This chair's overall cushioning is pleasantly firm without being overly soft. The backrest, in particular, is not too soft and provides a comfortable, supportive feel. The quality is excellent, and this purchase was a great choice. I highly recommend this item

Price doesn't reflect what you get from the chair... cushions are lacking comfort and can feel the metal frame through them. I had to put a small square pillow on the bottom cushion so my legs would not fall asleep due to the hardness in the edge of the chair where it scoops up.
