This sun sounds pretty awesome. Especially at the price point of $160ish bucks. Now, I have found that since the enclosed box is only 7 inches thick at its widest point, this bass is a littler tighter sounding than my previous 12 inch Rockford discard enclosed sub in my old car - that one rattled the mirrors a little more. This one vibrates the rear view mirror a little, and I can still feel some bass. For an SUV cab, it’s plenty without hurting my ears and can still slap. I also went with the low-profile enclosure so it doesn’t take up much storage space. Overall a very good subwoofer purchase. I do wish it came with a detachable wire hook-up plug like my old Rockford fosgate did when I needed to remove it for storage space. But I found Scoche sells one for about $20. If you’re looking for a powered sub for under $200, this is a fantastic options ... show more

    • Decent for what it is
The media could not be loaded. Unfortunately boss just has a bad rep. They just do not produce quality gear sadly, mainly because of how much they lie about their power output, causing you to end up over working their product and it failing, or it isn’t putting out the sound you would expect from a “1200w” unit.. this amp is supposedly 600rms.. we’ll see, I havnt tried to crank it to hard yet, im also not looking for crazy bass, I drive an extended cab pickup, and this sub was used in a full install, new speakers with their own amp as well, and it is pairing good with them. I went for SQ on a budget with my build not sheer volume, so far I’m satisfied. I mostly went with this product for a space saving all in one unit, not because boss makes quality gear, but it’s sounding pretty decent so far. May not be enough oomf for like an suv or van or something. Don’t put it in the trunk. Sounds good in my pickup though. 7/10 for what it is ... show more

    • Easy to install but not 1200w
This boss sub is easy to set up and wire into an existing system. It has a decent amount of bass, but struggles to hit anything below 100 hz. The fact that it's in a self contained package makes it a worthwhile add on for most vehicles with space to put it because it's compact and as long as you're not entering a bass competition, you're going to improve your audio quality. Now that said, there is absolutely no way it is 1200 watts. On a 12 v car system, P=IV so 1200 watts is 100 Amps which means it would need a very heavy gauge wire. Something 4 gauge to go more than 10 feet of wire. So that aside it's a decent sub, but definitely not 1200 watts. ... show more
