Description

The popular Brinsea Maxi II Advance has been redesigned to hold more eggs and be even more flexible. The single ring egg disk has been replaced by an innovative mix-and-match quadrant system available in 4 variants allowing users to incubate more eggs of the same size or eggs of different sizes at the same time. Perfect for those new to incubation this 24-egg incubator provides excellent visibility, the convenience of automatic egg turning with the reassurance of digital alarms and count-down to hatch day. The new Maxi 24 Advance is menu driven and extremely easy to use: just program the length of incubation for your specie and the micro-controller holds the correct temperature, turning and length of incubation with no further input. The display shows the incubation temperature, turning status and counts down each day to tell you when eggs are due to hatch and turning will stop automatically 2 days prior to hatching. All you need do is top up periodically with water. Eggs are turned by rotating egg quadrants. Two sets are supplied – one for 24 medium chicken eggs and one for 12 large chicken, duck or turkey eggs. Quadrants for 40 small quail eggs and 8 extra large eggs like goose are available as options. The clear walls of the egg chamber mean fantastic visibility of the hatching eggs without lifting the lid and the fan assisted design coupled with detailed airflow analysis results in exceptionally even heating of the eggs to ensure consistent and reliable hatches. Like all Brinsea products the Maxi 24 Advance egg incubator comes with a 3-year warranty subject to registration.

  • 4 stars for no humidity reading
I realize this particular unit is less expensive because it does not have humidity reading but aside from that the direction were clear could be a little more simpler as I had to toggle back and forth a lot. I use my own secondary hygrometers however what people continually fail to understand is that all these hygrometers people stick inside the units have a +/- of 2!!! So when people say the incubator temp is way off- I would go by a precisely calibrated Brinsea before trusting the hygrometer. Every hygrometer I’ve bought no matter what machine I put it in is about 1-2 degree lower. I’ve hatched 3 batches at 96% this year back to back. All of those were with shipped eggs as well I don’t mess with factory temps. Unless you have a bulb thermometer and a wet bulb for humidity you will never find accuracy in secondary hygrometers - use them as a tool- loosely. ... show more

  • 50% hatch rate
I have run two batches of eggs through this incubator. After carefully reading the set up manual, it pretty much takes care of itself other than checking the outside cup water level daily. Both runs had half the eggs hatch healthy chicks with no deformities.

  • Lid warped
We did have a successful hatch despite the kid being warped. We taped the lid the last 3 days during lock down to hold the humidity. Great incubator

  • Great!
22 out of 24 eggs hatched first batch! I'd say that's great! Very easy to use and I will add I lost power a few hours a few different days and the hatch rate was still great! As long as you make sure there's water in the reservoir it's pretty much set it and forget it! Also when you get it make sure you sign up for your 3 year warranty! You only have 30 days from purchase to register it! Happy hatching! ... show more

  • 100% success rate, healthy chicks all (Brinsea Maxi 24 Advance)
This was my first time incubating; last month a pack of foxes killed our flock of 12 - it was heart wrenching. There happened to be 16 eggs sitting on the kitchen counter, and with a blessing and a prayer it was decided that we’d attempt to hatch those eggs - a reincarnation of our chicken friends. I wanted a reliable product that did the hard work of successfully hatching healthy chicks. There may be cheaper ones, but I will never buy another incubator- Brinsea Maxi 24 Advance is the one I will use again and again. We had so much anxiety over our lost chicken friends that we actually created an excel graph and measured the weight of their eggs every week to see if the eggs where viable and growing - and this machine is SO efficient that our eggs hit the target numbers all through the 21 days. The first was born the 20th day, all the others on the 21rst. 100% success strong healthy chicks. ... show more

  • 91% hatch rate
The media could not be loaded. Need I say more? I got a different machine back in July and it was an absolute waste of money. 2 batches and got 33% & 42% (I opened the unhatched eggs to check fertilization and they were all fertilized). Had to fiddle with it so much. This machine, however, is pretty much plug and go! Well, I did let it warm up for several hours but other than that, no fuss at all. I got a small hygrometer and stuck it to the dome. I used the thermometer on the machine. Morning of day 21, they all started hatching one by one. Again, highly recommended! ... show more

  • Temp inaccurate and inconsistent, humidity way too low. Heater failed before first hatch date
I bought this because Brinsea has a great reputation and I hated fiddling with my last incubator and having to open it to add water. I thought this would be worth the money. It is not and in fact led to more loss than the cheap incubator I tried previously. All my eggs were fertilized and I had already hatched from the same flocks before with a 90% success rate so I was quite dismayed when I saw losses by the second candling. This continued with the 3rd candling to the point where I decided to put an expensive temp and humidity sensor in the brooder and track it. I had set the incubator for 99.8 deg. It was 98.9 and the humidity was only 37% even with me carefully keeping one side of the water cup totally filled. So I bumped the temp to 100.2 and filled the whole water cup. Result - 99.5 deg and 47% humidity. Update: The heater seems to be failing entirely. I have been having to increase the temp in the Brinsea over the past week just to keep it the same as it was the second week I started tracking temps and this morning I woke to find that display 98.4 even though the incubator is set to 100.9. I have now removed the few remaining viable eggs to a different setup and am returning this incubator with PREJUDICE! ... show more

  • Excellent quality incubator - almost too easy to use
I purchased this along with the insert for small eggs to hatch quail. This allows me to hatch 40 quail at a time. Using this, I am getting excellent hatch rates in a nearly hands-off system. I literally load the eggs, set the hatch day, stay mindful of the water level, and swap out the insert for the cardboard hatching mat about 2 days before hatch and that's it. It couldn't be much easier. There are less expensive options, but I'm absolutely sold on the simplicity and the quality. ... show more
