Don't get me wrong. I really did like the Anycubic Kobra S1 but just before the return date something went wrong with the print head. No amount of rebooting would fix it. The printhead would slam itself all the way to the left side and would strain itself by clicking trying to still move left. You couldn't stop it until you turned off the system rebooted it and tried again. But the something happened over and over again. So, I returned it. Only because they couldn't replace it. I got my refund and reorder another one

This is an awesome printer when it works and it is Anycubic’s attempt to copy the much more expensive mainstream 3d printer. However I deeply regret buying it directly from Anycubic, or at all: within 70 days of purchasing it, parts started to go bad: the extruder, a control board, the display and the printer crashed mid print into my base plate and damaged it. Anycubic was adamant that they would not replace or repair it but instead are shipping all of these delicate parts for me to replace myself and hope for the best. I already know that springs fall off when you replace the extruder and cables can be sliced by fastening screws so am unhappy about the support. Anycubic will not replace the printer and I am now waiting for a technician to come back from vacation (i kid you not) just in order to diagnose the display. Meanwhile it will likely be the only printer in my farm that will be down for at least 3 weeks. This is not how you support a flagship product and I will not be buying from Anycubic in the future not recommend my print farm or university to invest in this brand.

The AnyCubic Kobra S1 is a solid 3D printer that offers great value for the price. While it may require some research and fine-tuning to achieve optimal results, its print quality is excellent—comparable to that of Bambu Lab printers. The build is sturdy, and setting up Wi-Fi is straightforward, though it only supports 2.4GHz networks. But I bought my AnyCubic Kobra S1 about four months ago. It worked well overall, though there were a few minor things that could be better. Recently, I started getting errors about a blockage and filament flow issues. I'm not very mechanically inclined, but I followed all the troubleshooting steps from AnyCubic support and didn’t find any problems. One of the steps involved disassembling the extruder, which was tricky. There are tiny parts that can easily pop off and get lost in the carpet or under furniture—just like what happened to me. I ended up needing to order replacements. AnyCubic support is helpful, but you’re mostly on your own when it comes to diagnosing the issue. I think the extruder and hot end should be redesigned to be more user-friendly—ideally plug-and-play—with fewer small, easy-to-lose parts exposed during repairs. Would I buy the AnyCubic Kobra S1 again? Probably not—at least not until some key issues are addressed. While the price is appealing, I’d recommend spending a bit more for the Bambu Labs P1S. It has better support and a stronger online community, which makes a big difference in the long run.
