I bought this and it said it was a fit for my moms scooter and it did not, there was no receiving hitch for it, I even bought a hitch and it was so heavy it bent the hitch. I wish I could give it a zero

This electric scooter basket comes in its own cardboard box. The basket portion is one single piece that folds. There are additional parts for the bracket / brace to attach it to a mobility scooter. The instructions with this are not good. It's not very clear how to attach the basket to the brace which you would then attach to your scooter. Out of the box, paint was already chipping off in some areas. This is making me rethink using this for an e-scooter (this is designed for a mobility scooter). However the parts do feel very solid and I think would work well with a mobility scooter that would typically be kept out of the elements. ... show more

The basket itself seems very sturdy and will hold up over time. The instructions need a great deal of work. I'm not a person who learns well from one random picture without any words or anything step-by-step on it. I can't even see all of the parts or where to connect them. This isn't like the old wire basket I had on my bike. This thing is strong. The thin wires are over 1/8" thick, the rest 3/16". 7-1/2 pounds of metal, 4 more with the mounting hardware. The basket comes fully assembled, you just pull the sides up and into the clips. The only tool you need to attach the mounting hardware is a decently-sized Phillips screwdriver. I had to pry off a tiny stray bit of metal on one of the screw holes, no other issues. There aren't really instructions, only a diagram, but between that and the photos in the Amazon description, it's easy to see how it all goes. These baskets have to be strong, because they bounce around on rough terrain, along with whatever's in them. Bungee cords to keep things in place make good accessories. 16" wide mostly, 17-1/4" at the brackets near the bottom. 15-1/8" front to back, plus the mount. 14" high. Inside, it's 14-3/4" square. This adds 1-1/2 feet or more to the back of your ride when in use. When not in use, you can fold it back in and swing the mount up against the back of the chair, and it only adds a few inches back there. The included cover is woven fabric with waterproof backing. I ordered this basket hoping to put it on the back of my e-bike. It’s very easy to assemble and open. However, this basket is SUPER heavy. I couldn’t add it to my bike because it drained the battery too quickly. I cant imagine adding it to a scooter or something that you have to push yourself because it just adds too much effort. It’s unfortunate because the build feels very high quality I just wish it was more mobile friendly and not so heavy. Also the rain cover fits so tightly that it’s really hard to put on and remove. This is a very high quality rear basket. The hitch is advertised as being 1 inch and indeed it is 1 inch, so fits the receiver just fine. There is no assembly required, and the basket can be folded down again even after opening, and then hinged back toward the seat to reduce the amount it sticks out of the back when not needed.
