Gave the shears a workout on a few trees and bushes. I was able to cut branches over 1" thick, although it did take two or three swipes, which is understandable. The design is great, as well as the features. They are super powerful and can be dangerous if you're careless with them. They would cut off a finger as easily as a branch, so I wouldn't let kids anywhere near them. The Dewalt batteries I have, which are clones, work perfectly. Funny, the batteries have a built-in flashlight, but they are facing rearward since the battery slides in from the front. All in all a nice tool that I'd buy again and recommend to friends or family.

These power shears are fantastic. I have 6 Milwaukee 18 volt batteries but Milwaukee doesn’t make a power shear for their 18 volt batteries. I tried this power shear because it’s supposed to work with Milwaukee 18 volt batteries. I couldn’t be happier, it worked great. I used a medium sized 3 amp hour battery and cut thumb sized limbs for about 4 hours. No change in performance from start to finish. When I was done , my charge indicator light on my battery was only down one increment. I liked it so much, I just ordered another as a Christmas present for a good friend.

My first pruners worked awesome for a few small projects, about 100 cuts. One week later, it only made beeping noise. I was sent another pruner and had another problem. This time the pruner had a 4 month break between trimming projects. The jaws move a few times and then the pruner turns off on its own. I've tried three different batteries that work well on other tools. These are a waste of time and money. I've spent nearly as much time on the tool as I have using the tool! $50 for a "one time use" tool!

After years of using pruners and getting blisters and sore hands...I found this beauty that fits my Makita batteries. I have trimmed trees and brush for weeks and it still works great. So..I stated on clearing buckthorn in the wooded area of our property. I even cut some barbed wire I found and a piece of old fencing.
