My living room doesn’t have central heat or air. I’ve relied on this space heater for the winter months. My first purchase of this heater lasted 7 winters of almost continuous running. Pretty amazing for the price point! When it died I bought a different heater and just didn’t like it. Although this one is a little noisy (I’ve gotten used to it) the “quiet heaters” don’t put off as much heat as this one. I purchased this heater again, and received a defective one. With amazons easy exchange options, I had a new one the very next day and just dropped the defective one off at UPS. My cats LOVE laying right in front of this heater, and the grate makes it safe for them. ... show more

    • Nice portable heater, BUT...
I bought this to replace a different brand that starts with Pel.... from a Big Box store that starts with Wal.... I bought 5 years ago and it finally quit working. This one was fine for 3 days and then the Low Setting quit making heat, only the fan would come on even though the thermostat was working. No elements heating up. Smells like burnt electronics, maybe a diode or resistor fried. High heat works fine, but the smell is still there. I already burned the box so I have no way to return it for being defective. I would think a brand name like B&K would have better quality. EDIT: I did find a box for another identical heater I still had and returned this defective heater. ... show more

I'm a bit of a neat freak and detail person along the line of being aware of certain things. Heats good and could care less about the noise it makes giving where its located. The indicator light does not come on at all. So for elderly folks depending on lights and indicators they should avoid this.

We bought this heater for our living room area & it does a good job keeping us warm while we watch tv. This old house doesn't have central so we needed to get a couple of heaters, and this is a good one.
