Has a motorized beater bar, which makes this handheld vacuum a major winner. I got this to vacuum dog hair off the couch and loveseat, and it works great. So much easier than using a dozen lint roller sheets and still not getting all the hair - this vacuum replaces lint rollers for me!! Turns out this also works great on the thin washable area rugs I have too - which a standard vacuum sucks up. I do have to step on one side while I vacuum the other, but it works very well. It comes in handy for so many tasks. Granddaughter gets crumbs all over, quick and easy clean up without hauling out the big vacuum. Battery lasts about 15 minutes of continued operation, which is plenty for what I use it for. Or for small quick vacuum jobs it lasts days. Charges fairly fast. The filters are washable, which is nice. Fairly easy to clean. I don't run water over or into the dust cup and there are wires on the outside (covered) that the water gets into and doesn't dry very fast. So, I just wipe that out and down. I also purchased extra filters on Amazon so that while one set is drying, I have another for immediate use. I like the size, the design/shape of it and how it feels. It's easy to hold and handle while using. Easy to take apart to clean. I clean the filters outside and dump the dirt/dust into a grocery bag and use a small air blower to blow the dust out of the filter. Then all that goes int the trash and then I wash the filters and use a toothbrush to get between the pleats.

We're an old retired couple with a fancy Camper van and we travel with our dog, a smallish German Shepherd that sheds plenty of hair. So we return from each trip with a van that's a mess with dog hair. I clean up the bulk of the hair with a shop-vac, but it doesn't work well with small hairs that get embedded into the short nap carpet in the driver & passenger areas. That area really needs a vacuum cleaner with a spinning brush roller head. After studying the reviews on every roller-head small vacuum I could find, I settled on the Bissell. I would have preferred a plug-in unit instead of battery powered, the van has line power full time and I generally find line powered vacuums to have better suction than battery powered ones, and they usually last longer too since there's no battery degradation. But I could only find one corded small roller head vacuum like this, and it's reviews were terrible. So I went with the Bissell. Well, within the first couple minutes of use, the Bissell shut itself down and the red light came on. I power cycled it, but it shut itself down again within a few seconds. A closer look revealed it had sucked the little velcro style strip (that sits behind the roller} into the roller itself, thus locking it up. See the attached picture. I put the strip back in place but the issue repeated itself almost immediately. So I just took it off. In terms of pulling the dog hair out of the van's carpeting, the results were disappointing. I worked and worked and worked the problem areas, but getting it any cleaner than the shop-vac had already done proved elusive. I made a little progress, but not much. It's the real small, short hairs that get embedded into the low nap of the carpet that don't like to come out. The big loose stuff is easy. So at this point, I was dissatisfied with the unit and decided to return it. Back inside the house, as I was about to box it back up, I noticed some dog hair on our couch. I gave it a shot and lo and behold, it worked fabulously on the couch. In fact I ended up removing the cushions to do both sides and the back rest and everything. It effortlessly pulled up the dog hair and it also really pulled the dirt & dust out of the fabric too, everything was visibly cleaner. I was impressed. And it was a whole lot easier to use on the couch than our stand-up Hoover. Bottom line, it's so-so for getting dog hair out of automotive carpet, but terrific on furniture. Does that justify it's $80 price tag? I'm still pondering that question. But I've got 30 days to decide.

I have had this thing for 5 YEARS now. I am glad I waited to review it. I have nothing negative to say. It does exactly what it says it'll do. My only advice would be is to buy a replacement filter to have on hand. I have 2 chubby, furry, Siberian forest cats: one pure red and the other a torbie coat. Everything I own is black. Black bedding, carpets, clothes, etc. The red cat has his own pillow on my bed, and this hand vac has faithfully zipped up his fur every time with ease. Occasionally the brush needs the hair cut out of it, as I have Rapunzel length hair and my cats shed enough to donate to another being. This was $69 when I bought it around covid era. I see it's $89 now. Would i buy it again at that price? You betcha. The battery life is amazing and she charges right back up in a few hours. It works so quickly, the battery lasts about a week between charges. You'll hear the motor when it's time to charge. I recommend letting it fully charge each time and wearing it down. Once on charger, let it be. Let that battery life do its thing. Off topic but I highly suggest buying a rubber bristle brush also if you live with fur balls. It helps for blankets and such to brush it into a pile then zap up with the Bissell when ready. I've never used any attachments other than the rolling brush head attachment. I also have a black and decker hand vac for kitty crumbs, separate of hair. I hope my review helps many of you decide whether or not to get one. Bissell is always such a loyal product when needed, my favorite vac company. This hand vac is durable, collects hair and dust, great design. Sorry the pic is have is of a used vac, but at least it shows it's been used for many years.

Strong suction for a hand-held vacuum. I like the attachment with the rotating brush agitator, like a miniature version of the real upright vacuum. Multi-level filtering that separates the particle based waste from finer dirt, dust, dust balls, animal hair, etc. Recommend cleaning after each use. Also purchased a Wolfbox air duster and use it to clean the Bissell after each use. Runs for at least 20 minutes on a charge until noticing the motor slowing. The Bissell comes with three attachments, a rotating brush agitator, a regular 4-5" wide flat floor tool, and a crevice tool... I wish it also had a brush attachment to vacuuming dusty surfaces. Bissel should offer more that just 2-3 replacement parts. We broke the flat surface tool and Bissell did not sell it directly. Found on Amazon. Be patient while charging. the first charge out of the box can take up to 8 hours. Apparently due to volatility of lithium batteries, which this unit contains, the batteries are shipped with a very low charge.

What a fantastic vacuum!! My dog sheds all over the couch and before anyone sits, I was pulling out the big vacuum to clean it off. This portable, cordless vacuum is powerful and effective without having to lug out my big vacuum. I'm so happy I got this. So much easier to clean up hair.
