  • Hasn't scratched my glass cooktop!
Great, heavy pot. Needs two hands for me to lift it, but that's what I wanted, a heavy pot that I could brown chicken in without burning it. I love how deep it is so it doesn't spatter. I got a coated one so it wouldn't scratch my cooktop, and it hasn't, but I do try to remember to lift it and not drag it. Other people have used it, however, and still no scratching. The only thing I wish is that it had no coating on the inside, But I couldn't find a coated one that only had coating on the outside. Cleans well. I got the silver. I'm happy with the purchase after 6 months of using it. ... show more

  • I Got This the Other Day, and Was Dying to Use it!
Color: Duke Blue
Ordering the skillet was quite easy, and the delivery fast. The quality of this skillet is amazing! This thing weighs 15lbs, if it weighs an ounce, and is quite beautiful. I can't comment on performance or durability yet, but I will once I put the skillet through its paces. I love cast iron cookware, but it always seems to rust, no matter what I do! With ENAMELED cast iron, I should NOT have this issue! I have an enameled cast iron pot, and it's held up wonderfully over the years - I figure this should be the same! The pot is too deep to be doing egg sandwiches, bacon, sausage, chicken breasts, etc., so I purchased this skillet. It's has good reviews, so I figured this will be a good product. I was wrong... IT'S A GREAT PRODUCT! So far I've done eggs (in egg rings, to make egg McMuffins), a pan pizza (in the oven at 500 degrees), and a steak (started at high heat on the stove and finished in the oven). This thing is literally a tank - heaviest pan I have ever owned. Be careful if you have a glass stove top - you drop this baby on there, and the stove top is done for! The skillet heats well, and evenly. The surface is about as non-stick as you can get, without being Teflon, and cleans easily. I soak the skillet some, and then wash with a soft sponge. And though I don't have to season it, I do put some oil on it while it is clean, AND hot (old habit from using cast iron with no coating)! I would buy this again! ... show more

  • A JOY to use! Best Pan and worth every penny
First, disclaimers: this pan is HEAVY. Must use two hands to move it, and sometimes I feel like that isn’t enough. Aside from that, THIS IS THE BEST PAN I HAVE EVER HAD! It cooks everything perfectly and it’s non-stick surface is the truest non-stick surface I’ve ever encountered. I can go from cooking one item, take it out, literally just wipe it out, and cook something entirely different without having to wash it. Nothing sticks! Even though it’s not dishwasher safe, which I usually can’t stand, it doesn’t even bother me because of how easy it is to clean. One drop of soap and everything disperses when I wash it. Buy this pan if you want to experience the most joyful cooking endeavors of your life! And the workout you get from moving it around ain’t that bad, either. ... show more

  • Impressed is an understatement
The media could not be loaded. I am a raving Bruntmor fan. I purchased the 2 in 1 Dutch oven first. I was impressed with it, I purchased a 2 in 1 casserole dish, and again, I was struck by the utility, quality, and the value of the product. So my old trust cast iron skillet start bubbling and flaking and I needed a new one. Bruntmor immediately came to mind. I purchase beauty and eagerly awaited its arrival. When it came, I'll pick it up out of the box and immediately felt something strange. The interior was so smooth I thought that perhaps it wasn't cast iron but maybe it was Teflon. So, I started the pre seasoning ritual, even though the Box said that it was preseason and there was no need for it. I've owned cast iron for years and they all say their preseason but it doesn't hurt to put a coat of pre seasoning before first use. How to record off I got my first cooking and I could not be more impressed. As a matter of fact the word impressed is an understatement. Mayday Cajun shrimp and scallop pasta dish in this pan. After I put up the food, I went over to the sink with a little bit of soap and water and it cleaned out beautifully through a coat of oil on it put on the stove heating it up made sure it was dry and again, it feels like Teflon not cast iron. I don't mean to be so effusive but this is the best cast iron object I've ever used. ... show more

  • Super heavy & well built
Color: Duke Blue
This skillet is super heavy and well built. I was disappointed that it had some chips on the edge when it arrived but we didn't want to bother sending it back and my husband read that it was likely to get chips in normal use anyway, so we just kept it. It cooks great. Uniform heat, large area. Cleans up well. Very pleased. (but it's SO heavy to get out of the cupboard and take to the stove! I wish I knew where to keep it for better access). Being so heavy, that second handle is essential; I don't know how you could lift it off the hot stove without that. ... show more

  • Beautiful! Arrive with no chips! Heavy duty. PURPLE!
This review is only for the condition it arrived in, via USPS. I have gotten several cast iron pots via a home shopping network, I would say 50% of them arrived chipped. This beautiful 12 inch chicken fryer didn't have any chips or defects. I ordered the silicone handle cover (and it fits tight, great) from Amazon also. I know how hot those cast iron handles get. I also love the helper handle too. I will update after I use it a few times. My mom used a cast iron skillet to fry chicken, the main reason I ordered this pan. Old school way of cooking is the best school. If you know anything about my reviews, you know I love purple, every shade. It doesn't match anything in my kitchen, but that's why your eyes will be drawn to it. I plan to store it on the stove, it's too heavy to try to put it my lower cabinets, also don't want to take a chance on dropping it. I'm 65 and have terrible arthritis in my hands, this is a heavy pan, but if I was younger and my arthritis was not as severe, I wouldn't have a problem with this pan. So far, I love it ... show more

  • Nice deep pan
Color: Duke Blue
This pan is very heavy duty, deep pan. It is enameled on the inside, but it is a rough finish enamel. I made a sausage gravy in it and it did not stick at all, nor did it darken my gravy like my regular cast iron. I bought this pan specifically for gravy and tomato based recipes and I think it will serve the purpose very well. Only con would be it is HEAVY you're probably not going to hold it in one hand and scrape the contents into another container. It does have a place to hold it across from the normal handle though, so it's easy to lift two-handed to move off stove ... show more
