We recently purchased the Sealy Cozy Cool Bassinet & Bedside Sleeper for our newborn daughter. As first-time parents, safety and comfort were our top priorities and this Sealy bassinet fit the bill. It was easy for my husband to assemble, and he commented how sturdy it seemed. We like how it is height adjustable to fit right up next to our bed and the mattress and sheet seem super comfortable. Update: We’ve had this about a month now, and the baby went through about a week phase of sleeping through the night but regressed to just 30-40 minute stints before getting angry and flailing—even swaddled. If your baby’s only issue is being close to you, the product should be fine as you can easily put a hand on your baby from bed to soothe them. If they hate swaddles + have intense Moro reflexes, you may not see a difference if you already had another bassinet. He’s bleeding us dry with products aimed at safe sleep. I think some babies just do better than others at sleeping on their backs. By the time his Moro reflexes fade, he will be too big for the bassinet. *sigh* On to weighted pajamas… I bought this as a 4th attempt to get the baby to sleep in his own bed. It does win out over the other three (Moses bassinet, pack & play, and crib) in that it’s easier to get him out of while still laying in bed (still difficult). I wish the zipper came further down so he could feel me right next to him as though we’re on the same surface. I know the halo is like this and comes over the bed, but it looked wobbly in reviews and the legs take up a bunch of space. The baby tends to wake up transferring him back to the bassinet from bed. If I try to drape myself into the bassinet to cuddle him, it is sturdy but the metal bar on the side kills my armpit. He has been getting better about doing short stents if he’s all the way asleep before laying him down. The bassinet quality is good. Assembly wasn’t too difficult. Works for limited space and we like that he can use it until 6 months. It’s not perfect for feeling like he’s in bed with you, but it’s easier to soothe him from bed with this bassinet. We have been purchasing Sealy products for years, and it is a trusted brand in our house. This bassinet is another win for us from Sealy! It is great quality, and easy to clean. Sheets were easy to find to fit the mattress. I love that it has an adjustable height and drop down side making it so easy to soothe your baby and for bedside care. The storage basket for diapers and wipes is also a nice feature to have. I also like that the side is mesh so you can see your baby and your baby can see you. This is the perfect bassinet. Sealy is a great brand! I love that it is usable bedside. It doesn't take long to put it together. The fabric is soft. They thought of everything. Because babies get hot they included a mesh middle for the baby to lay on. When they sweat, there is airflow. It also is height adjustable with is the biggest plus! Needs better instructions for assembly. Very sturdy, good quality and well made. Decent amount of room. We do not generally use the drop down side. The bedside attachment is inconvenient unless you plan on installing and using it permanently in that setting. Easy to clean. I originally ordered the Halo Bassinest Swivel Sleeper (on Amazon) for my child, and I loved how easy the side was to push down, but the big legs wouldn't fit under my low-profile bed, so it was back to the drawing board. I then tried the Baby Delight Heirloom Willow Wooden Bassinet (also on Amazon), and it was very pretty, but it was too tall for my bed and so hard to pick up the baby over the side in the night. So finally I've tried this Sealy Cozy Cool Bassinet, and like Goldilocks, I'm finding this third option to be just right. The side folds down to provide easy access to the baby in the night. I don't love that when folded down, it reveals two hard edges, but I have only scraped myself on them once so far. The rest of the bassinet is nicely ventilated and padded. The mattress is just okay for Sealy. The overall size is just right, and the legs are low enough that I can push the sleeping surface right up next to my bed. This bassinet took my quite a while to assemble because it came in a million pieces, but the instructions were at least relatively simple to follow. The under-bassinet storage is hard to get to so is a useless feature in my book, but whatever, there's a basket under the bassinet. Overall, I like this bassinet as it feels sturdy and allows me easy access to my baby during the night. I wish it had a side that was easier to lower and didn't have hard pieces sticking out, but it works. 4/5 stars from me! ... show more
