    • Great Performance with Minor Drawbacks
I've been using the Electric Pruning Shears for a couple of weeks now, and overall, I'm quite impressed. The cordless design makes it incredibly convenient to maneuver around the garden without the hassle of cords. The cutting diameter of 0.8 inches is perfect for most of my pruning needs, and the shears slice through branches with ease. The rechargeable battery is a big plus, providing ample power for multiple sessions without needing a recharge. However, I did notice that the battery could drain quicker than expected during heavy use, so it's good to keep it charged. One minor drawback is the weight; while it's manageable, it can feel a bit heavy during extended use.     • Love these pruners.
Mine came charged according to the battery indicator lights. I love the USB-C charging because there is one less proprietary charger to keep track of. It only comes with a USB-C cable, not the charging block. I am a senior woman with small hands. While these are heavier than hand pruners and they don’t fit in my back pocket, they are still lightweight and powerful enough to get some serious pruning done that I would probably use smallish 2-handed lopers for. I like the blade cover and super easy lock-off switch in the handle. It doesn't force awkward hand and thumb positions as you try to reach a second switch somewhere to operate the blades. Your grip naturally rests on the lock switch - just pull the trigger. I have another more powerful battery pruner that uses a Dewalt 20v battery. While it can cut much bigger branches and the larger battery will last longer, it is just too bulky and heavy for me to use very often. I usually resort to hand pruners, so these are a great replacement. The only two cons I can see is that the manual says 2-5 hours to charge, but I don’t care because I don’t use them for long enough periods to run the battery all the way down. Also, I am not sure of the life expectancy of the built-in internal battery. I would hate to have to toss the whole tool when the internal battery dies if it can’t be replaced. Our house has some hedges around the perimeter that have not been trimmed in months. I knew it was going to be a big day of cleaning the yard and trimming those hedges! So when I came across the WORKPRO 7.2V Electric Battery Pruning Shears, I ordered it right away. With my old clippers, my wrists would have in serious pain trying to cut that much growth, but not these powered ones! It cut though 3/4" branches like butter! I was able to complete all my work in half the time, and I owe it all to this wonderful pair of shears. I kept thinking the battery would be exhausted after a couple hours, but no, it kept going.     • Great job at tackling hard weeds
We have a terrible time with weeds every year but this year is out of control. We can sit outside all day every day and still not be able to tackle all the weeds. One of our biggest weed problem is locusts. If we don't get rid of it as soon as we see it, it grows like crazy and they're hard to remove. I walked around the yard with the hubs the other day and had to cut down a lot of weeds and some bushes. This tool is very handy. It saves my hand from the tough jobs. I don't have strength left in my right hand so I needed something that can do the job for me. This tool worked perfectly and tackled all our jobs. I love that I can recharge it so it's fully charged when I need to use it. It can handle the weeds, bushes and even branches. It also worked great on one of my evergreens that needed to be trimmed.     • Work great, very powerful, but batteries not replaceable
I got these electric pruning shears for my wife, who does a lot of gardening. She has small hands and so must use small pruners, and she has real difficulty cutting thicker branches. No longer. This electric pruner is a beast. It cuts through green branches nearly an inch thick with no problem at all. The pruner is sturdy and appears to be well made. It's housing is made of tough plastic. It operates smoothly and it fits my wife's small hands (and also my large hands). It's best use is for larger branches: it works fine for cutting small stuff, but it's easier and faster to use a manual pruner for that. It seems to have plenty of battery capacity for typical homeowner work. I charged it up and cut 6-8 large branches and it was still fully charged after that. The one operational issue this pruner has is its weight: it's pretty heavy at 1.54lbs (700g). That's not prohibitive, but it's a lot to hold in your hand for a long time, which is another reason to reserve its use for the more demanding work. The one design flaw of the pruner is that it's batteries are not replaceable. The Li ion batteries will eventually fail, and then I am supposed to just throw out an otherwise perfectly good tool. The case is assembled with screws and it may be possible to to take apart the pruner and replace the batteries (I suspect they are standard 18650 Li ion batteries), but I don't know if that will work and it certainly is not recommended. As a matter of reviewing policy, I will not award an electric tool more than 4 stars if its batteries are not replaceable. If this pruner had replaceable batteries - which it could have if that design choice had been made - I would have rated it 5 stars. ... show more
