I work in IT and I have purchased a number of Brother products over the years for various offices. Typically they are pretty reliable and fairly priced. In the MFC and fax machine space, they seem more robust than similarly priced HP's, Canons, etc. After a recent experience with Brother support, I had to write this review. This unit is less than a year old and used in a business setting. The automatic document feeder broke and needed a simple part that has a rubber pad to push the paper into the feed roller that pulls it through the scanner. After diagnosing the problem and removing the part myself, I contacted Brother support with pictures and an explanation. After days of emails, they told me to make an 80 mile round trip to drop the unit off at a service center. Then the service center would likely have the unit for a week or two. I asked them to please send me the part and I will install it myself. Not happening. I also tried to purchase the part myself online and it cannot be found anywhere. When I finally got in touch with a Brother service center that could order the part, the part is on back order. So I have a $600 machine sitting here that cannot be used. This is a business and we need our office equipment working in a timely manner. I am deducting 4 stars due to poor Brother support and lack of replacement parts. ... show more

I have used this fax for the last two years with zero problems in a high volume setting. Best fax I've ever had, and costs much less than buying from a commission salesman. I am a big fan of Brother printers. The only downside is you must use Brother Branded ink to maintain the high quality printing, Very easy to setup up and very easy to use, Prints very fast. very satisfyed with this product.

Excellent printer. This brother printer is fast, easy to use, and has all the features that I use. I had an older Brother laser printer that lasted 12 year and it was just time to upgrade. This printer is even better than the old printer.

For high-volume printing at a reasonable price, the options seem limited, particularly when you depend on the printer to provide work-product to your clients. I've owned one HP after another, but fixing them costs more than buying something new. Accordingly, I switched to this Brother printer after doing significant research.     • Is a dependable product but Brother Customer Service is non existent!
Ordered the extra tray for legs and letter capabilities. I print mixed packages of docs that have legal and letter. When the printer is supposed to sort and select the right tray, the legal pages get chopped off at the bottom. At times the printer just quits in the middle of a print job and turns off the turns back on. This always causes paper jams. After I clear the jam and resume printing, it starts back on page one of the package I am printing instead of continuing on. FOLLOWUP: Sent the first printer back and received the replacement. Got it set up and it did the same thing cutting off the bottom half of the legal size papers. After several hours on the phone with brother Tec Support I finally got someone who told me if you are printing through Adobe reader with both legal and letter paper you need to turn the document upside down and print it upside down and that will avoid the cutting off of the print at the bottom. It’s working fine now and I’m happy, but Brother has the absolute worst Customer Service in the history of mankind! ... show more

    • Disappointing..
Unfortunately, about 1 out of 10 pages printed come out with a large wrinkle running down the entire page. Brother has not been helpful in solving the issue but rather gives generic tips like "make sure the paper is loaded properly". Have used Brother printers for years without this issue. Regret dropped $500 on this. Wish I had returned it as soon as I had the issue...has been present since the start. Just needed a printer immediately that first month and never returned it. Threw out the wrinkled pages when I was needing professional copies. Wireless printing works great, I must say. ... show more
