  • THE SKY IS THE LIMIT
Style: New Model: MFCL2750DW
Bought this printer to replace a (fast) digital copier. Just reached my first 10.000 copies in a few weeks. Toner cartridges last indeed more or less 3000 copies. Love the duplex scanning and duplex printing which saves me a lot of time. Much faster than my other Brother (color)printers. This MFC-L2750DW is meant for B&W only. Output is good. So far no issues. Would have loved a larger paper tray than this one that contains max 250 sheets. Very happy with my Brother family. UPDATE AUGUS 2023 In November 2022 I bought a MFCL2750DW to replace my malfunctioning digital copier. The first impresions of the Brother printer were so good, that I also left behind my old Canon B&W copier. In January 2023 I bought my second MFCL2750DW. Isn’t that strange? Let me explain why I did this. One of the main reasons to buy this Brother B&W printer was the speed. Two thousand prints per hour is very useful since I do a lot of books for educational purposes. In the beginning I had my doubts about the small paper tray(250 sheets), but I learned that putting in some 200 sheets was a piece of cake and made it possible to continue printing for hours without any delay. What I also learned that cleaning the corona wires from time to time must not be forgotten. The printer doesn’t give a warning about that. Warnings are given when you run out of ink or when the drum has to be changed. Both are very simple actions to do. Another reason to buy this printer was the possiblity of two sided scanning. After having scanned thousands of papers I really can’t complain. When there was an issue, it had to do with very old sheets of paper, sometimes even slightly bent because of use of paperclips for months. But working with normal nice sheets of paper, I never had an issue. But why the second printer? First of all, living on a small island in the Caribbean without local technical support gives you more peace of mind to have a “spare” in reserve when something goes wrong, for even schools can’t wait for weeks when you are in trouble. But the main reason was getting a better workflow. Two sided printing is not even half the speed of one sided printing. So I decided to use one printer for the quick one sided printing and the other for two sided and printing 160 gram covers for the books. Last month was the period for the beginning of the new schoolyear and as always the busiest time of the year. To be more concrete: the page counter of the first printer shows 173 thousand and the other one 51 thousand. More than 120 K prints were done in the last three weeks. That’s what I mean with: the sky is the limit with this superb printer. Did nothing go wrong? I think I had all together 3-4 times a paper jam. Very easy to solve. Only once I had some trouble with a toner cartridge. To spread the toner better I had slightly shaken the cartridge, but after that the printer said: No toner. It was a full cartridge. Re-installing the cartridge didn’t help. But with assistance of the excellent Brother Service I could solve that problem: just triggering the lip on the right side of the cartridge did the job. What about the future? My plans for next school year is to work with 3 printers: the first for one sided printing and the others for two sided printing. So my total printing speed will be 4000 sheets per hour. Did I say that I am very pleased with my printers? No, I love my Brothers! ... show more

  • Works like a charm
Style: New Model: MFCL2750DW
I recently purchased this printer and so far it has worked like a charm. This is a replacement for my Epson inkjet printer. Was tired of changing cartridges which can be pretty expensive. Setup - Setup was fairly simple and straight forward. I didn't go for the wireless setup because I've experience some issues with my previous printer. I believe the issue is that these printers can only use 2.5GHZ frequency of the router with "n" network and due to that you usually have to keep the printer close to the router. My router is in the basement and my office is on the first floor. I have ethernet wiring throughout my home so I've connected it via ethernet. It now is available on all my Apple devices/PC/Macs. I've tried printing via all my devices and it works beautifully. Scanning - I've scanned almost 400 pages so far using the "feeder" and "flatbed". When choosing 300 dpi option to scan either in single page mode or duplex, it scans pretty fast. No issues. Saving documents, importing scanned b/w pages via Acrobat worked fine. I had some issues with scanning colored pages using Acrobat. It kept giving me errors. I need to research that a bit more. One more thing that I wish Brother would look into is that the pages don't come straight if you use the feeder to scan. Not a deal breaker but wish it wasn't like that. Printing - I've printed close to 100 pages so far and again no issues. Print quality is pretty good. One issue that I found on my PC was that for some reason the option to print double sided wasn't available. I had to go to device settings and dig deeper to "Install" that option. It seemed strange as this option was readily available on Macs. Fax - I haven't used this yet. Will provide an update in the coming days. So far, I'm pretty pleased with this printer though I feel that Brother could have used better material for its paper tray and the buttons. It feels cheap. The screen is also pretty small. Hopefully, it'll last me for a couple of years. Highly recommend it. Update: Dec 2024 This is an exceptionally well made product. I've been using it for the last 6 years and it still works like a charm. No issues printing, scanning, copying etc. I don't use the Fax functionality so can't comment on that. I keep updating the software from time to time. I print from my Mac, iPhone, iPad and other devices. I scanned close to 200 pages one time and didn't have to restart it. The only issue that I can think of is that the pages 'sometimes' show up crooked. Very rare and mostly happens if I have a paper that is soft like a receipt or not a standard size. I think this printer will last me a few more years. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Better than expected
Style: New Model: MFCL2750DW
After reading a lot of reviews about this printer and a similar model over on OfficeDepot's website, I was reticent to get this one. My Canon pixma printer had crapped out after 3 years and I had poor experiences with both Epson and HP. I knew Brother was a reputable brand, but I never owned one of their printers before. I'm happy to think I made the write decision. If I have issues with the printer over time, I will update this review, but I have nothing negative to say thus far. Setup was about 40 minutes (including firmware updates) and relatively easy and straight-forward. Brother even supplies videos on their website as well as downloadable software if you don't have a disk tray. The printer comes with one toner cartridge and a short phone cable for the fax machine. A lot of reviews complained that this printer was difficult or cumbersome to operate. I have yet to experience this. Printing is very fast and easy as expected. Faxing was straight-forward as well and you can log numbers into an internal address book for future convenience. Copying works without issue and you can copy 2-sided, contrary to what at least one reviewer claimed. A couple people complained about volume. Upon start up, I can tell you the fax dial-up tone is loud. You can change this by going into the general settings and setting the volume to "Low" or "Off." What's also nice about this printer is the toner cartridge is located in the front. This means that for people with disabilities or for people who keep their printers in awkward locations, you don't have to worry about flipping the printer around once it's installed. The only issue I am running into right now is scanning from the machine. Scanning from the computer works fine, but I can't seem to get the printer to scan to the computer from the machine's own interface, This would mean having to load the scanner, then run back to the computer to click 'scan' every time, which I think should be avoidable. I've been playing with my firewall settings, but nothing has worked yet. I will talk to Brother's tech support and see what I might be doing wrong. Since this might be an issue on my end, I'm not willing to fault the machine itself just yet. ... show more

  • Scanning setup was tedious but smooth sailing since
Style: New Model: MFCL2750DW
Originally I just had an Epson inkjet all-in-one. But its ink always dried out and clogged, so I got a Brother laser printer and kept using the Epson for scanning. But eventually the Epson began getting scanning errors, so I needed a replacement for it. This new Brother all-in-one seemed like a way to replace both machines with one and save some desk space. Overall I'm please with it. Setting it up with my Mac was a mixed bag. The printing part was super easy, but configuring it to scan how I wanted was more work. Most stuff went as expected, but compared to my Epson all-in-one it was just tedious with more screens to go through and lots of unclear language. About the only thing that was simpler compared to the Epson was scan to email - all Brother needed was the recipient's name and email address and it was good to go (rather than a bunch of server connection details). I also installed the Brother scanning software on my Mac and that went fairly smoothly as well, but once again there was some unclear language on various screens. But once I got it all set up, it is working smoothly. Printing is fast, scanning to email is quick using the shortcuts I created on the printer's menu (but unfortunately you can't edit them or rearrange them). The ADF is fast and hasn't jammed so far. The Mac software is straightforward and easy to use for scanning. Scanning quality is fine for documents, but photos have slightly oversaturated colors. Overall I would say this is a great machine if your needs are mostly for printing and scanning documents, plus occasional photo scanning. P. S. The machine's web interface doesn't do much more than the minimum - and like the software and the menus, could use some revisions to the text to make things clearer. ... show more

  • Very Nice Muti-Function Printer
Style: New Model: MFCL2750DW
This nice little unit has completely met my expectations. Printing and scanning produce very nice looking documents. I also like the profile of this printer, as it is not as wide and so fits better on the small cabinet that it rests on than did my previous Canon printer. The trade off is that it is slightly taller and therefore somewhat less convenient when opening the lid while sitting down. The LCD screen makes it easy to check the toner level and WiFI connectivity among other things. However, I must say that it was a bit tedious entering a long WiFi password on such a tiny touch screen, but that is a one-time task. The long hold required when pressing the power button also took some getting used to, but that is a minor beef. The scanning function worked right out of the box with Debian running on my computer. However, I was unable to set up driverless printing on the latest Debian edition, so it was necessary to install the appropriate driver from the Brother website, which I was hoping to not have to do. After installing the driver, the operating system did its thing and I was able to use the unit both wirelessly and through USB for both printing and scanning without any issues. Oddly I had no trouble setting up driverless printing on my Debian 11 laptop over WiFi. My research led me to believe that this is because the older Linux version has the legacy libraries that this printer requires (and which is contained in the manufacturer's driver available on their website). The installation CD that comes with the unit will only work on Windows so I went ahead and installed the software on a Windows 11 drive. It provides additional preferences when doing a print job and it comes with useful scanning software, although for my purposes the native software that comes with most modern Linux systems is sufficient. ... show more

  • It works well
Style: New Model: MFCL2750DW
I love this Brother MFCL2750DW Monochrome All-in-One Wireless Laser Printer. I definitely wanted laser instead of ink jet and didn't need a color printer. I previously used a stand alone laser printer and a separate scanner. The scanner was old and didn't work with my new Microsoft Windows 11 software so I had a good excuse to buy this all-in-one printer. My stand alone laser printer was very quiet and fast but it didn't have any ability to automatically print on both sides of the paper. I'd have to first print odd pages then re-sort and re-feed the paper to print the even pages. I love the duplex ability of this Brother printer. I also like that you can feed paper into the machine when you scan copies. With my old scanner, I had to lift the lid and scan one page at a time. The cost of all these extra mechanisms is that you hear a little bit of moving parts noise at the start of printing something - not just silence like my old laser printer. But it's not 'noisy'. I already acquired some less expensive after market toner cartridges and tried them out in this printer. They worked fine. The Brother toner was a very, very slight shade darker (better) than the after market toner but you wouldn't notice it at all if you didn't look closely at side-by-side printed pages. I'm very happy with this machine. ... show more

  • BEWARE! Doesn't work with new 5G wireless networks.
Style: New Model: MFCL2750DW
Purchased in Jan of 2023 and review is written in Aug of 2024. I purchased this printer because we have several people and many devices that need to use the printer, so we needed a wireless connection. The printer worked great for about a year and a half. In August of 2024 I printed two individual one-page files. The printer printed the first one and after the second one it didn't work any more with our wireless network. Over the past week I have tried every conceivable setting, looked at the manual, looked at all the FAQs online, and spent over an hour on the phone with a Brother rep. She told me in the beginning of the call that the printer worked with 2G wireless but not 5G and that was likely the problem. I didn't believe her because our Internet hasn't changed. So I did not understand why it was working fine and then literally from one print job to the next, sent seconds apart, it stopped recognizing our wireless. Eventually she gave up and said I needed to talk to the ISP. I have been trying with that as well and I am forced to conclude that I have a $300 doorstop. Because this printer is completely useless to me if I have to use a USB connection. I frequently need to print from another room or device. Having to connect it means that it is not doing what I bought it to do. I am so frustrated and in addition seriously disappointed and angry with the company for making something that is obsolete that fast. What a massive waste, not just of my money, but of the resources that went into making what is now a piece of junk. ... show more
