Some users have experienced excellent customer service, making them dedicated fans of the brand.

Pros

  • 🔇 Quiet running with effective shock system
  • ⚙️ Good customer service experiences noted with prompt support

Should I Buy It?

If you're willing to handle a potentially complex assembly and possible maintenance, the treadmill offers a good home workout experience. However, if you are not comfortable with troubleshooting potential electrical issues or prefer a low-maintenance product, you might want to consider other options.

  • Durable treadmill, with some issues, but still recommended
Style: T22
UPDATE 11/8/2024: Still running on this treadmill every single day. There are a few software quirks but I work around them. I use WD-40 Silicone lubricant to spray under the belt weekly. Been working fine. UPDATE 11/23/2023: There have been a lot of software updates to this machine over the months and I think that's where the weakness was. I've had no lockups, and data disappearing for quite sometime. I'm on season 2 with this machine and I love it. Solid 5 stars. I never write reviews but for something that's over $3,000, I'll spare some time. I ordered my T22 in May and it came shortly after that. The delivery company walked it into the kitchen and I'm glad they did. This is one heavy package. I opted for the self-assembly, another thing that I'm glad I did and I recommend that you do to. The reason is that some of these electrical connections are very fragile. You'll have to push and pull some of these wires down some of the components and if you don't take the proper care I bet you'll have problems later on. I've seen reports of individuals complaining of switch issues and while I have no proof I would still be willing to bet you blame an assembly guy that wouldn't care about the product as much as you do. So my assembly took a few days, I was slow, but cautious, and it was just me, so your millage may very. I've used it for 12 weeks now and have had no electrical connection issues at all. Once it's assembled the thing is a tank, but before, treat it carefully. I waited to give a review because at first I had a lot of problems with this treadmill, but I wanted to love it. So I wanted to see if they'd work out the kinks or if I could figure something out. I did or they did, or we both did or whatever because in the beginning I would give this product 2/5 stars but now it's 5/5 and I recommend it to anyone that's looking in this price range. The first problem I had is the loss of internet connection. Every. Single. Run. I would lose internet connection but it's important to note that this does not stop your run. She'll say "workout paused" and you'll read "connection lost". I would quickly tap "ok" and keep moving. Without a connection you'll be staring at nothing but at least you'll get your run in. Solve this by connecting to your 2.4 ghz internet connection. Make sure your SSIDs are labeled differently because it'll connect to both if you attempt to connect to the 2.4 ghz ID. What I like to do is play the video "walking through a place" and their supplied music, but that didn't last because another problem was the music stopping halfway and when the workout was over the program would freeze, forcing a restart. The only around this was to not play the music. I connect my phone over bluetooth now and play some music, and I still use their video of walking through different places, which I must admit is really cool. But I could never get their music to work. But not playing their music avoids that problem. After those two things this treadmill has been extremely reliable and so far I've lost 35 lbs with it. To mention some quirks-but-not-failures I'd point out that the angle and speed request can be a bit mushy. For instance I'll want to walk at 3.6 mph, push the 3, and then hit the up arrow to demand the machine speed up but you'll hit the button and it takes awhile to register that you did so, so I usually go to 3.8 mph and have to arrow down. Also I really with there was a way you could program your own workout but they give you a lot of pre-made options and you can always adjust, which I do. After all that I do recommend this treadmill, there is a lot of room on the belt and it's easy to use. I've not had any mechanical issues so far. ... show more

  • *Dead* machine, awful app. *10/23/21 update*
Style: T10
The treadmill quality is fantastic. Very quiet, and super sturdy. I'm 200 lbs and my wife can't hear me running in the basement. The only real problem I have is with the journey app. It seems extremely bloated with too many exercises. If you want to run the mountains or whatever you have to manually adjust incline and speeds. I understand not being able to adjust speeds, but if you're doing a guided run through some mountains or hilly terrain I would think the machine would change incline according to the condition of the trail. There are no live classes to join. You can't race other people if you wanted to. That's a real draw back to what I thought I was getting. There seems like there should be a lot more "smart" abilities but really it's a boring tablet with cheap exercise options on it. So thank goodness we bought this and it was a quality built machine, but the tablet gets a Zero in my book. *Update* After about two months of use the machine is experiencing technical issues that are essentially bricking the device. The treadmill is broken after it is detecting a button on the arm being stuck. There is no button that is stuck. Also the treadmill is saying that it and the tablet lost connection. I've tried all initial troubleshooting techniques and nothing has worked. Until things are figured out this treadmill is a buyer beware and giving it 1 star. ***Update 12/11/21 After three months of use and getting replacement parts shipped to fix issues, we are running into more issues. Per my last update we were able to fix the stuck button problem by replacing the button console. Now the treadmill makes a loud noise while running. A cracking plastic sound that is most likely the motor case but I can't pin point it. But the big WTF is the treadmill is studdering and stopping while in use. Even with copies amounts of lubricant and adjustable the belt the treadmill is stopping in use. I don't think my first car had these many issues. I wish I never "spent up" on what I thought a quality treadmill this was. DO NOT BUY. THIS TREADMILL IS CRAP. THIS BRAND HAS BECOME JUNK. ... show more

  • Figured out why it kept stopping
Style: T10
I was worried about ordering this machine based on the reviews that it would randomly stop. I figured it’s been out long enough that they probably fixed the issue with a software update. Mine would randomly stop, and at the same time, the display showed that it dropped off of WiFi. My WiFi has the 2.4GHz and 5GHz combined with the same SSID. Knowing that a lot of IoT devices don’t like 5GHz, I went into my router and separated the two, and it hasn’t dropped off of WiFi yet! ... show more

  • Don't buy this treadmill
Style: T22
UPDATED January 1, 2023: I had high hopes for this Treadmill 22 (by Nautilus) and customer service, despite the negative reviews. I should have listened. I ordered it October 29, 2022 and delivery was scheduled for November 10, a day I was to be in town. The delivery service person changed the delivery date to the 7th (when I was not in town) claiming the customer had requested a change (I had not). They dropped the 400 pound box in the middle of my driveway, making it inaccessible, as neither my wife nor kids could move the pallet. When I got back, assembly went as expected, but within three weeks of use, the incline motor failed "on" in auto-adjust mode, driving the incline to level 20, and the incline was not responsive to any buttons or levers. Called customer service (60 minute hold) only to have the call dropped after 45 minutes. Started over (another 60 minute hold) and finally got through. A very nice person gave me some test procedures to run on the treadmill and asked me to email the results, and promised to respond as soon as I sent the test results (all the button and lever tests worked fine by that way, and the Treadmill self-diagnostic software showed no issues). Customer service person said, and I quote, "I normally respond to emails within two hours, but if you don’t hear back, just call back." She did not respond to my emails after two days, so I called again (60 minute hold). After a lot of guesswork by customer service about the problem, and after she had me remove the motor cover and closeout panel, detach some cables, reattach them, and restart the treadmill, and re-run the tests (all tests passed), the person told me that she would have to hand it over to JRNY, since it could be a software problem, but that JRNY would call me within 24 hours. They did not. I called JRNY on December 3 to speak with the software people (5 minute hold). More tests, everything showed fine. They finally diagnosed the issue (on December 3) as the very same thing anyone could have concluded on November 28—incline motor failure—and said they’d be shipping a replacement out right away. They did not. Now it is December 28 and I’m back on the phone with JRNY (30 minute hold). I found out they had never shipped the replacement incline motor because, they say, I never submitted proof of purchase. (I had). So I re-forwarded the same proof of purchase email I had sent on November 28. This time it was accepted and they have now initiated a shipment of a replacement incline motor, which I will be installing myself because there is no way I'm going to wait for Nautilus to schedule a visit! It has been 60 days since I ordered the Treadmill 22, 30 days since it failed, and they are just now shipping the replacement part, which, by the way, retails for $130 and I could have installed myself by now, except it would violate the warranty. So before you buy this treadmill, ask yourself if you've got the time and patience for Bowflex/Nautilus help you diagnose system failures. Because congratulations! you're a Treadmill technician! Update January 1, 2023: the replacement part came on December 30. I installed it, ran the calibration as instructed, and the incline motor immediately failed again in "on" mode, driving the motor all the way to the end of the screw, and which point the motor screw came off the sleeve and collapsed. And now I'm right back to where I was on November 28, 2022. The incline motor does not work, and I'll have to get back on hold again to wait for hours to get assistance and additional instruction and parts in order to act as an underpaid Nautilus technician diagnosing their failed equipment. What a mess! ... show more

  • Replacement for my last 2 Treadmills, Impressed! Bowflex T7 Model
Style: T7
This is for the T7 Model. I have had terrible luck twice with both Adidas and Rebook treadmills, so this is my third in 5 years. ( both priced MSRP just below $1000) I spent a lot of time researching this on Prime Day before buying. This model is a "retailer only" so it is pretty hard to find information across the internet, as well as it being a newer unit. The BIGGEST concern for me, was durability followed by expense. I rather spend a bit more on this, than get a sub $1000 treadmill just to have issues down the road. Positives: 1. Large Rollers, much larger than most residential treadmills, at 2.75". For runners it is recommended at least 2.25" rollers. Large rollers reduce wear on the bearings, require less tension on the belt, less or no belt hesitation, and longer belt life. Cheaper Treadmills can be as small as 1.5". 2. Triple Ply Belt - cheaper treadmills often have a 1 or 2 ply belt, which reduces its longevity and makes it prone to wear quicker. 3. Push button Drop - I keep my treadmill in mu living room, so it is folded when not in use. The Bowflex system is nice, as rather than having to "kick" the piston, it as a locking mechanism released by the giant red button. This provides a much easer way to lower the deck than a traditional treadmill where you must kick/push the piston inward while lifting to get the locking to release. 4. Heart Rate Monitor - this includes a arm worn heart rate monitor that matches my Apple Watch reading almost exactly. It allows for a readout of your heart rate on the screen, which is convenient. 5. Quiet Operation - This is set right again the wall of a bedroom, and they can't hear it in operation, even with a light jog, so that is great if you worry about disturbing others. 6. Warranty - The warranty is on par with what I expect for a treadmill over $1000 7. Fan - although it is weak, this is the FIRST out of 3 treadmills I can actually feel the fan. It isn't super powerful, but it is enough that you can feel it. 8. Assembly - SUPER easy. Took me less than 45 minutes from boxes to assembled Negatives: 1. Plenty of storage / space, but awkward design - the places for water bottles was not though out, it seems like it was an afterthought. plenty of space, it just all has a weird design and layout 2. Plastic trim is garbage - All of the trim for the legs and arms, is poorly designed, feels cheap, and is awkward to install. I spent more time on the trim pieces during assembly than anything else. 3. JRNY - although I didn't have issues getting started without a membership ( many JRNY products seems to lock out users prompting for a subscription) it is overpriced and locks the streaming apps behind this paywall. Not huge for me, because I use a 12" iPad, but this would upset me a bit more had I bought one of the upper models with larger screens, and was unable to use half the functions without a subscription. Overall, I have owned this for a week and am happy. Time will tell if it holds up. The delivery guy said this was the heaviest he had delivered ( which I can attest it is hefty, as I helped get it up stairs). It is a shame that Bowflex / Nautilus has locked streaming apps behind a JRNY membership. This removed any temptation for me to buy one of the ones with a huge display, as it would be useless without a JRNY membership. I will update this review after 6 months of ownership. ... show more

Style: BXT8J
The box is heavy and will most likely need multiple individuals to move. The setup was straight forward though some screws on the top portion were a little tedious. Great money value and great addition to the home gym. Does everything a treadmill is suppose to do, incline. Speed, HR monitor, digital display….great all around. No complaints. The tread is long and wide enough so I do not feel restricted when running, I feel there is enough room. ... show more

  • Great Purchase great company
Style: T10
Bought this in April of 2021. Took 2 hours to assemble. Best gym purchase I’ve made. I use it all the time. Dec. of 2022 had a short in a board. Called support and was wow’d. I forgot to register it. They sent me an email and asked me to reply with a screenshot of my Amazon purchase. I did it while on the phone. They registered it while on the phone. It was connected to my network so they were receiving crash logs. He pulled mine up and trouble shot it. It’s still under warranty so replacement parts were covered. Email of shipping sent out within 20 minutes. They even put in a request to have a technician come install it. I told the technician this was the best support call I’d ever had and one of the best customer service experiences I’d ever had. He said he loves his job and company. They make it easy on everyone to be successful. I’m a Bowflex fan!!!!! ... show more
