I got tired of using a hand saw, manual pruning shears, and hedge trimmers on some larger branches or weeds (yea, thistle seems to get really thick if left unchecked). I saw this and decided to try it in case it helped me to cut things to a more reasonable size. This is a cool tool to have, considering it has two (2) different opening sizes to accommodate larger or smaller diameter branches. Ok, so I don't switch them around because why bother. The tool works fine and effortlessly cuts through thick branches and other fruit stems or whatnot. Feels like a typical electric/battery tool, so no complaints there. Startup is the same as listed: install battery, turn on, and then double press the trigger. Adjusting the opening dimension is a pull/hold of the trigger, with a longer pull/hold closing the blades for powering down. Love the cut-counter, so you know how many times each session you've actuated the device. Battery indicator is clear and easy to read. Battery is fairly easy to install/remove. Mine came with: two batteries, pruning shears+charging cable (directly to the batteries), hard-sided case, spare blades, two wrenches (allen and socket, not two sockets as shown), whetstone (with oil/water/lubricant bottle), gloves, and safety glasses. Mine didn't come with an instruction manual, so I was left trying to figure out how to use it (before looking at the listing). Overall, this is a great addition to the gardening tool lineup. Helps pruning larger trees/bushes/shrubs that require hand strength not found on those without the capacity for strength. Single-purpose tool, but well worth it when you are in need.

Let me say first off this is a great tool for pruning. I used it the same way I use my manual pruner but with absolutely no sore hand the next morning. It actually captures and displays the number of cuts performed in a session (while battery attached), and I had over 700 cuts in my session. I never encountered any issue removing the fronds from a few pigmy date palms. While the manual does point out you need to press the trigger twice to activate the pruner after installing the battery and pushing the power switch at the bottom of the pruner, there is no mention that the tool will go into "sleep" mode if not used for a few minutes. You will again need to press the trigger twice to turn it back on. As for the manual, many of the illustrations are mislabeled but you can kind of figure things out because others are correct. The instructions for lubricating were apparently for an earlier model. It talks about removing a cotton plug which I could not find anywhere. I did note that it has small spring and ball opening similar to a grease fitting in function. I used a toothpick to open it and then put a few drops of oil on the opening. A needle oiler would work better than the plastic bottle provided, but I was able to lubricate it before use and after even if the process didn't match the manual. The manual also talks about a larger 40cm shear. These are 30 cm. It's possible that there are some differences between the two and hence a possible reason for the discrepancies. Regardless, the tool works great. For someone like me with some arthritis in my hands this is a great alternative to manual pruning shears. With two batteries and an extra blade plus a sharpening stone, it should handle any job within its specs. Note, the batteries themselves have no charging indicator. There is a red light on the transformer of the charging cable which plugs into the battery. It turns green when the battery is charged. Everything comes in a nice case except for some safety glasses and gloves that were packaged in the box with the product but don't really fit well in the case.

I got this to prune some peach and pear trees, but I have been using them on small branches around my sheds and along our roads. To me these work great. These are not too heavy for me, but they wear my dad out pretty fast. He had no problem operating it, he just needs a little more muscle to use these longer. The instruction manual needed someone to proofread it, they are weakly translated to english and they do not correspond to the correct illustrations. Keep that in mind when reading it and you will do fine. I am glad it comes in a clamshell case, but as usual it is a thin plastic hinge that won't last too many uses, unlike the tool that should be good for a long time.
