Better quality and more assembled than most DIY kits. Assembly was a little difficult with one person but was a breeze when I had an extra set of hands from one of my kids. Super nice to only need phillips screwdriver to assemble. About the only thing that I did not like was the screws going through the roof if it was going outside. After seeing a number of similar products and experiencing this one directly, I have concluded that you are better off constructing your own or paying a local carpenter to build it for you. The roost has already fallen apart, the wood is too thin and light and the screws were not long enough in some cases. ... show more

    • It needs a back.
This nesting box is attractive (hopefully to chickens too), simple to assemble, and fairly sturdy. I plan to use it under cover because the finish doesn't appear to be weatherproof. It really needs a solid back because chickens prefer a closed in space, and I added one of thin plywood when there was still a sizable gap when I pushed it against the wall I planned to place it against. It would also be better if the front openings were smaller, so I'll add either curtains or a panel with three openings cut in it. Otherwise it is perfectly serviceable and I recommend this nesting box. ... show more
