  • Very Nice 300W power inverter
Color: Gray
Have only owned for a day. Ordered on 5/13/2020, received via Prime on 5/15/2020. So Amazon also gets 5 stars. The model# pictured (when zoomed in) is not exactly what I received, so assuming what I have is an updated model. Looks identical to the picture however. My model# is TIC1130B. Ordered the Gray model as it was only 23.99 compared to the Red which was 29.99 however units appear to be identical. The inverter seems very well built and durable with an aluminum case as advertised. Initially tried charging a laptop. This worked perfectly. Then added a phone using the USB power port, also perfect. What I have learned and tested: The USB Port is on as soon as unit it is plugged in, without the AC switch turned on. Noticed the Fan was not running initially with only laptop & phone plugged in so thought possibly a bad fan. Looked extensively and all information found said that as soon as AC switch is turned on, the fan would run continuously. As a last test, tried plugging in 2 lights with 75W bulbs to generate a load. Both light bulbs appeared to work at full brightness. And as soon as the second light was plugged in, the fan started to spin. Then with only 1 light plugged in, the fan decreased in speed. Note also that the fan was very quiet at both higher and lower speeds and seems to work as designed. Lastly tested AC Voltage and with no load, I measured 5V AC, which I found odd. Plugged in the light with a 75W bulb and measured the voltage on the prongs of the light plug and was pulling 120V. Apparently from the testing above this unit has smart tech built into it. At this point I am extremely pleased with the purchase of this inverter. The price makes it an even easier decision. ... show more

  • and cool factor. Its Illegal in a lot of states ...
I purchased this power inverter to add lights to the interior of my project car to help with both light, and cool factor. Its Illegal in a lot of states as to how the lights are presented incase of distracting other drivers. So I placed them under my rear seats, and along the edge of the floor boards nearest to the door, facing the feet of any passengers. I was presented with a problem though, to provide adequate power for the LED lights. They did not come with a dc adaptor so I purchased the inverter. It didn't work as well as I hoped, because what I really wanted was a second battery source. Separate from my battery so I wouldn't have to keep my car running to provide the power they needed, or accidentally drain the power by neglecting to turn them off or unplug them. However it works great for many other things, like powering my small flat top camping grill, friends hair product crap,(Camping has a different meaning to some people.) or even power tools on the go. Charging small 9v battery worked well. 18v, don't think it provides enough juice, or I'm impatient. Both are possible. So all in all, great product. Does what it says for a great price, feels sturdy, came in box intact no dents or dings. Arrived two days sooner than expected. The battery cables feel like stereo wire in heavy plastic with soft clips. Comes with threaded posts. The positive/Red removed easily, and tightened back down even easier. The Negative/Black was tight, and it seemed to want to cross thread every time I tried to screw it back down. Patience got me through this difficult 30 seconds of wasted time.. I gave this product only 4 stars, not because of the screw, but because I feel that it could have come with its own mounting screws. It has the legs, but just nothing to bolt it down with. I do have super glue, but I'm thinking a less permanent placement. I hope this helps, and I will update this review should the inverter give me any problems in the near future. only had it a week so far. Ordered it on the 2nd, received it on the 8th of March ... show more

  • A technical 350W review.
Awesome inverter. Packaging: Came in a fairly boring box, well packaged and wrapped. Build Quality: Seems very solid and well built. Has a nice weight to it. Seems like it can "take a hit". AC plugs are tight as are the USB ports. High quality alligator clamps and wires. (I didn't test the cigarette lighter). Love that it ha ring terminals so you can DIY your own wires and such. AC Inverter Usage: To test I went ahead and plugged in what I purchased a 400W inverter for. To run my 350W heat gun. I go to Burning Man and I bring the heat gun for shrink wrapping soldered wire. I connected volt meter to the terminals to watch the voltage as I did my load test. I plugged connected the ring terminals to the posts on the inverter, put the big alligator clips on my new flooded deep cycle 155Ah battery and switched it on. The fan came on instantly. It's not too loud and seems like a quality fan. You can definitely hear it though. I then plugged in the heat gun and switched it on. The green light on the inverter didn't dim or so much as flinch. The heat gun heated up just as fast as being plugged into mains. I watched the voltage drop from 13.6 or so (just took it off the charger) all the way down to about 12.1v under this load as I let the heat gun run for about 5 min. It stayed at 12.1v for the last min or so before I turned it off. Success! During the 5 min run time I think the fan slowed down a little bit in the inverter as it seemed like it spun back up a bit after I turned off the heat gun. I couldn't hear the inverter fan while the heat gun was running. The air the fan pushed out of the inverter never got warm, and the bottom of the inverter also never got warm. USB usage: This was a big surprise for me. The inverter doesn not have to be powered on for the USB ports to work. This is a HUGE plus for me. However, since the USB ports are ready to go even when the inverter is switched off, this means that it will draw a little bit of power from the battery even when it's not in use. This can be overcome with a high load switch or something. The unit has 4 USB ports. 2 of them are 2.1A one is "Auto" 0 to 2.1A and one is 1A. This totals 7.3A if they are all in use. This tells me that you can't plug even 3 devices into the unit and expect them to all work. You can probably do 2x 2.1A devices, and something in the 1A port or something in the "Auto" port and they should all work. But 4 devices at once may not work at all or it might give a little trickle to the "Auto" port. Another nice surprise was that this was able to charge my 8" Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2! This tablet is VERY picky about what it will charge off of. Oddly it would only charge the tablet off the "Auto" port. None of the other ones worked. My smart phone however didn't care what port it plugged into. They all would charge it. Bottom line, if you are looking for a inverter with USB ports that can run without the inverter being on, and at least a solid 350W of AC power, this one seems like the one to get. I think it's also wrapped up in an attractive and well built little box. A few notes: The USB ports also worked while the inverter was powered on. With my phone plugged into the 2.1A port sometimes when I plugged the tablet in to another port the phone would stop charging for a split second and then start again. I didn't try the USB ports while I had the heat gun running, but I would imagine it wouldn't be a problem. As long as the power source can handle the load. Thanks for reading. I hope you find this review helpful. ... show more
