I recently bought a new mattress and bed frame. I kind of splurged on a hybrid mattress because I’m old and everything hurts, but I cheaped out on the bed frame and got one with widely spaced, thin metal support bars. My mattress wasn’t really sagging, but it just didn’t have the consistent feel I expected and I could see indents forming on the bottom of my mattress where the metal bars were slowly sinking into it and potentially shortening its lifespan. So I ordered the Xenohuaxis Bunkie Board King 10mm (76x 80),Bed Support Board to better support my mattress. When I received it, I was surprised that it was fairly lightweight and folded into a relatively small space. I was relieved that it didn’t have any noticeable smell. It came in two identical pieces. I got the King size and it fit my bed frame perfectly. They laid perfectly flat, too. I wasn’t sure if the grippy side should face down or face up. I ended up facing them down so they would grip the frame, because my frame does not have any grippy parts on it. That works great. The boards don’t slide around at all and the friction between the fabric on the boards and the fabric on my mattress keeps my mattress in place just fine. I was concerned about whether the board would hold our weight – my husband and I are about 500 lbs both put together. So far it is holding up just fine. I can really notice a difference. My mattress feels more stable and more supportive in the right places. I actually woke up this morning without incredibly stiff hips, which is a first for me in several months. My only minor complaint, and it’s just a pet peeve of mine, is that I wish it came with instructions. Even if it’s just really basic and maybe I don’t actually follow them, at least I know where to start from. Things like whether the grippy side is supposed to face down or up, and how to remove and wash the cover, if it is even supposed to be removed or washed. That kind of thing. This bunkie board is good quality, easy to put in place, and improved the function of my mattress and I think will increase the longevity of it too. So, I am giving it 5 stars. It is also a great value for the price at the time of this review.

My bed frame didn't come with any supports and I just shoved some 2x4s in there to hold it up but they always shifted around or fell. These boards didn't look like much but they really helped to stabilize my bed and keep the boards from shifting around constantly. Plus my mattress doesn't sag. The texture on the one side helps to keep things together and the set of two folding board sets make it easy to install under the mattress. It's such a simple product but it really makes a difference. If youve got trouble with your bed slats or mattress situation I'd definitely recommend trying this out.

This is a review of the XENOHUASIS branded Bunkie Board. This one is a polypropylene board 0.4 inch thick rather than a 1 to 3 inch wood board.. It is folded at delievery and when unfolded provide rigid support directly under a mattress. This allows a mattress to lie flat with no sagging areas if the frame or box spring has lost support. Advantage: It overcomes broken springs and distributes weight more evenly. May be less noisy than a box spring. Makes worn parts of mattress more supportive and less likely to sag. Overcomes sagging in some wide gap slats. Disadvantage: Lacks the bounce and shock absorption of a box spring and does not lift bed height like a box spring does Variable based on preferance: Bunkie Board keeps bed height lower to ground which some like (others do not). Mattress will feel noticiably firmer. Some will like these above features but there are positives and negatives using a bunkie board in place of a mattress springs.
