  • Very sturdy
It took a while to set up but it's very sturdy. It takes two people to connect it to the hitch as it is heavy. The on-off ramp is a bonus too.

  • Heavy Duty eBike Carrier
One of the biggest problems with getting an expensive, good quality ebike is that carrying these heavy suckers is difficult. Regular bike carriers will just bend or break. (Trust me, I've tried using them!) With top of the line ebikes weighing in at 75 pounds a piece, you can't just trust any carrier or you could kill someone on the highway when your carrier fails and your ebikes are hit by a passenger car. This carrier uses a standard trailer towing receiver, which makes it fairly easy to use. We use our Chevy Silverado 1500 LT with the standard receiver. That set up is rock solid, especially with the included carrier stabilizer attachment. Since the unit is made from very strong aluminium, it doesn't weigh too terribly much. One grown adult can install it and disconnect it. It's big, so storage is an issue if you don't feel like taking it apart (which isn't hard but could be more time consuming that you want to spend.) Putting it together was simple. I was able to set it up in about an hour and I am not a tools kind of guy. I love that the ramp has a built in storage location though I will say the two little plastic knobs that hold it on the carrier are a bit skimpy and we've already lost one which must have come off due to the vibration while driving. It's not a big deal since a couple velcro straps will hold the ramp in place just fine. The construction is superior and it looks great. Our only complaint is there isn't a rod in the center which you can use to tie down the bikes to avoid them from leaning. In fact we almost lost both bikes since they leaned over so far they nearly fell off. This is certainly a user issue, I should have tied them down better, and certainly the unit comes with a fantastic tie down system, but at the same time, sometimes it's better to add safety features to a product to avoid dangerous situations that uneducated users like myself unintentionally create. Over all this product gets an excellent review and it would get OUTSTANDING, if they add the center stabilizer pole. ... show more

  • Bike racks
I use this bike rack for ebikes. They fit great and the rack is built for smaller dirt bikes but work great for my ebikes. With the brace that is given for stability you cannot tell they are there.

  • Adds about 4 feet to the back
We bought this carrier for our fat-tire e-bikes. This is not a single person operation. You will thank yourself if you get someone to help put this together and place it on your vehicle. Once on your vehicle, the ramp is a fantastic feature for rolling your bikes on to the rack. The ramp doesn't store well on the rack after you've put the bikes on the rack. Be sure to strap your bikes down well. They can lean a bit while traveling, so if you are using ratcheting straps, make sure the ratchet is tightening from the vehicle side, not the back or open side. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY - DISREPUTABLE SELLER/MANUFACTURER
First off this thing is deceptively misrepresented. The headline is “Aluminum.” Sure except for the massive iron bar running right down the middle. Then the headline is “light weight.” Are you serious? This behemoth weighs in at 75 pounds so it’s like working out at the gym every time you load your bike up. A pain in the butt to put on and take off. But that’s not the real problem. The excessive weight even unloaded will drag the tail end so far down it will drag on any part of a hill. Picture it as a tow trailer someone forgot to put wheels on and you’re just dragging it around. Forget about ever returning it. Assembly and disassembly for shipping will literally take you a day, with at least 100 nuts, bolts washers, etc. Impossible to re-pack. But the cherry on the sundae? The disreputable seller/manufacturer that created the misleading description to begin with. Their response to my pleas for help: “the problem is your SUV not our rack. Have a nice day.” I ordered atleast 4 extenders/risers trying to get rid of the drag: no go. Great concept which is completely implausible in execution. You have been warned. ... show more

  • Not a good fit for our vehicle
Wanted to love this thing but unfortunately we'll be trying to resell it because it doesn't fit our needs. It sits to low to the ground and even putting one bike on it feels kinda sketchy. Going over any dip or slightly rough road and you can hear it scraping against the ground. If we had a taller SUV or truck with more clearance it might not be such an issue. I did like how easy it was to put together. And it is easy to store. Bikes felt secure when on there. But just overall we don't feel comfortable putting thousands of dollars of our toys onto it. ... show more

  • Very sturdy, but hangs out quite a ways
This is a solid bike carrier, but make sure you have at least the ground clearance of a half ton truck, otherwise it will hang too low. I removed one of the ramp channels and shortened the square tubing so it only accommodates one bike. Fortunately our bikes fold and we could stuff two in the back of our crossover. ... show more
