August 2023 - First, let me say, I am very happy with this vacuum! So, if you are looking for a cordless vacuum & have realistic expectations, this will fill the bill. (see my Jan2026 update below) I am small & my home is cluttered & so hauling around a plugged-in vacuum is a pain. I have hard floors & use a broom & dustpan or my shop vac for major stuff BUT for cleaning upholstery, under couch cushions, the steps in the garage & other minor stuff, this rocks. BUT it DOES NOT come close to what a plugged-in vac will do. So, if you are looking for that you will be disappointed. I knew that going in. I do not have kids or pets BUT I also am not the best housekeeper, so stuff gets messy. I do a lot of crafts & this cleans up well after them. I keep it plugged in & grab it & the fluff from rotory cutting quilt pieces is gone. It lasts about 15 minutes at high speed and you need to go over things several times to get a lot of fluff/thread off of upholstery BUT it does do the job, is light & easy to use. My biggest complaint is that the power button is right where I want to put my thumb to steer it… so it is easy to turn on & off & to amp up the power BUT I keep turning it off accidentally. Minor annoyance. Cleaning it is easy BUT not as hands free as they insinuate. I still get dust everywhere when I pull out the filters to clean them & it needs to be cleaned at about the same time the power stops. I clean it after ever use. The filters are easy to clean and I use a bit of soap & water gently rubbing to get the dust out of the finer filter so it isn’t clogged for next time. I make sure they are completely dry before reinstalling them & wipe the dust off the outside since it is plastic & the dust sticks to it due to the static plastic creates. All of this is what I expected so I am very happy with it. Update: Jan2026 - I now have 2 cats and I use this EVERY day for the litter that goes everywhere as they lunge out of their boxes and over the litter catching mats (Banging head on wall). I got extra white inside filters & trade them off after I wash the dirty one with soap & water. They have lasted for over 2 years (most excellent!) Sooo this little vac is wonderful BUT after 2.5 years it was making a high pitched squealing noise someone described as "screaming" and wasn't picking up as well... so I looked on YouTube & found a vid of a guy taking it apart & cleaning the inside (it is a vaccuum - it has other filters inside & it gets dusty inside) So I thought why not? I have tools; I can fix stuff. So I followed his instructions. Super Fab! It worked! Back to being normally loud!! AND I was able to actually find 2 filters on the sides he hadn't found. All of the ones inside are washable too. If you need to do this yourself > Look for the YouTube vid "Black and Decker Dustbuster repair. Motor loud. How to fix. Fixing a Handheld Vacuum Cleaner" and follow along. Read the 2 caveats & TAKE a TON of pictures as you go so you know how to put the wires back or you cannot close it after cleaning it - you can read my full how to comments in his vid as vrr3256 in Oct25 AND VERY IMPORTANT (1) you will need a #1 Philips head screwdriver (ONE not the size most people have lying around which is a 2) and the blade MUST be at least 6" long to get one of the screws in & out!!! If you don't have that, get it 1st. It is actually very hard to find a long #1 philips (who knew?!?) and a socket is too thick to fix in the hole. 2nd caveat - If you cannot get it to easily snap into place when putting it back together... you have wires that are being pinched & not laying flat. That was the hardest part... figuring out where the wires were supposed to go so I could actually close the bloody thing. I would suggest taking some really good pictures!! as you go. His vid is not as details on this as I needed. BUT otherwise it is a great vid and this is still a great vacuum cleaner!!

Wow, I have to admit how pleasantly surprised I was to receive a purchased product that works as advertised! I just received it today with very quick shipping (so Kudos to Amazon for improved shipping), and briefly looked over directions to get it on the charger and fully charged (as directions recommend) so that I could test my new B&D furbuster hand vac asap. I have several products recently purchased in prior Amazon orders that I'll be driving to UPS tomorrow to return and I wanted to verify if this product was going to be added to that list of returns and do so all in one trip. I must say that this honestly exceeded my expectations and let me be clear, I typically review a product for 1 of 2 reasons: 1. because it's a great product that works, looks, does as advertised that deserves recognition, and because I feel that other consumers should be able to rely on trustworthy feedback from legit Amazon members that actually purchased the products they're reviewing. 2. Because the product is horrible and fails to do as advertised, or customer service for that product is very poor or altogether absent (meaning you don't get a response from their so called customer service when you have questions or need product assistance). I admit that I won't use valuable time to review those purchases/products that are what I call the "In Between Great & Horrible Products", meaning not great, but not horrible. That being said, in the short period I've had this hand vac I am extremely pleased. YOU GO BLACK & DECKER, FOR A JOB MORE THAN WELL DONE!!! First, I love the design of the hand vac over all, it stands very firmly on the end opposite of the handle while charging, or you could lay it down if need be, because there is no bulky cradle used for charging as many other hand vacs have. It's very light to hold and maneuver and feels natural to use (even for someone that has physical limitations or back, hip, shoulder problems such as myself with fibromyalgia, bursitis, si problems, advanced arthritis, and carpal tunnel), as well as how easy it is to use the 2 accessories. The built in extended crevice tool which you simply slide/pull out to use as needed, and the ingenious designed brush attachment with rubber type bristles great for picking up hair and fur, and it is a motorized brush that actually works as intended, it DOESN'T require any type of upper body or hand strength to attach the brush either, as it very easily clicks into place when attaching it and can be removed just as easily. After the charging process completes for the initial use (which btw was very simple to do by plugging the small charging adapter into an electrical outlet after plugging the other end of the adapter cable into the hand vac) the battery light located by the power button on the hand vac indicates when it's fully charged. Simply remove the charging adapter plug from the hand vac and you're all set, ready to clean everything & anything your heart desires. In the short time I had the product today after it was fully charged, I was actually looking for things to clean in addition to the cleaning tasks I purchased this hand vac for (cleaning pet/cat hair off furniture, steps, cushions, etc and for cleaning up kitty litter that unfortunately gets tracked throughout my entire home in addition to the surrounding areas of my litter robots and spare litter pan, no matter what type, brand, priced, etc of litter I purchase (as I've tried them ALL).. This hand vac allowed me to clean numerous areas with litter and pet hair both, and did so very quickly and easily without breaking my back in the process! And the battery still had plenty of charge remaining if I had more to clean. I'm also very grateful that this hand vac is no where near as loud as all of my previous hand vacs were (at least the ones that worked well anyway). Keep in mind this is my initial review after 1 day of using this product so I'll be sure to update my review in a few months from now to confirm if its still working as well as it did today, if the battery works and lasts as advertised, or if I discover any additional pros and cons. In this review I gave battery life only 4 stars just for the time being,. However, once I've had time to use the hand vac long enough to drain the battery entirely, I'll update whether it deserves 5 stars or less than my initial 4 stars for the battery. Overall, I give this product 5⭐ and I would highly recommend it to anyone that has pets, or anyone with physical limitations that has little body strength and needs a dependable user friendly hand vac!

I normally don't leave reviews but I felt the need to leave one for this. I was spending a lot of time trying to find the best and reasonable priced battery powered vacuum with the motorized brush attachment. The battery isn't terrible but wish it was longer but isn't much of a nuisance. Overall it seems to get about 15 to 20 minutes of use with the brush. It's best to just plug it in when done with it so the battery is always charged. This will not work if you try to use it while charging. As far as how it function it's worked very well so far. The suction without the brush works well but the motorized brush is what makes this vacuum. It does a great job getting hair or dirt that is stuck in carpet or fabric. The only part that I dislike about the brush is if you push too hard the brush may turn off and you have to restart the vacuum again for the brush to work. The brush also doesn't work with the extension that slides out. Overall I'm happy with this purchase for it's price. It's always great to have a decently strong portable vacuum that is light and easy use for cars, pets, stairs, and any random cleaning. I feel this is a 4 to 4.5 out of 5 and worth a buy.

I had a very old Shark hand vacuum that was past ready for retirement. Its brush roller attachment's drive gear had broken so that part had been useless for some time. Looking for alternatives I came upon this Black and Decker pet vacuum, and despite a few negative reviews it looked like just what I needed. After receiving the box I dived right in and checked out my new toy, and I have to say the negative reviews appear to be groundless. We have a cat, so there is plenty of pet hair on which to test the brush roller attachment, and the rubber roller is VERY effective. Cleaning up shed fur off the bedspread was quick, easy, and left zero hairs behind. Impressive. The built-in extension nozzle is plenty long enough, and because it's integrated you don't have to worry about it falling out during use or getting lost. Suction power is quite good, with the unit easily picking up cat litter, small leaves, bugs, and all the usual household dust and debris during my testing, even on the regular setting (a second power button press activates "turbo boost"). Battery life has been great so far, after an overnight charge I put the vacuum through its paces on a number of cleanup jobs around the house including stairs, and the battery indicator has yet to even drop a bar. Rating is twenty minutes of run time on a full charge, should be plenty for household cleanups. The dust chamber is also very easy to clean, with the lid hinged to drop open and stop instead of flapping back and forth. Hold it over the trash and drop all that dirt right in. Pet hair tends to clump in the chamber which makes it easy to pull out for disposal. The filter itself is simple to remove, disassemble, and clean, and can even be rinsed and reused, a great feature. Overall I am very happy with the purchase of this vacuum and would definitely buy it again. The only negatives I identified are the power button being too easy to accidentally activate (would be nice if it was recessed a bit), and I wish it had a brush nozzle attachment. But these gripes are minor. If you have pets and the associated shed hair, this vacuum is a great choice for cleaning up after them, and you too.

I'm a single guy who lives alone, so I really don't make much of a mess other than some crumbs and dirt that I track inside. The two miniature panthers I live with; however, are disgusting heathens who leave hair, more hair, and even more hair all over the place. I was looking for something that would allow me to take care of quick messes instead of breaking out the evil vacuum that gives the panthers night terrors: my pizza crumbs, or perhaps a glob of hair that one certain panther likes to leave behind every so often. So I thought I did some good research and found the right dust buster for me. I read tons of reviews, both good and bad, checked out the specs, and even looked at what spare parts are available since it could be a sign of what breaks most often. Boom. Sold. It arrived today, and my initial impression was: "meh". After a few hours to get it charged up, I took it for a test spin on hardwood floors, a countertop, some carpet, and a couch cushion. The second most annoying thing about this dust buster (I'll get the most annoying in moment) is that you have to cycle through both the low and high speeds to turn it off, and there seems to be a small delay in transitioning between the speeds and turning off. In other words, you can't just press the power button twice very quickly. You have to press it once, let it cycle into what sounds like a launch of some sort of space rocket, and then press again a second or two later to get it to turn off. This drove me nuts. The suction was OK on the hard surfaces, but it sucked - or rather didn't suck so well on carpeting and the fabric cushion. The most annoying thing about this is that the pre-filter and filter (they're connected) fall out when you go to empty the thing. The instructions and common sense state to hold it over a trash bin, press the release button on the canister, and lightly shake to get the debris out. This happens before the light shaking even begins. After a bit of detective work, I was able to determine that this is caused by the pre-filter. It's simply too heavy to allow the filter to remain attached. Aside from being the thing that will make you go fishing through whatever you just sucked up to retrieve it, the pre-filter does a great job of caking and compacting dust that will surely burn up the motor sooner rather than later. Third most annoying thing (only going to list three, but I could go on) is that there is no place to mount it, the charger is awkwardly designed - don't break or lose it (and is white?), and it just doesn't fit anywhere. It's not some sort of showpiece I want out on display for all to see, but who has electrical outlets in their hallway closet to charge something like this? You'll be stuck with this sitting out in a room, which isn't so bad when it's brand new out of the box, but disgusting after one use. I know some people seem to love this thing, but some people also take a lot of medication. Maybe there is a correlation there, maybe there isn't. My advice is to stay away from it. Far away.

I expected something that was better than the rest, at that price point but was rather disappointed with the performance. The sliding extender slips in and out making it annoying while applying any pressure. The suction is not great its just ok. Another annoying feature is the power button is sensitive and goes from low speed to high speed with just a accidental touch. It does however seem to pick up pet hair and I need that with 3 dogs. I feel it is over priced for what it does.

This is a great handheld vacuum. I bought two of these, one for the church to vacuum the chairs then one for myself to vacuum the pet hair from the house furniture and car. I can tell you they do a great job of removing hair from fabric seats and chairs. I have struggle in trying to get the in hair removed using suction vacuum to using tape to pull hair free. The motorize brush head does the trick. Getting into the corners is a different problem. Filters are very easy to clean and are washable. You can buy spare filters on Amazon also. Battery life is very good and recharges quickly.
