bed by removing it and replacing it when the bed is made.

This assistive rail is very sturdy. It was easy to assemble and has height adjustments for thicker/thinner mattress's. The motion activated light has 3 on modes: always on, night motion, & all time motion. The light is rechargeable and uses standard USB-C. It is held in place with two magnets so you can easily take it off to recharge. Overall this is a great product. The only thing I think could change is the cable length. A little longer would be nice but that’s just me being picky.

On other variants on this unit the welds do not completely encircle the joint connecting the horizontal and vertical sections. On this variant they do. On this variant you can see in the closeups that the welds completely encircle the connection. Don't be fooled, you will want the higher quality welds like on this variant to prevent catastrophic failure.
