  • Great Learning Tool for Kids
Style: 4-Scene
I bought these 4-step sequencing cards to use during my work as an RBT, and I really like them. They are colorful, engaging, and easy for children to understand. They are a great way to encourage logical thinking, sequencing, attention, and cognitive skills through interactive activities. I especially like that they can be adapted to different learning levels and used with children who have special needs. A very useful addition to my therapy materials! đź’• ... show more

  • "Pretty Good" Made "Mostly Good" Thanks to Low Cost
Style: 4-Scene
Prekindergarten teacher here with 10+ years experience. Although we have several sets of sequencing cards already in our supply closet, I believe you can never have too many of this type of resource. These are great tools to help encourage a child's executive functioning, planning and storytelling skills. I particularly like when children place the cards in the 'wrong' order, but when you ask them to tell you the narrative they see, they come up with a story which makes absolutely perfect sense in the context of their own minds. At only $8, these cards are easy to recommend. I enjoy the different types of sequences that are available, including both scientific processes, self-help skills, and even more abstract problem solving (1. A child sees a ball in a hole; 2. The child brings water; 3. The child fills the hole with water; 4. The ball floats to the top and the child is happy). The illustrations are clear and vibrant, and the stories are generally fluid and obvious to how they should go. At the same time, however, I have to criticize a few things. Foremost is the cards' obvious lack of diversity. There are two non-white characters out of over twenty in the deck. This isn't malicious, of course, but the implicit bias here does limit the potential audience for using these materials. In addition, these cards are fairly thin -- thinner than even a standard deck of playing cards, by my estimate. And if children are handling and sliding and moving them around on the table, they are probably not going to last long. I was tempted to laminate them, but they're not quite *that* bad. And again, for the low price, I'm not expecting them to last forever anyway. In the end, these cards are mostly good, but not perfect. A nice addition to the collection, but they will not be the best set in there, by far. ... show more

  • Great tool for parents or classroom
Style: 4-Scene
Both my boys ages 5 and 7 enjoyed laying all these out in the correct orders. They both separately filled the whole rug area with them all in their proper orders and have done so again a couple of times since. Obviously a lot more can be gotten out of them if I was with them so that they could verbally tell a story with the pictures as they arranged them, which was my intent, but I didn’t end up doing that and they were still beneficial, educational, and entertaining. It gave my boys focused independent play-time where they strengthened thinking skills at the same time. Definitely a hit so far even though we haven’t used them to their full potential yet. ... show more
