Context: I've so far split a cord of mixed ash and locust, max diam about 14". Pros: 1. Well packed. 2. Good build - all hardware was included & holes lined up. 3. Included motor oil and hydraulic fluid. 4. Engine starts after only 1-2 pulls. 5. Sips gas; fuel consumption less than 2 gals per cord. 6. Splits everything. Cons: 2-person build to get beam on wheels. 2. Hydraulic hoses very stiff risking cross-threading and O-ring contamination. 3. Inside engine mounting bolts almost impossible to reach. 4. Loud - hearing protection mandatory! 5. Wish the wood tray was a little wider and extend even with the wedge. All in all a great value splitter.

This is one awesome piece of equipment for a home owner who lives out in the woods! This wood splitter is heavy duty and is not made with cheap parts. Be warned though, you do need 2 people to help with the lifting, for at least 1 step, when putting this bad boy together. I am a 60 year old woman, but the main body is VERY heavy. The assembly is easy and they even have a video online to do it. Also, I had 1 issue the first time trying to start it, it was very hard to pull the starter and it would backfire and not start. One email on a Sunday evening to the Bilt Hard company and they answered within 8 hours. They told me there was probably hydraulic pressure buildup or trapped air. They gave me the simple 3 step remedy and sure enough, one easy pull and it started right up! It's been running like a dream ever since. Great product and outstanding customer service!

Extremely powerful and sturdy. Starts on the first pull. Quick cycle time. This can split logs larger and heavier than I can carry! The only issue I've had was a rubber gasket ripped and hydraulic fluid began to spray out. Easy fix, a minor hassle, as I purchased replacement gaskets from auto parts store.

Ordered from Sproutup. Was given a 4 day expected delivery window for 3 large boxes. At 2:41pm of the first day in that window, carton 3/3 was delivered by FEDEX. I asked the driver about the other 2 cartons/boxes. He said sometimes large orders are split up. I immediately sent a message to the seller asking when I could expect the other 2 boxes. That evening at 8:53pm I received an email from the seller that the other 2 boxes had been found and delivered at 7:37pm. I went outside and they were next to the garage. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE for tracking down the missing boxes and ensuring their delivery. Assembled the splitter the next morning and was busy the rest of the day splitting firewood. Only complaint was during assembly I found one of the pre-installed hydraulic lines on the actuator cylinder wasn't tightened securely. Other than that, everything was perfect. Great build quality. Started right up and worked for several hours without incident. Again, I can't emphasize enough how happy I was with the customer service of tracking down and getting the missing boxes expeditiously delivered.
