I am picky. I knew what I wanted. I generally stock up on cases of Aquafina water bottles and moved to an apartment complex that does not share my belief in recycling. Brita is the only answer. The 10 cup was too big and heavy when filled (I'm a senior). The slim at 5 cups did not seem to hold enough water. I love the 6 cup with the Elite filter and it is not too heavy when filled. It provides a color indicator on top to let me know when I will have to change filters. Each Elite filter is good for approximately 6 months. The pitcher fits on my refrigerator shelf with room left over. If I had to add a negative, it would be that I should have purchased two of them! I use it for drinking water, filling water containers when I go out, filling my ice cube tray, and filling my Keurig coffee pot. I thought about the Brita that would attach to the sink; however, I wanted my water cold on demand. I have an over the counter water filter which I'm still using. But the water here is so gross I needed something extra. You can smell the chlorine when running the faucet. I can't afford a whole house system (wish I could) and really nowhere to put it, no space. So I figured I'd use this in addition to the already filtered water. It really helps a lot and the water tastes much better. I'm even using it for my cats' water. I do wish I'd gotten the bigger size though as I have to constantly refill this, so that's on me. This BRITA pure Water Pitcher with filter works so good. It is very easy to get started and set up the filter too. The only thing I personally have to watch out for is - after I fill it up, to not tilt the full pitcher towards me or the water spills out of the handle. This is only when the pitcher is full. Also to be careful not to knock it over when it's next to empty-the bottom of the pitcher is thin and narrow. Overall this is a really great buy and fits well in my fridge. Very easy to fill and clean. I clean mine between almost every refill, and it’s very easy and quick to do. You do have to buy filters and replace the one inside it every once in awhile (I haven’t had to yet) which is something I discovered after purchasing. Still, it has a light on top that will track how much you’re pouring out of the container and will turn yellow (or red I forget) when your filter is pretty much dead.
