I love this rack but the installation was a bit difficult as the roof cross bars wouldn't get close enough to nicely bolt the carrier. I considered drilling holes in the roof rails to allow installation of the cross bars but I did make the clamps on this carrier to slide far enough to fit.

Two of the pieces are defected and D6 screws can not be fasterned or removed. After a lot of work, I had to return it. I am very resentful that I had to spend all that time for nothing. This product has serious quality control issues. Many parts of the product has razor sharp edges. One of the parts touched my right leg and the made a cut. The vendor is irresponsible and disappointing for not alerting the customers that the product has dangerousy sharp edges to avoid injuries. ... show more

First of all, I thought this was all aluminum but it seems the corner structures of this item ase plastic. Attachment hardware supplied are not good quality: bolts starting to rust/tarnish while mounting plates bend when being attached tightly.
