Blink cameras are exactly what I need. I have been a customer of Blink for some time, I was grandfathered in without the monthly plan cost. Even with the monthly plan these are still great devices for the average home compared to similar services. They greatly increase the security, safety, and comfort level of my home. When we are away, the cameras keep watch. Indoor cameras can easily see if someone is where they do not belong. Plus they can watch for animals, pests, or visible service issues with boilers and water heaters. Handy devices that can easily be managed from a mobile phone. Setup is easy. Really a handy device that I now can not live without. The only complaint I have is managing high use areas like doors. I have to sign into my phone, access the app, and disarm the camera. Then re-arm it when the high use is over. I would like a timed disable feature and a simpler way to temporarily disarm the motion detection alarm. ... show more

I was fortunate to buy in early on the Blink camera system. Therefore, I have the included cloud coverage. Only recently did I find out just what an advantage that was. After buying my initial system, I continued to add cameras to the initial sync module. I ultimately ended up having two additional sync modules from systems I purchased after the original system. I was under the impression that all my cameras had to be connected to the original sync module to continue receiving free cloud coverage. I currently have a mixture of cameras to include 3-XT2, 4-Outdoor, 1-Indoor (2nd gen) and 2-Mini. I was using a schedule to arm the cameras, but I was disappointed that the system would not allow individual scheduling for each camera. I recently decided to use my additional sync modules to divide my cameras into different zones and allow myself to set different schedules for each zone. Even if it meant the additional modules would not include free cloud coverage, I felt the scheduling control would be worth it. I was happily surprised to find that even the newer modules set up under the original system included free cloud coverage. Therefore, I now have three different zones that can be individually scheduled. And furthermore, I can add up to 10 cameras to each module. I only ran into one problem with the setup. The second module I had purchased had been sitting in the box for probably about a year. When I tried to add a camera to it, it would not connect. I called customer support and the first person wasn’t able to help me. I decided to investigate the problem myself and noticed there was a huge difference in the firmware on the second module. I expected that the firmware of the second module would automatically update, and there was no way to initiate an update within the App. Since it didn’t automatically update, I called customer service back and told them the problem. The individual I spoke with didn’t seem to understand the issue, so I simply insisted that the module’s firmware had to be updated by them. It took a number of increments to finally update the firmware once the issue had been escalated to the appropriately skilled technician. I insisted that the customer service representative stay on the line until the firmware of the second module exactly matched that of the existing module. I wasn’t trying to go through another 30 minute hold and 20 minute update again. After the firmware was updated, I was able to add cameras to the second module. I will monitor the module to make sure future firmware updates occur. I realize that the cloud coverage or camera support may change or discontinue in the future. But for the time being, I’m quite happy with my Blink system. ... show more

I've used many of these as my main source of security on my business for a couple years. I do not like how a module is even involved with the system. Wyze, for example, has no module needed and comes with a magnetized option, under the camera, to mount in MANY different ways. Hopefully improvements can be done but as for now it gets 4/5 stars for me. ... show more

We bought a set for our home and loved them, so when we bought a lake cottage and knew we wouldn't always be there, wanted to have a way to monitor the house, and these are amazing. They pick up every movement, night or day, and the image clarity is tremendous. Every time the motion sensor is activated, we get a notification on my husband's phone, and are able to watch what's happening in real time. We've never had an issue with it not working, and recommend these for anyone wanting to keep an eye on their home. If you have pet sitters and are on vacation and want to make sure your pets are going outside or want to monitor their walks, this will let you know the time they go and when they come back. We've never used the inside camera to monitor activity, but you could use it like a nanny-cam for children or animals. It's fast and easy to install and a great value for the money. ... show more

    • I think Blink has the best outdoor cameras for the money at this point
I have had Blink cameras now for maybe 6 or 7 years, somewhere around the same time that I bought an Arlo system. The blink cameras have had excellent battery life, and in the odd case of one failing Blink got me a replacement pronto without a lot of huffing and puffing. Arlo is now end-of-lifeing the system I have so once they stop recording anything I guess I will be switching to all Blink, which is a shame because I like the design of the Arlo system but I'm not going to keep replacing $250-300 camera systems every couple of years because they want me to upgrade. I'm still using Blink cameras on the previous generation, and their app is excellent and can handle multiple locations at once. ... show more
