I do not know a lot about security cameras. This unit was specifically recommended by a friend for being fairly inexpensive yet simple to use and easy to maintain. It took me a while to work up the gumption to try to install it. Won’t lie. Once I did, I was pleased with how easy it was to get it going. Negative and why loss of star- I had to keep within about 15 feet or so from the window where my Wi-Fi sits or I did not have good reception. So many, many points of my house I could not attempt to install it at all. I brought it back inside to charge but have not installed it as I’m unsure where in that limited range would do me the best good. I wanted to view people coming to the front door so I would know who was here. This placement was just outside of signal range. I do not want to buy a Wi-Fi signal booster nor do I want to move the Wi-Fi system so these decisions have ultimately made me change my plan overall as to what I want to do with outside security cameras. After researching more, I bought another type of floodlight security cameras to replace my existing floodlights as it appears I only need the Wi-Fi to set them up and then it does not use Wi-Fi to work. They have not arrived but once those are in place, I will install this camera unit to capture what I am not getting from the new flood light security cameras. Or I’ll install it at my mom or dads home, if they want me too. They will appreciate this cameras simplicity. I was not keen on this idea of replacing my perfectly fine, but non security camera flood lights, as I’m a women with very little electrical experience and I did not want to have to get this elaborate. <<I plan to replace the four existing flood lights now, two of which are second floor height, so yeah, I’ll need a big ladder (go brave me!)>> However, once I saw the images on my phone from this little security camera guy, I thought it was pretty cool and I could see value in having a more extensive coverage of the outside for watching out for the kiddos when they are outside and I’m inside cooking and for general security of the home. It was clear that this little guy needs constant good Wi-Fi single which isn’t realistic for placement around outside of my home, so I would need something different than what this camera can do, hence the floodlight security camera seemed the best option as the wiring is already setup beneath existing units so no fooling with how to power the camera. I will have to pay a monthly service fee for the floodlight security cameras though. Kinda of a poor attempt to review without much use of camera yet, so I plan to update it after I’ve used it for a while. What I liked out of the box, was it is simple to use, image appeared good when checking options to install it (by signal strength) and holding my phone at same time to see what I was getting. I liked I could view images on my phone, there were not any wires to mess with and it held onto images later on when looking at app (from my attempt to figure out where I wanted to put it), it appears easy to remove from install area to bring inside to charge up, and I liked that there was not a need to pay for a monthly service to use it. I think the value was high for what you get and for the simplicity I was after was true to its word. Got to give it props for that. I’ll try to review more after I truly install it. ... show more

    • The picture is just great! - UPDATED - PLEASE READ END OF REVIEW.
This is an honest review so make sure you read through this before you buy..... Pros - The picture is amazing, just about as HD as you can get without having a 4K... Its really great... The app is fairly easy to use and you do have access to many features the camera has The cam does have voice and an alarm = also part of the cons The camera is rechargeable and does last at least 45 days Sharing the videos and stuff is easy with the app Totally easy to install as there are no wires or anything like that, just screw in the mount and put it up and you are done... Cons - The picture is so clear, but due to HD, you can only hold so much video in the cache The app is good, but I there was no slider for the sensitivity, If its on low, you barely get a notice... if you put it on higher it detects the wind! so you get tons of notifications.. For some reason it stops detecting motion after a while, I think it happens when the batteries get low? It does have a two-way voice, however, the speaker in the camera is too small, you can barely hear when someone is talking, and the same goes for the little alarm sound... Kind of like a siren, but its very low, I dont think it would scare anyone away. The microphone in the camera is not that great, my wife was talking to the maintenance guy right under the camera and I could not hear what they were saying. I think you need to be right next to it when talking for it to come over the phone. The mount is great easy to install, but it has a twist-on screw for the side, that holds the cam in place... this screw will most definitely wear out as it comes in and out of the Aluminum holder... I think it will eventually strip and not hold the cam upsidedown again... But we will wait to see if that is the case... Although the batter lasts from 30 to 45 days, that is all depending on the setting you have and how much activity is going on where you mount it, if you have it inside and you have the motion detection on and you are home a lot, the battery will only last a couple of weeks if that... and the memory will fill up fast... Then you will need to bring the cam down, and plug it in, and charge it up..... The ad says the battery lasts for 3 to 6 months... that is just not the case with this.... But it does last longer than I thought it would... So would I recommend??? - If you are going to have this in a room with not a lot of traffic or as a baby monitor it would be great, I would recommend this camera, the picture is just really amazing... If you are looking for something that is going to be an alarm type or security purposes it may not be what you want as its easy to steal, all they have to do is grab it and pull it down, then they have the cam.. So for personal use - I do recommend For business or pro - I would check others first before buying... check all stats. UPDATE - 1 star added for customer service trying to make it right... But keep in mind the product review is accurate in my assessment of the product. But it also may work perfectly for you.... This company contacted me after seeing the review and has offered to refund some of the money I paid for the product, they are willing to make it right, it does show they do stand behind their product and would be willing to work with you if yours does not work as expected.... In light of this, I will stand by my recommendation, this would be a great camera for inside and I would even say for a baby monitor as well as security cam as it does have a mic and speaker... ... show more

I have purchased 3 of these cameras and could not be happier with them. The most recent one will be replacing a name brand doorbell camera that can't hold a candle to the Zeeports. You can power these buy keeping it plugged in with the USB charging cord that comes with it or you can charge it and use it anywhere you want wire free. I use one outside that goes through the weather and has held up like a champ. I put an SD card in it over a year ago and it's still not full even though it records 24 hours a day off and on in a high traffic area. It has great wide angle vision and records in the darkest of nights like it's daylight. It records wildlife without disturbing or alerting them at all. Comes with a great little stand that can be adjusted for many angles that you can use freestanding or easily mounted with the included hardware (I'm a great grandma and I had no issues doing it myself) If you mount it and need to take it down to recharge (mine lasts about 4-5 days but it's set to record EVERYTHING) it's just a simple turn of the knob and it dismounts. I LOVE that I can drop in on real time feed and watch as long as I want choosing to record or not record as much as I want. My stupid doorbell camera only shows me a few seconds of live feed and good luck trying to figure out what your even seeing with the doorbell cameras night vision. Oh! it also stores and retrieves my recordings on the SD card for free...none of this, surprise! now you have to pay a monthly subscription to use the camera you just bought...I'm talking to you Doorbell Camera! OMG! I forgot that you can talk through it too. The app was easy to load on my phone and has been easy to use anywhere I am. Just buy the Zeeport already people...or don't? That way there will always be more for me! ... show more
