Due to all the rain, I used the new pruners for the first time yesterday morning on a Bosc pear and Rainier cherry. The pruners sliced easily through both water suckers and dead twigs, up to and a little over 1/2" diameter. Easy to thread into the canopy. Made nice sharp cuts, just where I wanted them, faster than I could squeeze hand pruners. My wrists, back, and arms were way less tired when done, and it took me about 30% less time than last year for the two trees. Think I got better canopy shapes since it was so easy to make cuts. After disinfecting the blades with rubbing alcohol, found the pruners made fast work of a gangling rhododendron too. Found it worked best to work the trigger with glove off, using my other hand gloved to disentangle branches as needed. It did take a couple readings of the manual Operations paragraph and some trial and error to get the hang of how to put the blades in the desired state e.g. open ready to cut, or shut down. I also had to wrestle the battery into the slot, but suspect that issue will resolve with wear. The battery was still going strong after my work session. The pruner comes with two batteries, a charger wall wart, spare blades, little tools, and a nice case with manual. Great deal for such a useful tool. Weather willing, may even be able to finish pruning before blossoming this year.

I'm 40 years old, but my dad still makes fun of my when I buy non-Dewalt tools. But considering I could buy 3-4 of these for the price of the Dewalt, yeah that wasn't going to happen. Besides, I didn't know if I'd even like using one of these. Plus a Dewalt battery is heavier. My creeping fig vine was trying to fall off my long cinder block wall after a rain/wind storm. I had to trim it WAY back to be able to re-attach it to the wall, and my hedge trimmer was only able to do so much, especially where it had grown on the top in a giant mess of branches. So I grabbed this little tool, got out my mini scaffolding bench and went to town on the top of the wall. This thing is a miracle worker. It cuts through literally 1" and up branches. Sometimes if it's too thick to get through once, you just have to hit the 'trigger' a few times and it will make it through it. But seriously, it was very rare it didn't go through on the first shot. I was able to clear the top of probably 25' in less than a day combined. I would work in about 1.5-2 hour increments and take a break. Not because of the tools batter, but because of my human battery haha. Actually just being in the sun and feeling dirty haha. It never dipped below 90% in that time, so I think the battery is probably really long lasting. I charged it whenever I came in, just in case. It's easy to grip and hold. Very powerful, and a quick cut. So quick you can't really stop it, so be careful!!!! Even after all of that cutting, it still seems to be doing really well. I can tell it's maybe losing some of the sharpness, but they even sent a second set of blades. But that thing was covered in sticky sap, and it's still ok. I did clean it with rubbing alcohol and still good.

Works really well, priced right! It does get a little hot after about 20 minutes. Still cuts very well. Seems durable and relatively lightweight. Makes cutting up quick and easy for size of branches indicated on seller sight.

I’ve had this cool tool all of one day. I spent 2 hrs cutting branches with the greatest of ease. For $40, it’s already paid for itself with just the work I did today, imo. That’s work I was dreading doing without this tool. Ordinarily, I would’ve purchased a Black & Decker tool since I have nearly every battery-powered tool they make and plenty of batteries. But I thought their version was a little pricey. Then, I happened upon this maker’s tool. Never heard of the company, but I was willing to give it a chance. When it first arrived, this tool and its little black briefcase looked, to me, like a cheap plastic kid’s toy. Even the stickers on the tool were peeling off. But I was game, so I charged one of the two batteries. Then I went to work on some unruly bushes. This cuts like a ginzu knife through butter. It’s almost unreal how fast, cleanly, and effortlessly it cuts. While cutting, it makes a robotic sort of noise. --It’s extremely easy to use. --It’s lightweight. It weighs just under 2 lbs including the battery. --The grip is about the size of my tennis racket grip. It's not necessary to grip the tool, just hold it in your hand. I had no hand strain whatsoever after 2 hrs of work (which would not have been the case if I had used my non-battery lopper). —It cuts quickly and flawlessly. I cut up to 3/4” branches. —When I first slide in the battery and turn it on, the green light comes on, but nothing happens. I finally figured out I have to pull the trigger twice, quickly, which unlocks it, and then I hear a couple of beeps indicating it’s ready to cut. —I’m pretty sure it will instantly and cleanly cut off a finger if one isn’t super careful. —A couple of times, it cut when my finger was resting on the trigger, but not actually pulling the trigger. Gotta be careful with the trigger and where all your fingers are. —For me, the hardest part of using this tool was getting the battery to slide off. It was in there tight. —I’m not anywhere near needing to sharpen the blades, but there’s a block of some sort for doing that in the little briefcase.
