  • Easy: Setup, Network, Update, Share, Scan. Hard: Not a dang thing.
Style: New Model: MFCL3750CDW
I upgraded to this from a DCP-7065DN (admittedly a 'bargain' model). There is nothing at all wrong with my previous Brother or the years of service it's already provided me - I just wanted to be able to print color now that I'm working from home these days. I have to say that I'm happy with the direction Brother has taken with their printers and the interface. I updated the printer firmware immediately, so if there were existing problems the firmware fixes, I haven't encountered them and cannot comment on what might be a problem/annoyance if one uses the printer without a firmware update. The update went smoothly and was easy to perform. - The size of this printer is only slightly larger in footprint than my old B&W printer, which was a pleasant surprise. It's not exactly a light machine though - it's got some heft to it! - The interface is much easier and cleaner to use than on past machines. Being a touch screen is likely 90% of this, as my previous Brother was just 2 LCD lines and a handful of buttons. - This printer is MUCH more quiet than the above mentioned printer. When I commented aloud how nice my first print was, others in my household were surprised I'd printed something - they didn't hear the whirr of the printer at all. When listening to music (at a reasonable volume) while working, I don't know anyone else has printed anything until they show up in my office to collect it. - Setup was a breeze and all the computers on my network are able to see it and print to it effortlessly. - Scanning is easier and there is now an option to push the scan to a Dropbox location (among other options), which was easy to set up and works wonderfully. - Print quality is great for a consumer machine. I'm able to print drawings that are meant to be 11x17 (or larger) on 8.5x11 and can still read the fine print. - As many, many color printer reviews have said, the colors on-page are significantly darker than on screen. For example, if I have a light-green highlight on screen that's easy to see through, it'll be difficult to read when printed. This is kind of expected, even on commercial grade printers, though even so, this seemed a bit darker than I might have expected. I'm not printing photographs with this, nor will I - that's a job for a decent inkjet printer with high quality paper (IMO). - The only downside to this printer for me is that it can't do 11x17" paper, but that is standard for this price range. Would need a larger and more complicated machine to handle wider paper. The only fault here is with my budget, not with Brother. Overall: Zero complaints so far - a miracle when dealing with printers! ... show more

  • Good all around multifunction machine for a home office
Style: New Model: MFCL3750CDW
I've had quite a few printers over the years. Some have been very good, others very bad. The absolute best printed I ever had was an Okidata monochrome laser printer that was absolutely bulletproof. I wanted something as durable and pain-free to use as that Okidata but with color and a scanner. I wasn't worried about print quality. Well, I was a LITTLE worried about print quality, but I wasn't concerned about getting photo quality results (I don't print photos). And, after dealing with a Canon Pixma and ink cartridges that dried out and/or leaked before I could use them up, I wanted a LASER printer. I investigated and found that this machine had reasonable specs-- relatively inexpensive toner, wired and wireless connectivity, scanner/copier capability, decent print quality. My next concern became cost of ownership, because I've owned printers that nickel-and-dime me half to death. One of the things that can make a laser printer uneconomical to maintain is the price of the image drum, which can often cost a significant fraction of what you paid for the printer in the first place. This is what ultimately made me get rid of that Okidata that I liked so much-- at the time, the drum cost almost as much as the printer. This was years ago and things are different now, but I wanted to be sure before I bought something that was uneconomical to repair. For this printer each color has its own drum, and the complete set of drums costs about $130. Not exactly peanuts but I don't expect to have to replace them any time soon because they're rated at roughly 18,000 pages each. Ditto the waste toner box, which is good for 50,000 pages and costs about $30. The belt unit is also good for 50,000 pages and costs $140 or so to replace. So, unless something gets damaged or I REALLY start to print a lot, these consumables will probably last the life of the machine in my usage case. So how does it work? Pretty well, actually. The printer is quiet and runs smoothly. It feeds paper with zero jams, and that's saying something because I've fed it an unusual diet of whatever I had laying around-- printer and typing paper of several bonds, thin card stock, whatever. Print quality is good enough for things like diagrams and textbook-quality pictures which is all I need. Colors are fine and toner life has been very good. I have a spare set of cartridges but have not had to replace one yet. My only gripe is with the software. It's not particularly feature rich and feels antiquated-- kinda like you're using an old Windows XP application. For printing this doesn't matter but for scanning you're at the mercy of the Brother software and its quirks. I've never had a problem getting things done, but the software feels cumbersome and doesn't integrate with 3rd-party apps particularly well. Aside from the software, everything works well. Scanning, whether you're using the glass bed or the automatic sheet feeder, produces good quality images. Printing is seamless because it bypasses the Brother software entirely. Same thing for copying, which you can do right from the control panel of the printer. Network connectivity is fine using both LAN cable and Wi-Fi, and I've been able to print from Windows 7, 8, and 10 machines as well as from a handful of Android devices. All work fine once they're set up. I can't comment on faxing or printing directly from USB since I haven't used those features. This printer won't set the world on fire with printing or scanning speed, but it's as fast as I need. It comes out of sleep mode quickly and spits out finished documents in reasonably short times. Scanning takes longer but the automatic sheet feeder works very well for any document of reasonable size. The only thing that wouldn't feed through it was a series of 4x6 photos that I tried to scan. I think 5x7 worked fine but I can't 100% recall. I'm glad I got this printer. For $400 delivered (slightly more now, but not much more) it packs a lot of functionality for the price. I bought it as a general-purpose printer and, when my schedule became hybrid, it became my home-office printer as well. It has yet to miss a beat and works very reliably. ... show more

  • An HP devotee - Brothers MFC-L3750 is the best value on the market comparatively speaking
Style: New Model: MFCL3750CDW
The is an home office application. I print around 2500- 3000 business document per month. I looked at all the others even the off brand Korean/ China models which also have many features, but what I liked about the Brothers was that this particular model had mid level toner cartridges also avail able in high weight that should last me at least 6 months coupled with the fact that there is a selection in the driver app that allows you to select black only or colour. This can also be done within the setup app though any browser so that it will only print Black and only an admin can make those changes. Which in my household is a good thing, this helps extend the life of the colour toner. Every time some one prints out a simple recipe, a manual or simple directions they print in colour , not realizing it. Also the interconnectivity is absolutely amazing. There was not setup needed, it was found and installed all the driver on every device, and even my i-phone was connected without me having to invoke any applications or additional software. The print quality is very good, but make no mistake if you want better color prints then you will need to go to an inkjet, but that being said this colour is perfect for business presentations and since it is Toner being used you will not have to worry about declogging the ink from the heads. If you go away on vacation for a couple of weeks or don't print colour, the Inkjet will clog, even the best of them do. I am not a graphics department, they have their own printers just for that purpose. But with a nice grade of card stock paper or even photo grade no one will know the difference when making a sales book or if you print your own Christmas cards, which my wife loves to do. I was a HP-only , but while comparing the two units the HP cost 25% and no significant features for that price range. This printer does on demand colour, black only, single sided or 2 sided printing even for 1 page, it's as easy as just checking the box in the printer dialog box. I could not say enough about this printer, I also purchase a 4 years on site warranty which came out to about $20/year. All parts and labour or replacement policy. ... show more

  • Price gouging at it's worst
Style: New Model: MFCL3750CDW
The machine worked quite well until the starter toner began to run low. I replaced all of them with non-Brother cartridges prior to the replacement notification. Three of them work wonderfully and the level accurately reflects the new cartridge. No difference in print quality. Sadly, the magenta did not adjust the level. It continued to work until the replacement notice came on and now I can do nothing with the printer as the message will not clear. I tried replacing it with another new cartridge but it still does not acknowledge the replacement. I looked online and there used to be a fix but that was negated by a recent firmware update. I called customer support and was told that I must use only Brother cartridges or that is what will happen. I was told that I must replace all four cartridges with their brand prior to any other options being offered. That is over $300 to "see if that works". They offer no other options even though the printer is clearly not looking for a new cartridge. They are quite candid that unless you buy their toner, they are not willing to provide any meaningful customer assistance. If there were a reasonable price difference (even 25%), I would be okay but when they force you to spend 10x more for the same product, I cry foul. I will not be buying any more Brother products from here on out. ... show more

  • Early use review...
Style: New Model: MFCL3750CDW
Easy set-up, and the double sided printing, scanning capability, and ability to email scanned files to a number of different outlets, including pre-programmed emails is excellent. Quality of prints was better after calibrating. Out of box, the print jobs were leaving a thin blue line down the left side of every page, but it stopped doing that after calibration. Only complaint so far after a few weeks of use is that envelopes feeding into the unit get fairly wrinkled/crunched as they work their way through the print job. Does not jam, but comes out with creases each and every time - still usable to mail, but not a clean print job. ... show more

  • Excellent printer for home or small office use
Style: New Model: MFCL3750CDW
I recently purchased the Brother MFC-L3750CDW Digital Color printer for my home office and it has exceeded my expectations. The setup process was very straightforward and the printer connected easily to my home network. I love that it has both wireless and wired connectivity options, which makes it very versatile. The print quality is excellent, with vibrant and accurate colors and crisp text. I've printed a variety of documents, including graphics-heavy presentations and detailed reports, and everything has come out looking great. The printer is also fast and efficient, with a high page-per-minute rate and automatic duplex printing that saves me time and paper. One of the features that I appreciate the most is the large paper capacity and the ability to handle multiple paper sizes and types. I can print everything from envelopes to legal-size documents without having to switch trays or manually adjust settings. Additionally, the scanner and copier functions work very well and have saved me from having to purchase separate devices. Overall, I'm very happy with the Brother MFC-L3750CDW Digital Color printer and would highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable, high-quality printer for home or small office use. It offers a great balance of features, performance, and affordability, and has made my work much more efficient and productive. ... show more

  • What A Mess of reviews for different products
Style: New Model: MFCL3750CDW
I purchased a Brother MFC-L3750CDW the newer version in Jan 2019. YOU CANNOT GO BY THE OVERALL STAR RATING BECAUSE THEIR ARE SEVERAL OLDER MODELS MIXED IN. All I can say is that it is very well designed office printer that has so far worked very well. The unit is almost silent when I compare it to the $600 HP laser that it replaced. I have never seen it go into calibration mode like the HP was always doing and the duplex feature is just so nice to have. I have not had to replace toner cartridges but the person who recommended this model to me owns one and says while the toner may seem expensive you do get a lot of pages out of it before needing to replace it. I will update this review if something changes, but for now I am very pleased with this purchase. UPDATE: (Five Months of home office use as of 16-July-2019) I uploaded some pictures to show you the toner consumption rate. Now considering that the printer comes with half filled starter Toner cartridges and I am super impressed. Currently I am at 690 pages printed I still have 50% of my black ink left and 90% of the color ink. The printer has been flawless since I got it, no bleeding on the edges or toner dust in the system. It is still just as good as day one and is consuming half the Toner that my older HP used and yet prints so much better. ... show more

  • Great printer, couldn't be happier
Style: New Model: MFCL3750CDW
After years of buying cheap laser jet prints I decided to get a laser printer. I wanted the scanner features, color and wifi. This printer came with that. In the 18 months I have had it, the printer has worked great. I love being able to print from anywhere in my house from any of my three computers or phone using the Wifi features. The scanner does a great job and all over Wifi. I can email the scanned item or send it to the cloud or one of my computers. The black ink lasted a tad over a year, the color is still good but getting low. I used a knockoff brand (Valuetoner) instead of the expensive Brother ink and the black cartridge worked well. Haven't had to fax yet using it, but it does have that feature (no more landline). The print also has a copier which works well. Also, it will do two sided copies/printing, which saves paper and looks great. The print has doubled in cost since I got it, but it is well worth it. ... show more
