  • Unit is outstanding.
This pool cover water remover is great, works exactly like it should. You do not have to monitor this unit, when the water is removed it turns itself off. We have a fairly large pool and this pump removes almost all of the water from the pool cover, allowing the sun to do the rest. Highly recommend.

  • Great Customer Service
I did not use this pump until after the 30 day Amazon replacement period had expired. When I did try and use it it did not work. Amazon could not help so I contacted Blue Wave who then immediately sent out a replacement with no questions asked. They did not even request the bad one to be sent back. The replacement pump is working fine. The 5 stars are for the excellent customer service ... show more

  • Leave and Forget...Almost (Update)18May2022
***UPDATE*** The Unit has quit after about 1 Year-Could not revive it. Change Rating to 1 Star. ***(UPDATE) I do like the Auto On / Auto Off feature. I like the fact that it sits lower to the pool cover and gets more water than my other pool cover pump. I do wish it would have come with it own exit hose. Hower, that being said I was able to use one of my old water hose that had been damaged. Like ever product they each have limitations and the achilles heal of this one is very small particles that seem to clog the foam filter pretty quick. A good wash with the water hose fixes that problem. To solve the problem of clogged filter I now take an old pool leaf skimmer (Fabric / Plastic of Sorts) on a pole and place the pump in the skimmer and make sure the top of the skimmer is above the water level which keeps the majority of both big and little debri at bay. I like the fact that I can set it and leave it especially when we are gone shopping or out of town. Once in a while i'll give the filter a check & clean. I bought for $49.99 and I think it is worth not having to baby-sit the device. Features: Warmth, Stretch and Thickness not a clue what they mean, unless they think you can wear it as an accessory to Christmas or Halloween Party. ... show more

  • The little pump that could....
I have a safety pool cover with a mesh section in the center. Early in the winter season it drains great but as the winter goes on and becomes spring the mesh gets clogged and surface water collects on the cover. This pump worked great to remove the surface water. In less than 15 minutes it was dry and all the water was gone. Wish I had it the last 4 years, it would saved me from a lot of headaches taking off the cover. ... show more

  • Inexpensive - You Get What You Pay For
This is an inexpensive and low-pressure pump. It is lightweight (tippy and suggests low build quality) and while I might be surprised, I don't imagine it will last year in and year out. Unlike other reviewers, on my unit, the float switch worked at the correct water level (starting automatically around 5/8" and stopping around 1/4"). The biggest issue I would flag for potential purchasers is the pump itself - it is not particularly strong (in my experience, though to be fair, I did not go looking hard for specifications). Think back to your high school physics and give a nod to Jean Léonard Marie Poiseuille and Daniel Bernoulli. If you need this pump to move water through a long (or narrow) hose, or against gravity (up a grade or from below ground), look elsewhere. ... show more

  • Great value for money.
For the money - it’s awesome. Was buried under solid ice and came out great. Pumps a little slow, but is adequate to empty 36 by 18 foot pool cover... but best value for money pump I’ve had and more durable then I would of thought so far. Better durability then more expensive pumps costing 3-4x from my experience. Bonus extracts almost all water, so only very shallow puddle left! ... show more

  • worked the first time, doesnt seem to be good quality
it worked immediately, but after the 2nd or third time I used it after a rainfall, it didn't work as well. The foam filter is not easy to change out. it doesn't seem to be working well at all. followup review: I used this after every heavy rainfall during winter season. it really only worked the first few times, and after that, was unreliable. the foam filter gets clogged all the time and needs to be rinsed--although it's difficult to remove the filter, so you have to spray off the dirt/debris off with another hose. ultimately, the water flow is slow, and so I find this filter to be useless. Also, it doesn't have a sturdy base, so it can turn sideways or upside down easily. This is a time where you need to read reviews and take them seriously. I wish I did. ... show more
