This was our 2nd attempt at purchasing an affordable stick vacuum to replace our Dyson that was falling apart. The first one was at a similar price point but have terrible suction on both hardfloors and carpet, not to mention one of its parts came damaged. So we have this Black+Decker one a shot. The reason why I bought this one was because it specifically said you can use it on carpet, most of these stick vacuums especially at the lower price point, all day for hardwood floors and thin rugs. I’ve used this vacuum twice now, so I can’t review it’s long term value but as far as immediate impressions this is what I think! PROS: Self standing, works very well on our mid weight carpet for being a stick vacuum, battery didn’t even lose one bar when I vacuumed my living room&rug and one bedroom. CONS: Small dustbin, wall mount doesn’t have anywhere for the charger to be incorporated so you’d have to just pick up the cord to plug in every time (not a big deal!), no way to manually turn down the auto sense suction, Overall happy with it for the price! ... show more

This does a great job in getting your hardwood and other laminate floors cleaned. It has good suction and is able to get things picked up against the wall. It is incredibly easy to empty out. There are no crazy filters to deal with. It empties straight into the garbage. Collects hair, debris, and general dust. There is a single attachment that does well getting in crevices around the home. It picks up what it's supposed to. The one thing I don't like about this that I wish I had thought of before purchasing it is the charging. The battery is permanently affixed to the vacuum. You can't swap it out for a fresh one and have to wait to wait for it to charge via the plug. It's kind of a pain. The battery life is decent (around a half hour) but it is a bummer none the less. This isn't very heavy, it fits in the closet easily, and has two settings. All and all it's a good vacuum. If you are doing a large space you may want to look for one that has a removable and multiple batteries. ... show more

UPDATE: 9/24/23 This vacuum is really good for rugs but not floors. It fails to pick up crumbs on my kitchen wood floor. It’s not a big deal for me since I have a robot floor vacuum. I’m keeping this but was rather shocked the company couldn’t manufacture a floor vacuum. It’s a fail no matter if it’s higher power on the floors. ***** This vacuum has solved many issues I’ve disliked in the past of various vacuums I’ve owned over the past 5 decades. I hated all my former vacuums except this one because: 1. Too heavy, bulky to store 2. The cord is always a drawback 3. Difficult to vacuum under couches, etc 4. Suction was either poor or too powerful 5, Purchasing debris bags was a drag 6. Hose in the way 7. Picking up metal object jams This vacuum solved all these problems and changes suction power on its own. It holds a charge a long time, is very lite yet with high quality materials. This product picks up everything like fur, hair, dirt, random stuffing from dog toys, random dog/ cat food and more. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, so my home is without its share of fur, dirt and more. The swivel head and ability to lay flat makes it a breeze to get around corners and under furniture. It has great suction and works amazing on hardwood as well as low impact area rugs. The LED light is a great addition and really illuminates the floor your cleaning. It has a strong suction and is so light weight you barely notice your holding a vacuum. Its also quiet, so it doesn't disturb my newborn as she sleeps. It stands on its own so that's an even better storage option, makes it so easy to put away or charge. 4 stars though because the battery life sucks. It took hours to charge. I had it charging from 3:30pm until 8pm and then it only ran for 10-15 mins before it died. Other then the battery issue, it's a great product and I definitely recommend it. ... show more

I purchased this vacuum after recovering from spinal surgery. Running my old Hoover Windtunnel upright vacuum was difficult. Especially on my stairs. This thing is awesome. It is nearly weightless and moves smoothly with no resistance. It swivels around everything and glides over everything with ease. I can vacuum the entire downstairs of my house on a single charge, and I love that it is cordless so that there is no cord to deal with. The attachment for crevices is easy to switch out, and works well for anywhere that the normal attachment can't reach. My 10 year old son tried out the vacuum and enjoyed running it, saying that it was "satisfying." I regret not purchasing this sooner. ... show more

    • A nice, lightweight vacuum -- with some room for improvement

Battery life: This vacuum has an automatic sensor to turn up the power over some surfaces, but quite honestly it'll turn on at random times and consequently the battery only lasts for 20 minutes when I'm vacuuming carpet. Suction power: Fine. Hardwood floors: Takes more than one pass to get all the dust off the floor, and some bigger particles it likes to bat away rather than suck up. Stairs (carpeted): A little awkward, and the joint at the bottom loves to lock into standing position if you have it at too high an angle. I wish there were a way to disable that or something because it's a nuisance. Stairs get clean though. Cleaning/maintenance: Easy to pop out the chamber and beater wheel for cleaning. Painless process. The instructions say to run water over the filter occasionally and I haven't done that yet, but tapping it against the side of the trash can seems to get most of the dust off/out. Overall: I know I gave a lot of negatives, but I'm happy with it, and I'd probably buy it again, but it definitely has a few problems I wish it didn't. ... show more
