    • Fantastic pro series catcher's set

I came into the season with 3 catchers and one of the schools catcher's equipment sets was old and tired. I decided to take a chance on this Rawlings set but it really wasn't going to far out on a limb because we have tons of Rawlings equipment and it has all been fantastic. This set meets or exceeds all NOCSAE (National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment) standards so you know you are getting maximum protection. I ordered a medium/large and my senior catcher is 5'9" and this set fits well . The mask is the star of the show. It is a hockey goalie style that fits great and has very nice sightlines. It took almost no adjustment to get a good fit. The chest protector is nice and thick and my catcher says that it's much heavier and a little hotter than his old one but offers way more protection. The shin guards are super tough. Much like the chest protector they are heavier than the cheaper options but movement is not restricted at all. Overall I have been very impressed with this catcher's set. I look forward to using it for years to come. ... show more

    • Really pro level gear
Color: Dark Green / White Size: Large / Adult
This Rawlings MACH PRO Series set is genuine pro level gear. Everything feels top notch with excellent protection and mobility. The helmet has a high impact shell with great sightlines and a moisture wicking liner that stays comfortable during long games. The chest protector features strategic padding with a 4 point strap system that keeps everything secure without restricting movement. The leg guards have ergonomic shaping with extended coverage and an adjustable toe flap for a custom fit. All components meet NOCSAE safety standards, which gives you confidence you're getting legitimate protective equipment. It might be overkill for recreational dad ball, but it's definitely a significant step above typical catcher's sets. The quality difference is immediately noticeable when you put it on. If you're serious about catching or play at a competitive level, this complete set delivers professional grade protection without compromise. The Adult size fits well for players 5'10" and taller. Worth the investment if you want gear that performs like what the pros use. ... show more

    • Meets all standards!
Color: Dark Green / White Size: Large / Adult
Good set for baseball/softball. It's a really nicely padded set with hard-plated armor. Some of the pieces velcro off or come off straps to take off for easier cleaning. All pieces are up to standard for most average adult fits, and it covers everything you need from head to toe. They were easily adjustable to fit around curves and such, and the helmet was very comfortable to wear for hours. If you need a HIGH-quality set and want something you know you can depend on, then this set is well worth the investment under the Rawlings name! It is super durable and easy to maintain; it will last years without a doubt. ... show more

    • Well made and light weight catcher set that feels very professional
Color: Dark Green / White Size: Medium / Intermediate
Amazing quality and durability for a Catcher Set. This feels close to what professionals use in the pro leagues. Amazing protection from the helmet and padding. It fits perfectly and offers great mobility and protection. The seams are well-stitched, and I couldn't find any hanging threads on the gear. The padding is surprisingly comfy. I love the design and how much visibility this helmet has. The set is also lightweight, making fast actions easier to pull off. It makes visibility and awareness easier during games. Overall, not a bad value for someone looking for a good catcher's set. ... show more

I picked up this catcher’s gear in Medium rather than the “Large/Adult”. I’m about 6’1” / 170 lb and I was a bit concerned about the sizing but I think if you’re right around a 39/40 chest you’ll be right on the cusp of the medium/large. I haven’t worn high end catcher’s gear like this before so I’m commenting with a bit of ignorance on the lower end gear. I never wore anything even close to this level of protection back in the day. The included fit card discusses adjustments in some detail so I was able to slide the chin pad down a bit for the mask and it fit as it should. I probably would have been fine in the Large though. Straight out of the box I basically fit the pads with little to no adjustment. The chest protectors were already set to the maximum strap length which is why I’m thinking a 40+ chest might be the cut off for the Medium. The shoulder pads were easy to adjust to sit more forward by moving the Velcro pieces. The knee/shin protectors were definitely long enough for me at 6’1” but I think my weight was close to the upper limit for the straps. I also didn’t find the chest protector too short at all. The piece near the neck is very hard so you do need to be aware that looking straight down can mean jabbing yourself in the throat with that hard edge. Overall, I was impressed by the quality materials and foam density (notably in the helmet). This is truly a pro-level setup with a pro-level price. I’m not sold that you need all this protection to save yourself from an errant fastball or ricochet but the nice helmet makes sense. I’ll leave that to those more knowledgeable than me to judge the differences. ... show more
