When searching amongst various brands of roof top carriers, I found the BougeRV to best fit my needs. I read through most of the reviews, especially the bad ones and decided that I could deal with most of negative issues other buyers had with this roof basket. When I got the package I was very pleasantly surprised to find I had none of the issues described by other buyers. All of the aluminum parts were separately wrapped in heavy plastic and placed in a box with styrofoam. The brackets and all the various screws and accessories were neatly separated in their own zip locked plastic bags. The instructions identified all the parts, and they were all there. The basket went together very easily and as instructed. Many of the parts are reversible so you really can't put it together incorrectly. All this being said, it was the fit and fitment of the parts that impressed me. All the screw holes were in the right place and they had no trouble taking the assigned screw. The tolerances aren't perfect, but I would expect that at this price. Most surprisingly the design has been improved over the one in the pictures on amazon. I did not like the idea of the "clamp" design depicted in the photos of the basket being clamped to my roof cross bars as I expect it would damage the finish and pose a security risk. The new design uses the channel of the cross bars to hold a t-plate screw (see photo). The screw attaches bottom of the basket bracket and the T slides in the roof rails channel. This redesign also does away with the problem of the screw being too long for some roof rails and scratching the roof paint. Last few things. 1) The instructions are good but missing a couple steps. 2) This is all aluminum (except for couple plastic parts) so if you drop it or assemble it on concrete, it will scratch. I recommend the lawn or a blanket. 3) A power hex driver is helpful for all these screws, but don't over tighten. 4) I'm hoping that the fading black paint has been fixed as well, but I won't be able to report on that until after my 1500 mile road trip. A solid product that does exactly what it says at a very good price.

Pretty sturdy roof rack, easy to install and very convenient. I had some issues with the hardware, some screws came in damaged, but guys at Customer Service were amazing and fixed everything for me.

I would really like to rate this higher but I just can’t at this time. It looks great, much better than 90% of the wire baskets out there. It has a fatal flaw that becomes apparent when you are putting it together. It uses nutserts which you screw the bolts into. The nutserts that are in the aluminum pieces are fine. It’s the nutserts in the plastic corners that are the problem. I had 2 of them break loose before I ever got the bolt halfway in. Now the bolt won’t come out or go in any further. The nutserts just spins. If the seller wants to send me replacement parts they can get in touch and I’ll let them know what parts I need. I’d send it back but I can’t get it apart and I don’t have the box anymore. Really sad to have spent all this money for something I can’t even use. I have had a conversation with the seller and they were very helpful in this matter. After further investigation, it is my opinion that the 20mm long bolts are the issue here. If you are going to buy this basket, I would upgrade the bolts before final assembly.

I have reached out to the manufacturer who issued me a full refund, but still very bummed it didn’t work out. Customer service, 5/5, which is why I’m giving them 2/5 stars. Product is terrible! I was excited about this roof rack - great size, aerodynamic, light weight... but, as you can see, the color changed after a week. Originially it was all the nice matte black color (the color I actually ordered), but in less than 7 days certain parts became a copper color and it looks absolutely rediculous! If it was just the middle pieces, I could live with that, but it is the front, back, and lower outer pieces and it looks terrible. Installation was simple, but this product is not worth the money.

Perfect fit on our Bronco Sport Badlands with rails and crossbars. The 4 mounting plates came pre mounted facing outward, but my crossbar lengths required I unscrew them and replace the plates facing inward toward the middle, which was not a problem at all. I used the shortest clamp screws. I noticed no extra wind noise and screws and knobs remained tight ... no need for thread locker in my opinion. The color instructions were excellent and directed me to an installation video that was helpful.

2023 Honda CR-V: It's very quiet on top of the vehicle, both sets of bolts were too long for the roof racks and would have scratched my roof. One trip to Lowe's, while inconvenient, solved the problem. It's not really worth the money unless it's exactly what you're looking for. I paired it with the Bougie XL water proof bag for a trip. During assembly one bolt holding the front cross beam and the side beams wouldn't go in all the way and I can't back it out (it's stuck). This thing is light, relatively easy to put together ~30 minutes, and useful. Just all in all, not happy with the price point for what you get.
