We have hardwood floors and recently acquired several Oriental rugs, which are lovely but made cleaning the first floor of the house into kind of a production. I hated dragging the heavy, loud upright vacuum all over, untangling the cord from around chairs and tables, plugging and unplugging etc. (prior to the arrival of the rugs, I had been able to Swiffer and much preferred that). So even though I didn't want another vacuum, I decided to give this one a try on Prime Day. I honestly love it! I am so glad that I went for it. It is pretty quiet--it's louder than a hum but it's not a roar. It's lightweight and easy to maneuver, and having no cord is fantastic. It feels more like Swiffering than vacuuming (although of course it's heavier than a Swiffer--I think it weighs around 9 lbs, so slightly more than a gallon of milk) in terms of maneuverability and speed. The light on the front is not a feature I was looking for, but it's really nice for showing the pet hair, dust, and crumbs you are about to suck up. I wouldn't recommend it for really plush wall to wall carpet because I'm sure my upright is stronger, but the suction operates at a great level: it sucks hard enough to pick up everything on our floors and to leave the rugs looking good, but not so hard that it sucks the rugs themselves up into it, which was another annoyance with the upright vacuum on the area rugs. The self-cleaning brush roll really works. I have long hair and it does not get wrapped around the brush roll at all. It comes with a bracket so you can hang it on the wall (the bracket also holds its two attachments), but you don't have to--the vacuum stands upright on its own and you can also just plug it in directly. All of its features are designed and function very well, so the chore of vacuuming is a quick task instead of a major hassle. I would say it takes maybe 10-20 minutes to quickly run over the floors (depending on how good of a job I feel like doing) vs. at least 45+ with the big vacuum. I read a ton of reviews of Dyson and Shark, and while I have other Shark products I think are great quality, the reviews all indicated issues with pet hair getting caught in the front roller, or other minor design issues/annoyances, and this one has none of those problems. We decided to bite the bullet and pay an extra hundred+ dollars to purchase this upgraded model with the 280W motor (vs. the similar but more standard model) and couldn’t be happier. We are in our 60s and 70s, and hauling our older upright corded vacuum up and down a flight of stairs is no longer easy. I’m receiving no benefits whatsoever for leaving this review in but want to say is this vacuum is a beast! We have fairly plush carpeting throughout our two-level home, and this model extracts an incredible amount of dust, hair, and debris that is not visible on our lighter shade of carpet. I’ve also used it on two of our area rugs and was equally amazed by how much it pulled from those as well. The clear advantages of this model are the light weight, suction power, the upgraded motor that offers a higher powered suction option, the front headlight (it matters), and the flexible construction that allows me to vacuum under furniture such as couches, bed frames, and nightstands, etc. I may purchase an extra battery for it at some point but am happy with the run time and find it to be more than adequate. This is truly a great product! I have honestly looked behind me to check on the power cord and the choice of suction levels is an excellent. The swap-able batteries allow you to vacuum as long as necessary to clean a large room or an entire floor of your home. The lights are bright, even for older eyes. Starting with the positive, this vacuum is very comfortable to handle. It moves with ease & gets under cabinets, & tables no problem. Also the light feature is a huge bonus, shows you dust and dirt that i couldn’t see without the light. Very easy to empty and change out attachments. The negatives, the battery life is not great , especially if it’s on high. The suction is not comparable to the Dyson, not even close. That being said, it is fine for what I need, mostly vinyl flooring, only a small area of carpet. If you have a large area of carpet I would not recommend. I am going to keep it, as I got it on Prime day for $200. I would probably NOT be keeping it if I would have paid full price! This is not a $300-350 vacuum. ... show more

This is an amazing vacuum! I love Bissell products. This is not my first Bissell vacuum, it is definitely my favorite! It is super easy to change from the upright to the handheld vacuum. I ordered the Bissell PowerClean DualBrush in anticipation that I would need to replace one of my aging Dyson V8's that are 10 years old. I have a Bissell Cleanview XR Pet 300W ($179) already that we use in our primary bathroom and are happy with how it picks up hair and dirt on smooth surface flooring. The assembly and operation of the Bissell PowerClean DualBrush was an easy task and I was testing it within minutes of opening the box. We really like the convenience of cordless products but also have larger corded vacs. What I really liked about the Bissell PowerClean DualBrush was its ability to pick up larger/heavier items on smooth floors with out it rattling around in the sweeper head or clogging the dirt collection intake. On smooth floors (as compared to the a Dyson V8) it seems to pick up much better in a single pass, gets closer to wall edges and picks up dust from the floor. On carpet this does really well with the surface layer of visible fur as well as toy stuffing, both of which tend to either clog or bind up the brush head in both Dyson vacs and our upright corded shark vac. Evacuating the dirt collector seems to be a bit easier than the Dyson without having to assist the dirt with your hand which is a plus. That is about the limit of what this does well. This is not a Dyson replacement or a corded Vac replacement. I vacuumed the same area with my Dyson V8 after I vacuumed it with the Bissell PowerClean DualBrush. They dysons suction power is way better than the Bissell PowerClean DualBrush. The Dyson V8 picked up the finer hair, the deep down dirt and the pet dander. The lower suction of the Bissell PowerClean DualBrush means that you will be able to vacuum your sofas without losing suction as well as light or rubber backed rugs which both the Dyson's and corded vacs struggle. Use case for the Bissell PowerClean DualBrush would be a daily sweeper to keep animal hair on carpet/non carpeted areas down to a minimum as well as a physical broom or dust mop replacement on hardwoods or smooth surfaced flooring. This product has a very large battery that could easily last 50 minutes depending on the power level setting and area of use. Value for this product is where I am stuck, I bought this on a prime deal for $199 but normal price is $359. If I am spending $359 I am in Dyson sale territory for a V8 and would rather have another one of those. On sale at $199 I thought it was reasonable compared to the other Bissell I got on sale at $179 the other Bissell product is 300w. If your house is primarily a non carpeted environment and you can get this for $199 or less then its a good deal. For me this does fit a need for picking up big stuff with out roller cleaning but it is not a Dyson replacement or a Shark replacement and for the size (and cost), this product it not a practical choice as an occasional sweeper for a bathroom. I like the product, it does what it says but I don't want to pre vacuum an area before I get out a real vacuum for carpeted areas. As a secondary vac to pulling out a corded Vac Dyson and Shark models do a much better job on carpet even if you have to clean the rollers. Dyson and Shark models do well enough on non-carpeted areas as well but this Bissell does better in that respect. I think this product is too expensive for what it does as compared to other products at the non-sale price point and it does not do well on carpets. 3 stars for those reasons. ... show more

I can’t say enough good things about this amazing vacuum cleaner. 1. LED light is a great feature, you can see EVERYTHING that you want to see and NOT, LOL 2. It’s surprisingly quite for the amazing suction that it has 3. I was concerned about the weight, due to some of the reviews I read prior to buying it. I’m petite and it’s not heavy at all. easy to maneuver and lift. 4. Great battery life, I was able to vacuum my 2600 sf home and still had battery left 5. We had another Bissell stick vacuum that we really loved. It gave up the ghost and we wanted another one. Old one was not available and other brands did not impress us. This vacuum was a great find. It is powerful, quiet and handles multiple surfaces with ease. The battery lasts for about 45 minutes of use even with the system automatically increasing power as needed. The battery makes the unit a bit heavy but not overly so. The bin holds a reasonable amount and will hold the dirt and debris of our 1750 square foot home. The quality is very good with a nice balance of plastic and aluminum. Truly appreciate that it is still standing, not requiring that you use the wall mount. Charging takes about 2.5 - 3 hours on a fully depleted battery, and the battery is removable al allowing it to be potentially replaced. ... show more
