Our oldest son is a pro-level auto detailer. We turned to his advice when yet another hose nozzle bit the dust, broke, leaked un-apologetically, or otherwise caused us grief. He quickly recommended his favorite Hose Nozzle, the Bon-Aire Original, Ultimate Aluminum Hose Nozzle which actually is so well rubber-coated it’s metal construction isn’t obvious. The large rubber cover assures that it doesn’t scratch the car during washing; it doesn’t break if/when dropped or slips out of hand when wet. It’s large diameter makes it very easy to adjust from a trickle to a tsunami depending on the distance or force required. After a season of abusive car-washing, volume grass watering, and gentle flower watering the amazing Bon-Aire hose nozzle is still a joy to use. I purchased this product more than 10 years ago and mine is still operating like new. Granted, I keep this one in the garage when not in use (unlike my other hose nozzles, which stay attached all season...which helps to keep critters and debris out of the hose). It's nice to come back more than 10 years later and give a review that if you take care of this nozzle, then it will take care of you for a long time. ... show more

    • The Best part of Your Hose - Here's Why:
As I've written on my other Hose Nozzle Review recently, I have exhausted every Type of Water Nozzle's & Sprayer's, over the last 10 years. From the Brass, to Metal Alloy to Plastic & Resin Units, because I live in a "Hard Water" area, the Typical "TRIGGER-Type" Metal/Brass/Alloy Nozzle & Sprayers all will seize, rust & Crack within 6 months or less. It's very frustrating, time consuming and eventually, you always end up searching elsewhere for options. With the 2011 Spring & Summer Seasons ... which is basically 'year-around' in Hawaii ... your have ample opportunity to built or re-model your Home or Community Garden, and you have to have Functioning Equipment, and there's nothing to cut into your day or weekend, when you are faced with equipment failure ... it takes the fun out of the day, and then to make yet another trip to the SAME CHAIN or HARDWARE STORES, to purchase the very SAME Thing, over and over, get's a little redundant. This year I decided to shop on Amazon instead, and start the process of replacing some of the same, tired Garden equipment, hence, the Bon-aire product. Here's my initial review after a month of use ... and I will re-visit for an Update in about 6 months, to test the longevity of Bon-Aire Products, as well as , others that I am also using at the moment. * Quality - it's engineered and made from aluminum, stainless steel and high-grade fiberglass. If you have read any of my Product Reviews, you will already know that I ONLY prefer to purchase High-Quality, and on first impression, this Hose Nozzle appears well- engineered. * Built - Appears to be of a Heavy-Duty "Fire-hose" nozzle construction * Ergonomics - comfort-grip soft rubber, multifunctional spray nozzle has a bi-directional, patented 2-way Shut-off head feature. * Function - Marketed as having a 5-pattern spray nozzle. NOTE - This 5-pattern spray capability is ONLY obvious if you have a HIGH-PRESSURE Home Water System. If you don't, then you WILL be disappointed, by a weak stream, so on one of the properties, I make sure that all Outdoor faucets are turned-off, BEFORE, I use it. You WILL Notice that It DOES Move a large amount of Water through it! TIP - I take it off after each use, so to make sure that our "corrosive" water is not in contact with it, all the time. Review of Bon-Aire Original Ultimate Aluminum Hose Nozzle (Colors may vary) @ $28.99 at time of order. I’ve tried lots of different types of hose nozzles. I reviewed quite a few before ordering this one. Experience has taught me that the fireman’s type of nozzle, like this one, end up working the best and the longest. I take my hoses/nozzles off the spigots in the winter and usually store them in my garage. That helps some, but this fireman’s nozzle type still seems to hold up best. This one feels really well made. It’s heavy, but not overly. It feels solid and durable. The varying color that I got was most like the one pictured above in the ad. It fit on the hose end without any difficulties. I really like that this twists on and off from either way you twist (2-way shut-off). The documentation on the page says it’s made in China; mine is labeled as made in Taiwan. So, you’re not getting US made here. It claims to have 5 patterns, but it seemed like it was just more variable to me rather than 5 distinct patterns. It works quite well, so far anyway. It’s expensive, but I feel it will be worth it as long as it holds up. Brief instructions come with it for use and cleaning if that becomes necessary to help the flow. And I did use this on the recommended hose size (5/8 inch), so the water flow was very good. The nozzle turned very smoothly too. ... show more

    • Worth the money!
Product is fine. Good water pressure, fits hose fine, and the size is correct. Ive used these on jobs and I know how to fix them if they start to be hard to turn. (Just needs a little grease ) then is smooth turning again. As far as weight goes its normal. This is the 2nd one I've owned and I love it. My only issue was the box it was packed in was open when I found it hidden behind my cannas at the gate. Im sure who over opened it checked it and I hope they decided to buy one. ... show more

I don't remember if I wrote a review of the Bon Aire hose nozzle when I bought it; we buy a lot from Amazon and it's hard to keep up. I had to contact the company recently, and I felt compelled to make sure that I shared my experience. I bought one of these and was so pleased with it, that I almost immediately bought another one for my front yard too. It is solidly built and feels like a quality tool when you use it. It operates smoothly and the variety of water streams it produces is excellent. A slight turn of the head gives you a nice variety of spray patterns. They are not preset patterns, so you can adjust to exactly what you need. You can easily get a jet, a variety of sprays, and a bubbling stream perfect for watering a tree. With my water pressure, I get a jet of roughly thirty feet. When you twist it to off, there is no leaking. If I have any criticism, it is that I can't get a very fine mist for watering really delicate garden plants. The spray is pretty fine, but not ultra fine. This spring, I left the head on my garden hose and it froze hard overnight. It was still working after it froze, but the freeze must have cracked the internal parts. I dropped it on my lawn to do something and soon noticed that it was leaking. I looked up the company on the internet and gave them a call hoping that I could buy parts to repair it. I told the person on the phone what had happened, including that I had frozen it. She asked me what part of the nozzle was broken, where I purchased it, and for my home address. She then said, we'll get those right out to you. No bill, really no questions. A couple days later I got a little package in the mail. It had the whole (fully assembled) core of the nozzle, which included the back half where the hose attaches. There were two extra sets of O-rings and assembly lube in little envelopes. There was another package of assembly lube and two sheets of very clear instructions. Really, most of this was overkill. It was so easy to fix that the instructions were almost not necessary. I removed the stainless screw in the spray end with a hex wrench and unscrewed the damaged core. I applied the lubricant and reassembled it the way I took it apart. It took about two minutes including reading the instructions. I don't buy many things that I am %100 percent happy with. If I couldn't have gotten parts for the nozzle, I would have bought another. I was tremendously impressed with Bon Aire's customer service. If you have a garden hose at home, you should have one of these. I would seriously consider giving someone one of these as a gift, odd but true. ... show more
