  • Great buy!
Cooling power: 6000.0 British Thermal Units
Well I feel like I robbed someone. Bought the Used Like New for under $100. It arrived in original packaging and didn't look like it was ever open. Its really cold right now but I put it in one of my warm rooms. Turned it on. In a few minutes the compressor kicked on and it was blowing ice cold air. If you can grab a used like new do it. I actually bought a second one as I couldn't pass up the deal! We will see how long it lasts but I can say it came in great condition and worked as it should. ... show more

  • Amazing!
Cooling power: 10000.0 British Thermal Units
Long story short...I've had several units that barely changed the temp. This one turned my space into a refrigerator! Easy to use and phenomenal cooling.

12,000 BTU WORKS VERY VERY WELL . Have a fan to blow down my hallway .. was a 90 degrees out made huge difference in an hour .. box was dented and damaged back of ac but it worked and too hot out to send back , will definitely buy another

  • A Pain but ended in success
Cooling power: 6000.0 British Thermal Units
The air conditioner works great. Not too loud. Cools my bedroom down nicely. The only complaint that I would have is the remote that came with the unit did not work. I bought $6 batteries from 2 different places to try to get it to work. It took a lot of back and forth messaging between me and the seller but I finally got a remote that worked 1 month after the AC was installed. It turns out the incorrect remote was sent originally. This was a pain in the rear but now that all is said and done, I am very happy with the AC and the price was great too! ... show more

  • Big and heavy, but works good.
Cooling power: 10000.0 British Thermal Units
It works great, but it is enormous and heavy. You'll need to buy a brace for it and it'll probably take two people to lift and install. Pretty loud, and has a little bit of a stink when you first start using it, but the stink will probably go away with time.

  • Many design flaws
Cooling power: 8000.0 British Thermal Units
Positive: 1. Simple installation, although the copy in the directions lacks clarity and specificity, and it has typographical errors. If you have reasonably strong analytical skills, you can fill in the blanks. 2. 8000 BTU is adequate for 325 sq. ft. master bedroom. Negative: 1. As others have noted, the energy saver overrides all controls: i.e., even on cool (not just auto), when it achieves your set temperature, it will shut off, then restart when the temp rises. The owner should be the decision-maker if/when to use the energy-saving function. The workaround, especially at bedtime, is to set the temp sufficiently low such that it takes much longer to achieve the set temperature, and the room is good and cool. Yes, you're using more energy, but, again, that's your decision, not the manufacturer's. 2. The functions written on the control panel are a very light gray against white. Unless you're a Peregrine Falcon, you won't be able to see them. How this escaped the designers is mystifying, on a par with neglecting to include turn signals on a car. 3. Decibels: at 65, it is quite loud. Imagine the sound on a plane just as it is taking off, and that is about the same level. There are other units that are around 45, but they are significantly higher-priced. During the day it's not an issue, but at night, even on low, you may find it takes some getting used to. 4. The remote: another design mystery. If the intent was to make it as complex as learning to play chess, they were masterfully successful. Again, with time, you can learn the system, but it is a slightly uphill battle, one that customers should not have to go through. A meta-comment: I'm not naive about these things. It may well be the case that its competitors have a similar set of frustrating design flaws, or perhaps they have their own permutation. So the proverbial grass may not be any greener over that hill. My guess though is that if you want to spend $500, you will likely find something superior. ... show more

  • Works great
Cooling power: 14300.0 British Thermal Units
It takes a little getting used to because it seems to reset to the "auto" position after it's been turned off, and I like the fan on high even though that's a little noisy. Quality of the machine overall is good. The ECO setting is perfect - both the fan and compressor shut off when the temp is reached (as opposed to most window units that the fan stays in all the time and just the compressor kicks off ). It fits a single window well, though the self stick weather stripping did not stay stuck. I wound up caulking around it and figured it would be easy enough to clean off when we remove it for the winter. The buttons are hard to read, mainly because my windows are low, but I took a picture of the control panel so I can blow it up on my phone and determine what light is actually lit. I think the writing on the label could be a bit darker and the LED lights could be a bit brighter. (I swear, I'm not going blind!) Overall, it's definitely worth the money I spent. Not sure if they recommend a dedicated circuit, but I think that should be the case. It draws quite a bit of power when the compressor kicks in. ... show more
