  • Very comfortable chair for TALL big people
UPDATE: I've been using the chair for about 6 weeks now and it's great. I've kind of settled into it a bit, so it's conforming to my body better but hasn't lost any support. Very comfortable for long days, no pain at all. All the bolts seem tight and nothing is showing any immediate wear. I anticipate this chair being perfect for my WFH desk job for a long time. It's day 1 with this chair, so I'll update my review later if my impressions change, but here's what I've noticed: First: This chair is comfortable. The seat is as padded as it looks in the picture, the back holds you at a good angle and is comfy to lean back against. The chair rocks easily with just enough degrees of motion to be comfortable without making you feel like you'll fall backwards. It's cozy but not hot to sit on. Overall, it feels great. Something to note: This chair is for TALL people. I am 5'10" and even I have to scoot back a little bit when I sit in this chair. It sits high from the floor even at the lowest setting. The good news about that is you'll never have to worry about sinking when the hydraulic fails someday. For most tall people, the lowest setting is still perfectly fine. I personally cannot imagine using the highest setting. The cushion at the front does its job of supporting my legs, but it also is the reason I have to scoot a little bit to get all the way in! The rubber castors are absolutely silent and roll extremely easily. It does seem like they also add to the height a little bit, so perhaps this could be changed if you didn't want to sit so high. Construction of the chair was mostly very simple. The one thing I'll note is that when they say not to screw in the bolts all the way until you get everything lined up, they mean it! If you tighten everything all the way as you go, you'll find the last two bolts at the bottom of the back of the chair impossible to line up. Give it some breathing room until you get all the bolts partially in. Here's another caveat for anyone it applies to - I love this chair, but if I could change one thing, I wish the arms were another inch further apart. The seat itself is 23" wide, but the arms are bolted close-in so they are only 22" wide. This is mostly fine, but I am a big woman with very wide hips, so my thighs press into the arms a bit. This is NOT painful - I feel fine - but I worry about eventually pushing the bolts out where the arms are attached. So I'd recommend this chair for anyone who can comfortably sit in chairs of 22" width, and are between the heights of 5'8" and 6'4". The weight capacity feels correct. For reference, I am 350 pounds with my weight carried mostly in my hips. If your weight is in your stomach you'll be slightly more comfortable than a pear-shaped person but ultimately I think it's fine either way. ... show more

  • Big Man’s Chair!
6’7 and 290 pounds! This chair is perfect and comfortable!

Color: White Style: Modern
The chair is well made and looks great. For me however it is too big. It is meant for taller people. I am 5'6 and if I sit all the way back my feet are off the floor. I need a pillow for my back and by the end of the day my back and butt are killing me.

  • Very nice chair. DEFINITELY for TALL people
As others have noted, the seat of this chair is very deep. I'm 6'4 and if I tuck back into it, the back of my knees is pressed against the front of the seat. I've seen some complains in reviews stating that the standard lift cylinder is too short. I disagree. Again, 6'4" tall. if I raise the cylinder to the top and lean back, my feet come well off the ground. When its all the way down, my feet lay lightly on the floor when leaned back. I do have two minor complains, however: 1. The recline tension adjustment knob doesnt seem to doo much. When fully engaged, the chair still just falls back if unlocked. If I lean back and pick my feet up, it stays back. Of course, I am not just a Tall man, I am also a Big man. 270lbs... So that might play a role. lol 2. It doesnt recline quite as much as I'd like it to. When leaned back all the way, you still feel like you're sitting up. It's hard to measure, but i think it only rocks about 15 degrees. My old chair was more like 25 or 30. It's enough to be more relaxing than an upright posture, but not enough to kick your feet up on your desk and take a well-deserved post-TPS-report nap. I've been putting these roller blade wheel casters on my computer chairs since the early 2000's so I'm not really taken in by that feature, but if you've only been using standard casters your whole life, that alone is probably worth the upgrade! (Or you can just buy a set of casters on amazon... but let's be honest, you wouldn't be reading chair reviews if you didn't need a new chair.) I'll update this review if anything breaks, but so far, even with the complaints, It's a great chair. Very comfortable. Great back support (even with the lumbar adjustment at minimum). And just tall enough to rest my head back on the top of the back. If you're under 6" and want to feel like a small child, or over 6'2", i'd guess, and want to finally have a chair that you fit in, I definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Breaks down after use
Update: Hamaoka support reached out to me and has resolved my issue. I am very satisfied with the support from them and making this process and smooth as possible! I am no longer upset about my purchase! Thank you for the communication. First off: Chair is comfy, wide enough to fit a 6'3 260lbs man comfortably. Arm rests are supportive, however they are fixed, this can mess with your desk height. The riser on the chair I wish was higher, my knees do not sit at a 90 degree angle as this is short. After 8 months of use, this chair is falling apart to an extent. The chair leans to the right a significant amount, about 2 inches, when measured with the arm rests under my desk. It is not ergonmimic at all. This is a great chair for executives who can lounge, but the person who is sat in it for 8hrs a day, it does not support your lower, mid or upper back. Also the lever to adjust height is extremely bendable metal, as this is advertised as a heavy duty chair, it is incredibly weak and bends after daily use of the chair, which in turn causes the chair (when it a locked upright position) to recline slightly backwards. This is HORRBILE for your back and neck and you are no longer sitting up straight and in an ergonomic position. TLDR: Chair is great and comfy and big enough. Wish the riser was taller as this is advertised as big and tall, and over time the adjustment lever bends, and chair leans to the right which makes this ergonomically terrible. If you are spending this type of money on a chair, just buy a standing desk or a herman miller or some chair that has better ergonomics. ... show more
