    • Great thermometer, but annoying and unintuitive
As a thermometer, it's great. And for the price, the annoyances are whatever. Whoever designed the UI on this thing needs to go back to the drawing board. Setting and changing presets/alarm thresholds makes no sense. The alarm is so bad. You have to hold something to silence it, it's not like a single press, and it's like the + button or something - IDK, I can't make it stop easily so my routine is when it goes off, I run into the kitchen and button-mash before just pulling the wired probe out of the connector so it shuts up while there's ringing in my ears. If the UI was better, it would actually be a great tool - you can change the temp threshold for various meats and set that preset to alarm when that temp is reached. This would be great if doing so was intuitive, but honestly I keep messing it up (probably from the button-mashing) so it's a crapshoot every time. Honestly reading this back it sounds ridiculous but it does read the temp, and does so without me needing to open the oven every 20mins while wasting heat and burning my knuckles trying to hold the onboard thermometer in the oven. I'd have spent an extra $5 to not have to deal with this thing, so if you have that option maybe consider that, but if you don't care about the alarms (you can set the threshold to like 350 and it will never ring) it's a good measuring device. ... show more

    • Reads temp quickly
I use this for my steam canner. I poke it into the vent and it reads the temp quickly and accurately. It will light up for a time so it can be read and has a magnet so it can be stored above the stove on the vent.And it can be easily calibrated.

    • Poor programming instructions
I wanted an easy to read meat thermometer that was also programmable. However there doesn't seem to be instructions on how to operate those functions. It worked fine to check the temperature by inserting the probe. I'll have to work on it a bit to see if I can muddle through the technical process.
