Wow! This machine is a beast! So I had recently shampooed my carpets with the shark shampooer. That thing put down more than ot can suck up, my carpets were soggy with one pass!!! This Bissel had my carpets so dry so quick! I used the express mode as my carpets are fairly new and had as stated above recently cleaned. It worked so well. I didn't use the shampoo it came with because I'm obsessed with Rocco and Roxies brand which is where I saw this machine (from thier ad). I loved how easy it was to manuever. It left beautiful carpet lines that actually made it easy to see where I need to keep the machine for passes and where I've already cleaned. The brushroll and cover are easy to remove and clean. I'm so happy it came with the tool to get up in the cover to really get it clean as new. One thing I dislike but not enough to lower stars, is that the tanks can't be thoroughly dried so I can't put machine back together right away. I bought this same model about 5 years ago and it worked great, only broke because one of my dogs chewed the power cord. I am very happy with this newer version, it isn't as loud but still is the best way to clean up pet messes. My carpet has lasted so much longer thanks to this carpet cleaner. The formula is pricey but you can use cheaper ones or even mix your own - I did this for years with my old one with no issues. But their formula really has the best results on pet messes. ... show more

I have 2 toddler and dogs in a house with WAAAAAY too much carpeting. I rely heavily on a carpet cleaner to keep my home looking and smelling nice. I use it monthly. My previous shampooer was almost 20 years old when it finally broke and I think it would have lasted longer if it were easier to take apart and deep clean. This one does a great job and is easy to use. I can easy rinse it after use and when I do feel like it needs to be taken apart and properly cleaned, I can do so quickly. That said, it seems cheaply made. I dropped the dirty water tank while popping it back in (empty and only about a foot off the ground) and the plastic gasket cracked. Now the suction isn't as good. I'm still happy with the results, but I need to start thinking about how to replace that part. ... show more

Lightweight for a deep cleaner, easy to put together, easy to use, and does what it says it will. It removes pet stains as well as everyday dirt. It comes with simple but very helpful cleaning tools to insure that the unit does not become clogged with pet hair or carpet fibers. Always vacuum with a regular vacuum first before using any shampoo or deep clean unit. This machine is a good value for the price and so much more convenient than running to the market to rent a carpet cleaner. This thing is great. It's much more convenient than renting one, and you'll recover your money after a few uses. I suggest you read the following notes and copy them for your own use. - Buy a large bottle of the Pro cleaner (shown in picture). The samples provided won't last long. - Thoroughly vacuum the area you're going to clean just before shampooing with the strongest vacuum cleaner you own. - Plan how you're going to do the work so that you don't have to walk on the carpet afterward. - You don't need to shampoo the places where no one goes, such as under beds, cabinets, etc... You're focusing on "traffic lanes". - Take the cleaning tank off and fill it with hot water. - Pour cleaner in cleaner cap up of the large bottle to about ⅓ full and add to the tank. - Turn the vac on, hold the spray trigger, do one pass forward and one pass back at 1ft/sec, which is the normal pace of vacuuming (the spraying function happens when you push the vac forward and the recovery function when you pull it back towards you). - Release the spray trigger and do several other passes back and forth until the liquid stops flowing through the see-thru head. - When the motor whines at a higher pitch, turn the vac off (even if there's cleaning fluid left and the recovery tank doesn't look full) and dump the recovery tank into a toilet. If you keep going without dumping the recovery tank you'll notice nothing is flowing through the see-thru head; you have to dump the tank! - When the cleaning tank runs out, fill it up and dump the recovery tank while you're at it. - Wear some sort of hearing protection. The vac is loud and it will eventually get on your nerves. - Keep an old towel handy to clean up drips. If you don't know this yet, you'll realize the huge benefit of wearing slippers or house shoes indoors, instead of walking around in street shoes. The carpet should be dry to the touch in about 8 hours, max. If it's wet longer than that, you probably moved too slowly and saturated the carpet and possibly the padding under it, which is undesirable. ... show more
