Listen, I'm a 6' 2" guy at 465lbs. The chair is incredibly solid and you can tell as you put it together. I sent many chairs to their heavenly homes overtime but this chair is FINALLY what i've been looking for. I'm most concerned about durability, width, and comfort. Period. The chair is pretty but i have read that the pleather (play leather) breaks down overtime. And you know what? I don't even care. This thing feels incredible and it supports all the areas i need supported for long studio sessions and long design or corporate settings. I'm so very pleased with this thing that i'm talking in circles. The instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. And the thing even has a massage connection activated via USB. That was a plus for me. I didn't even realize it had this attribute. I'm a guy that is tall and big so when i fly on planes i use a seatbelt extension and i avoid chairs with arms regularly because they cut into my thigh and cause pain and discomfort. This chair is the perfect size for me. Can't wait for my future studio sessions! Never seen a chair this strong with this much support at a price point like this. And it delivered on the last day of the projected window...lol so it was still on time. The box arrived beat up (thanks fedex) but the contents were undamaged! YES! (Napoleon Dynamite voice).

This chair is a heavy duty beast and very comfortable. I debated over this chair, Amazon’s 500lb and Hercules flash furniture and couldn’t really tell from all the observations that the more expensive was really any better and it was least expensive, and while not prime came within 3 days. It took approximately 30 minutes to unpack and assemble, 10 screws in the base, 8 screws for the heavy steel back plate to connect the seat and back, 4 screws for the arms, using common sense and following the directions by not tightening all the screws until you have them all inserted, resulted in no aligment issues. Plus using the handy little tool provided (which is all you need) and it went together with no issues. It’s very well made with heavy steel tubing legs, arm and plate with bonded leather seating. No plastic except for the wheels and perhaps a decorative cover on the base I love the fact that it’s 20 inch high without raising it (up to 22 inch), because 20 inch fits me fine (6 ft tall) with feet flat on the floor and no excessive bending of the knees. So there are no worries about the gas cylinder wearing out (at least for me and my previous chairs). The width is amazing 23 inches and fits my 300lb frame with room to spare. It has nice high arm rests (23 inches @ 20 inch seat setting) that align perfectly with the high of keyboard tray. The seat padding is comfortable with leg support, so is the back with my shoulders aligning perfectly with the back and with plenty of low back support. It tilts comfortable and adjusts easily. The wheels are standard but heavy duty plastic, I replaced them with some nylon wheels, without sharp edges, and it roll very smoothly, (I had them on my old chair, so my old chair has new wheels and they roll nice but wanted to avoid sharp edges on my floor.) So I expect that at the price, the bonded “leather” will wear out, as it did on all my old chairs, but I will be comfortable during that period and I am very happy so far with my purchase. I work from home and sit around 50-60 hours a week, so comfort and function is important.

So I used to have an Alera Ravino mid-back chair that served me well for 3 years. It ran me about 240 bucks and the faux-leather started to peel after a year but it was comfortable and extremely solidly constructed. A little too solidly constructed in fact as, during a move, I was unable to separate the cylinder from the wheel base no matter what I tried so I had to leave it behind. So new place, new chair. Unfortunately I can't find that old chair anywhere short of 300 dollars now. Selections elsewhere for legit-looking competition at a lower price are slim so I take a gamble on this chair, despite the broken english and rough marketing to say the least. I've just finished constructing the chair and have been sitting in it for about a half hour and I have to say it's doing the job so far. First off, there was no prime shipping so it looked like I was going to have to wait almost two weeks for this thing to get here. It shows up by surprise the Monday following the week I ordered it. So that's pretty cool. Now, construction is a bit rough. The visual instructions are pretty straight forward but the worded 'tips' they give you take some deciphering. The whole process takes me nearly two hours alone, a good chunk of that because I had to backtrack a bit because I forgot to use washers on the arm screws. The parts are pretty heavy, if you're not on the physically able side I would highly suggest getting one other person to help you out. I've built a lot of desk chairs and there were some pretty unique steps to this one. For one, the base actually has to have all its arms screwed on individually instead of coming as a single pre-built piece, then you snap the wheels on. These are all noticeably tougher than your standard office chair, though as other reviews have pointed out where the wheels connect to the base is designed in such a way that what you're attaching the wheel to and the arms of the base is actually connected via just three welds though they appear pretty thick to me. There's also the metal portion that connects the seat and the back. This thing is really hefty piece of metal, on other chairs one end would be pre-attached to the back of the seat but here you have all three pieces floating freely. Took me quite awhile to get that positioned as well. The most popular complaint is with the chair arms. They are pretty heavy and solid seeming, but I ran into the issue of the arms not seeming to line up with the screws. The key here, which they suggest in the instructions but with extremely poor English so I understand why many would have an issue with it, is to leave the screws for that previously mentioned plate connecting the back and seat a little loose. Make sure the round metal bits on the seat and back to connect the arms are exposed as much as possible, and pretty much use some brute force to get the both arms' connections over that metal bit which will mostly set the arm in place and allow you to drive in the screws. After all that I managed to finish assembling the chair, though getting the chair on the gas cylinder for one person was a bit tricky as the chair is again pretty heavy. A note that this gas cylinder looks like a standard gas cylinder to me and not like the stronger one I had on my old chair, so far it works but given the other reviews and the 90 day warranty I would've be surprised if either that or the aforementioned wheel connector is the first thing to go. So far, however, it's pretty sturdy. I don't get the other stories people had of this chair being 'for a giant' heightwise as it's very wide which is nice but the lift at its lowest easily allows me to sit on the seat and I'm only around 5'10. As I said, the chair is as wide if not slightly wider than my old Ravino so I'm pretty pleased with it. The chair does seem to want you to sit back in it a bit but I have little issue leaning forward. I'm also getting pretty sufficient support from the seat, I find it pretty comfortable. All and all (so-far) a pretty damn good chair for big and tall. If it craps out on me I will be back to angrily update my review.

I purchased this chair because I weigh 275 and I wanted something comfortable that supported me well. I've broken a number of cheaper chairs, so I thought I would try this one. It is pretty well constructed, and reasonably comfortable. I say reasonably comfortable because if the shape of the back does not fit your back, there is no adjustment to make it better. I find that after sitting in the chair for even a short time, my neck begins to ache from muscle tightening to support me head, The cheap chair I had at work could adjust the back so that this did not happen, so I think this chair should as well, but it doesn't. It was not too difficult to put together, although I was surprised how many pieces there were. I also found that at least a couple sets of screw holes did not line up well, so it was a fight to get all the pieces together. However, once assembled, it was pretty sturdy, and seemed to support my weight. I have bad knees and a bad hip, so it is hard to get out of a chair that is too low, and this chair seemed to maintain its height quite well. Then, it didn't. After about 9 months it began sinking occasionally. I thought I was not adjusting it correctly, so I kept with it, but it got worse over time. I researched the issue and found out there is a suspension part much like a gas filled shock absorber in a car, and it was not holding its air anymore. Since I weigh 275, and the chair is rated for 500 lbs, it would seem to me that the shock absorber should have been ample to support me - there is only me here - no kids jumping on the chair, and I guarantee I am not jumping on it! Apparently I either got a bad part, or they use a cheap shock absorber. I messaged the supplier twice through Amazons website, and have heard nothing back from them. So, to sum up: no customer support, shoddy parts, wrong weight limit advertised, improper hole placement for construction, and inadequate adjustments. I don't recommend this product.

I'm writing this review after having this chair for 6 years. I originally got it because I am a writer but at the time weighed around 360lbs and needed a chair that could support me. I needed something that was a little wider to fit my wider frame. I also have severe back problems due to ankylosing spondylitis, which causes my spine to fuse together. Here's what I put this chair through over the 6 years I've had it: 8+ hours a day sitting in it. Having to hoist myself into the correct position in the chair repeatedly by using the arms to support my whole body weight. Sitting cross-legged for most of the time in the chair. Constant adjusting. Flopping into the chair when my legs give out. In short, I put this chair through some rough use. The padding started to thin out and the fake leather crack and peel off around the 5 year mark. The arms of the chairs are wildly bent outward due to my repeated abuse. It wobbles a bit from repeated flopping. This poor thing is held together with duct tape and a dream. But every time I've tried to replace it with any other chair, it's just not the same. This is THE chair. It just keeps on holding together for me, still taking the abuse but not breaking. It's not as comfortable as it once was, but nothing a chair cushion thrown on the seat won't fix. It squeaks and protests at the continued abuse, but still it refuses to give up. I've worked hard to lose about 130lbs just to hopefully abuse it a little less. It looks like many other chairs of its kind and doesn't appear cheap or poorly made. It was easy enough to assemble and other than duct tape over the seat where over time the leather cracked or tore up, I haven't had to do any kind of work to keep the chair in order. It still provides a good amount of support for my back, which is definitely important for someone with my condition. In all, if you want a workhorse of a chair that is going to be there for you for the long haul, this might just be the one. If mine is still standing after 6 years of the kind of misuse I've put the poor thing through, I can imagine it'd last a lot longer for someone who was less harsh with it or used it a lot less. When i'm finally ready to replace it, the only chair I'm going to look at is another one of these. I'm giving it 5 stars because there's not a 10 star option.

NOTE: I recently purchased this chair again because I broke my other chair (yes it was me, not a defect) and I need to warn everybody that this chair has changed a little. The arm rests are thinner and harder and the seat and back seem more cushioned. The arm's aren't a big deal and still do the job well. I think I actually like the less padding more, since the old arms began peeling from being compressed and the material pinched. The cushion difference may be due to it being new and springy vs old and worn. I have always had issues with chairs always cutting into my MASSIVE thighs. When I got up, I would have large divots in my legs from where the chair cut into me. Some chairs, like the 500lbs rated Hercules chairs were the worst offenders. How the heck could somebody design a chair for a fat person and not design it FOR A FAT PERSON? This chair was fairsy easy to build, no worse than any other (use your brain and it's ez) This chair gives me a good 1-2 inches of space for my legs and its AMAZING. Previously, I was using the Cressfield/Osgood style chair. These chair are amazing, but I had sat in mine so long it was creaking and looking like it was about to break. So I look for big chairs for big bois. All of the most expensive chairs either looked uncomfortable, had no arms, or would cut my legs. Then I found this one. $150 and it does all of that. And let me tell you, this chair does not look or feel any cheaper than the $300 counterparts. And it's big. Spacious. And it sits TALL! I am no longer on the floor in this chair. I actually sit above my desk. It's only about 5 inches difference but I am typing way better than normal and I can actually see my keyboard because there is no screen glare. The seat itself is not so long it hugs the kneepits, which is good because my other 500lbs rated chair does, and it's uncomfortable. Basically, I am loving this chair so far. It's sturdy as hek. There were 2 hiccups when it came to building it though. The person who labeled which screws were which is an idiot. I kept using the M screw when I needed N, kept using Q when I needed O. Just pay close attention to the labeling and you'll be fine. Also, the arm rests were about an inch too long. I had to sit in the chair and lean back to get them slotted so I could screw them in, but it's designed to fit for wear, so it's ok. 10/10 WILL buy again. It's only a matter of time.

I loved this chair so much, that I'm buying it again after writing this review! I bought it after years of having to replace chairs every 6months because of my size(I'm 5'7 but nearly 400 lbs.) I bought this after a bit of research and after nearly two years It only gave out because dropped into it full weight, after a very long day and broke it. It was only just starting to show wear after 6-12 hour days every day, for damn near two years, this chair was very very comfortable I could literally almost curl up in it lol. The only flaw in this chair I would say was putting it together I remember it taking me like 6 hours the instructions were not great but I was able to get it eventually. and the arm chair especially the left on the unit I received bolt/Screw holes were not lined up properly I ended up trying to bend it a bit to get it to fit(all I did was injure myself that fracking thing was solid steel bar) in the end I had to prop the chair up and carefully using all my physical strength line up the bolts and screw it in, by myself. That too at least 2 hours by itself. another 2 1'2 hours figuring out the instructions a 1 '1'2 actually assembling. To be fair assembly does say you need 2 people to put it together but as that wasn't an option for me I had to make due. Also I ordered the Black Chair and they sent me a brown one (completely different chair) wasn't happy but the colors not worth sending it back over. Even so once it was together I immediately fell in love with this chair, I honestly more that once fell asleep for more than an hour at a time this chair is so comfortable. The price is absolutely worth it! Edit: Second chair I bought, also not the one I ordered as this one was a massage chair. It was identically assembled so I got it together in about 2 hours since I had practice this time. Unfortunate this chair was not nearly as well made as the first one I purchased, And was already broken after only 6 months of full time use. The first chair was my fault but this one was not, the metal plate that attaches to the chair bent more and more as time went on until it could no longer be sat in safely. Was very disappointed currently sitting in a 18$ Plastic lawn chair (made for 300 plus users) that I bought at Walmart last summer been close to three months (of full time use not a single issue. It's not nearly was comfortable but considering the price.... Honestly I could find out the chair they sent me the first time I'd pay for that in a heart beat but I'm not paying that much money for the chance to get the crappy one they sent me the second time.....

51 year old big guy, last chair was rated for 400 pounds, but while I'm up there (about 370), I'm not quite there yet. That chair broke, but mostly due to the recline only supporting one side. The resulting twisting that happened cause the back to break so it couldn't support anything. I wanted my next chair to not have a recline, or be better supported or centrally located. Couldn't find one, saw this looked nice and comfy and rated for 500 pounds it also looks like the fancy chairs you see in Big offices, never liked the whole gamer chair thing. On to this chair, it's very nice and very comfortable there is a slight side to side rock, but i expected it to have some. Everything attached to the chair is either steel or wood with inserts. everything screws into metal, so I recommend thread locker for everything you screw together, I used Loctite blue for my assembly. As far as the assembly, I did it solo in about an hour, give or take 10 minutes either way (didn't time it sorry). The hardest part was joining the seat and back together, I set them up like a pyramid (/\) and just moved them around (using my lower leg as a support under them) until I got the screws started), I left the base and everything nearby loose to allow everything to be aligned before tightening. I heard of issues with the arms getting mounted, but the inserts were very pronounced and easily got to, they were the easiest part next to the base and wheels. As far as the overall comfort it's nice, except for the lumbar support. There is no real issue with the Lumbar support, but it's my first chair with a permanent one. I've had the little pillow and just chunked it because i did not like it. Looks like I'm stuck with this one, so well see if i get used to it. At 370 I didn't expect the shock to even move when i sit, but it does move slightly (can feel it, but not noticable when sitting, heard it can eventually leak down, so got an upgrade on my wish list to pick up when that happens. Overall satisfied for now, we'll see later. As for the lumbar support, it sticks out about an inch, inch and a half out, it's just something you either like or don't like and have to get used to I'll update in a few months to let you know if it stands the test of time
