All in all I thought the quality of this product was good. It felt strong, the ends rotated and were coated with plastic to protect the bike paint and they snapped into place easily. What I did not like was that the bar only locks in place when opened fully to the largest length which was longer than my bike needed. So if your bike is smaller, the bar can slide back and forth which I don't feel is as secure as I'd like it to be. It probably can be tied/strapped . I returned it for another one that is supposed to lock in place no matter what size bike you have. Hopefully it will work better.

Bike shop tried to sell me these for 100 each. even though the bar isn't spring loaded it doesn't even matter. once its on the rack and the down pressure is applied it isn't moving. have gone on a few decent trips and it doesn't move at all. not sure why people are spending the money on over priced parts

Using this to transport a 29" mid drive ebike on a Thule rack with no bottom support, two or three bungee cords secures it. Adequate strength for the 66 pound bike (check weight ratings!) , also using one with a lighter step-through. Easy to attach and take off.
