so far i have successfully made 2 kegs that taste good ingredients all labeled and instructions have been straightforward to follow. i tend to like much darker beers GUINNESS ETC, this is still is a full of flavor.

    • Using it right now to make root beer...
I prep my yeast before adding but the provided yeast was kinda flat. Used my Champagne yease and am at day 4. No bleed thru at the tops although warned it might happen. So far I like the container/keg idea...would like to retap the top to add a threaded cap to use in my kegerator as it is the perfect size. May get a shop to prefab some aluminum ones. Will update when dispensing this first trial. ... show more

This was my first homebrewing experience and the process was as painless as something like this can get. It is truly a 10 minute affair (give or take) and is way easier than any other home brewing kit out there. I know that because since a few days ago I also got a craft beer kit with all the jugs, capping pliers, hoses, valves, spigots and the rest of it. Getting back to this one, I had it sitting in an aluminum pan just in case it decided to spill over (it didn't) for 5 days then it went in the fridge for 2 more days. Taste: After the whole process was done I decided to have a taste and it didn't disappoint. The taste was just like the Weissbier I'm used to minus the carbonation. The beer is very flat since it doesn't get the bottle stage or a CO2 canister. Price-wise this is about 30% more expensive than my favorite local growler pour so it's not too bad of a deal if you cherish the experience of making your own brew. The idea is a good one, I would like to see it developed further with recyclability in mind and maybe a few upgrades. If they revamp the keg, add a CO2 thread, make it easy to sterilize for future use and then just release the ingredients but keep the process just as simple this could be the next best thing for home-brewing. ... show more

This kit makes beer making easy. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow. The included ingredients are nice quality and the beer produced from them is pretty good. My expectations for a good tasting beer was pretty low as this is a very simple beer making kit and I was really surprised as to how tasty it was. My husband is a big craft beer lover and I gave this kit to him. He loved it. The kit gave him a taste of the homebrew experience without all of the bells and whistles. Crazy easy kit to make your own beer. It's a great novelty gift and we thought it was cool to set up and taste at the end of the little experiment. The flavor isn't terrible and the whole process is simple and fast. The instructions are very easy to follow, and the fact that it comes with its own tap makes it way easier to poor.
