We set to install some new 1/2 window length curtains in a room we were mildly remodeling. Didn't want the current trend of round curtain rods, the old style flat rods would be just fine for this little project. Bought the curtains at a Fred Meyer, so we bought the the curtain rods there, too. The Fred Meyer curtain rods can't hold any weight, they twist and bend like wet shaghetti. Seriously doubt they would support a set of sheers. Tried Lowes', Home Depot, etc., all the same. Aargh! Searched Amazon for heavy duty, flat style curtain rods. The media could not be loaded. The rods are advertised as adjustable from 28 inches to 48 inches. They do not go to 48 inches at all. Not even close. If you are using it for a smaller width than these might work. My window frame from edge to edge is 44.5 inches. I mounted the brackets about a half inch in from either end so I only need to cover 43.5 inches. if you look at my pictures and watch the video, you will see that if you take the three sections to make up one rod and put them only end to end, they only measure 46 inches. How do they get it to measure to 48 inches? And in order to use them they have to interconnect a couple of inches so because of that you’re only looking at 42 inches and even with that, the rod will be very flimsy, and I’m not sure how well it would work. Would only be usable for the lightest of Window curtains. Too bad very disappointed and now I have to go return these and find another set of curtain rods. Disappointing. ... show more

I was pretty disappointed with how soft the metal was and how poorly it fit the included base brackets. I had to take my needle nose and bend and squeeze the metal ends tight to the bracket, kept falling off. I ended up going to home depot and buying new rods just like these ones for a dollar more than what these cost, but whre way more sturdy. ... show more
