  • Inflatable that works in winter? Upgraded from an Intex Inflatable Spa.
Style: Helsinki (Standard)
We previously had an intex inflatable spa and was hit with the dreaded E90 error. Usually it was just air in the line but it finally died after only 1 and a half summers. We decided to “upgrade” and get the Helsinki from Saluspa. I love the thinner wall design. It’s feels more sturdy than our previous thicker inflatable! On top of that it is advertised as usable in all 4 seasons. We live in Ohio and it gets cold so we will see. Setup was simple. Similar to others. Heated up to 104 in 24 hours so no problem there. Bubbles massage works great. If I had any complaints it would be that my previous cup holders do not fit due to the thinner wall. Other than that this has been a great upgrade and we are looking forward to using it all year long. Cosmetically it looks awesome. I wasn’t sure about the “wood” look but it looks way better in person. My wife said “this one looks way more expensive than out last one” and it does. It has a smaller footprint than our previous but holds as much of not a little more water. Plus no pad for the bottom, because it’s already built into the tub. We love that! Very soft to sit on. So far we highly recommend this over the Intex Spa but time will tell. I will update as we go and try to answer any questions I can. UPDATE: 9/7/20 This tub actually does work through the winter! We had no problems keeping temps up. It did drop a little faster when we got in during the cold but that was to be expected and honestly for as long as we stayed in (30 Mins) it’s fine. UPDATE: Sadly after my last update we were sitting in the spa when suddenly the bubbles started flowing out the side of it (spa was not on) the seam at the bottom where the wall meets the floor ripped! We emptied the spa and I have tried to patch it with vinyl and HH-66 Vinyl Cement but it isn’t working well. Contacted support and was told Spa was no longer under warranty (after just over a year) so it looks like I’m screwed. We loved the spa when it was here so I am trying to decide if I want to invest in it again after error message months ago (replaced by warranty) and now a seam rip. I’m not sure if the investment overall is going to be worth it. It’s great while running but buy with caution knowing that it wasn’t without problems. I bought mine at $700 on Amazon. I have seen them over $1000 and my advice is even fully working do NOT purchase at that price. UPDATED: 12/22/23 So I bit the bullet and bought ANOTHER spa from this company. After 13 months it also had a leak. This was the expensive Santorini model. The model itself is awesome! Built in seats, water powered lighting. We loved this hot tub. The problem is these things are not built to last. I have tried and tried to make it work but my advice is to avoid this type of hot tub and look towards something a bit more sturdy. I may be trying a Wave Spas Eco Foam tub next. I will update when I have a good feel for how it goes. ... show more

  • Worth the money and with a little “add on” up-levels this hot tub
Style: Helsinki (Standard)
I’m not one to leave reviews typically but we bought our Helsinki Saluspa right before Thanksgiving and I must say..we got more than we expected and it’s been totally worth the money! We live in NH so get pretty bitter cold winters! If you are willing to invest a little time and money you can overwinter this thing and enjoy it Year round! My husband bought a portable - propane camp water heater. As other reviews have stated - this struggles to stay hot. We just hook that up with the two hoses - one takes in the tub water while the other cycles hot water back in and it heats up super fast! Total investment was probably $150 and we used this right through the winter with 104 temp water even in the bitter cold. It takes the pressure off your electric Bill too as the heating unit the tub comes with is pretty basic. My husband also built a insulated surround for the pump - this could be done with pretty basic skills..he just used insulation material and put foam board around it) it overwintered like a champ! I honestly didn’t expect this hot tub to last but we have enjoyed it pretty much every day and it’s still working great! For the cost of renting an Airbnb with a hot tub for the weekend - we decided to do this instead and have no regrets! My only complaints would be that you have to change the filter a LOT. It will give you an E302 error message and stop working if you don’t keep it going with a clean filter. I guess that means the filter is working but just an FYI on that. Otherwise we are happy. The bubbles are also stronger than we expected which is great! Another bonus of that propane heater is that when you use the jets..it doesn’t cool down as quick. The extra time and money is worth every penny! Update: still happy that we bought this spa as our “gateway” hot tub - but she started to leak after a year and had a hard time maintaining the temp. We decided - “hey..we are hot tub people now” and found a nice plug and play on Facebook marketplace for $1600 and absolutely love it, also saving a lot on electricity since this one is well insulated. We get super harsh winters in NH (we just had 3 feet fall!) so happy with our upgrade. If you go into the purchase of this one thinking it’s going to be a “fun while it lasts” purchase go for it. If you are looking for something with longevity - you might want to consider a different avenue. ... show more

  • Love Hate relationship with this energy hog
Style: Helsinki (Standard)
It shipped promptly. It was easy to set up. We put down two sheets of 2" insulation foam to make an 8'x8' pad for this spa, with a plastic rug on the foam sheets, so it would be extra insulated from the cold ground. We live in California, and it rarely gets colder than 40' F at night. As you can see from the charts, this has been an energy hog from the beginning. Our home's daily use spiked up when we installed this on Nov 23rd. My energy bill for January was $422, we're used to maybe $150 in the winter months including the furnace & dehumidifiers compared to our cheaper summers. I was hoping it would be a short term energy hog while getting up to temp, but no, this is how it normally operates. That drop in the second chart is where it failed and shut off while we were out of town (blessing in disguise.) The spa also randomly shuts down and stops working repeatedly. It gives the error code END which is not mentioned in any online resources I can find. Their proper error codes are E01, E02, etc. if you google, but there is no help for why it says END. I have contacted the manufacturer. They want me to provide name, address, proof of purchase, photos of set up, photo and video of the error code, and for me to find some kind of ID code on either the handles or the bottom of the pump. They could just say "Oh, the code END shows up because blah blah blah, have you tried ___?" but no, they want to me to clear all these hurdles before they provide any help. I am so mad I waited too long and have now missed the return window on this. That said - when it works we LOVE the spa. The size is perfect for two people, it's lovely and hot, it's a great soaking tub. I think like the other reviewer in CA, I got a dud motor. ... show more
