  • BenQ for the win!
Model: W2720i
Wow! Our Optoma projector broke down after 7 years so it was time for replacement. After looking at the bulky Epson we opted for this BenQ. Tech sure has come a long way in 7 years! We use this projector in a dedicated movie room and once I got it mounted the set up was incredible. The biggest issue I had previously was lining up the projector on our 120” fixed screen. I was constantly adjusting the keystones and manually moving the projector to try and square it up on all 4 corners. Well, the BenQ fixed that issue! Upon set up it instructs you to oversize the picture then allow the tech to automatically snap the corners to each end of the screen maximizing picture and putting it perfectly into each corner. 🙌🏼 Of course the picture is great. You can read plenty about the quality elsewhere.. ... show more

  • Great projector for the price

  • Excellent quality, brightness, and the occasional knocking sound
Model: W4100i
The picture quality of this projector is top notch: no laser speckle on my screen made it an outstanding performer visually. Display brightness is excellent, and it was easy to set up. I purchased it in the hopes I could leverage it for widescreen (2.4:1) content as the manual states it is possible. While I was able to get the picture dialed in on my AppleTV 4K, other apps don't support zooming in software on this projector, and I wasn't going to try to manually adjust the optical zoom every time there's a different format of content on screen. I returned it but only because of my configuration and a lack of customizability in software. It also makes kind of a loud knocking sound when changing content resolution that is a little disconcerting, but doesn't impact the performance otherwise. ... show more

  • Wonderful upgrade over my BenQ 3550
Model: W2720i
The 3550 was a 4K pixel shift projector just like this one. It was in the $1500 range. It was a lamp based unit. What this unit gives you over the 3550 is, better colors, better HDR, and better dynamic contrast. 4K movies definitely have a little bit more "pop" to them. And while projectors will never compete with OLEDS in dark scenes. The contrast in dark scenes on this is good. There is one element where this projector is weak. And this is, if the scene is almost completely dark. As opposed to say, a night time scene but where there are neon lights or flashlights. In scenes like those, this projector looks great with the HDR bright highlights. But in almost completely dark scenes, the entire scene just looks "dim". But that is really the only negative I can think of. I've tested the 3D, and the brightness is really good even when wearing active 3D glasses. The 3D is flawless with no ghosting, and good brightness and color. And as said before, the HDR and color is very good. Please consider trying the "AI Theater" mode. There was a scene in Dune Part 2, where I switched back and forth between my custom settings and AI mode. And suddenly the orange color of the sand just looked so beautiful and vibrant in the AI mode. This is definitely work the price if you are new to projectors or upgrading from a cheaper BenQ model. It has almost the same throw ratio so you can put it up on the same ceiling mount you already have, if you were using a 2060, 3060, or 3550. I would consider this an "intermediate" projector. Definitely better than budget entry levels, and a nice compromise between budget or going all out on a high end. I've been watching so many movies and appreciating them more, after I installed this. ... show more

  • The color is amazing!
Model: W2720i
So this is our third BenQ projector, last year for Father’s Day and for my sister‘s birthday I each got them a projector of their own and this year for my birthday they bought me one for my living room, and they bought me one of the nicest ones because I took pictures of it and I showed it to my friends and they’re like oh nice you got a new TV and they were shocked when I told them it was a projector because of how good the color quality is and what’s even better is that the sound quality was also amazing! The quality of this projector definitely mirrors a high-end TV and what I love about it is that the space that it takes up is so minimal and the functionality behind it is so easy to use if you read the instructions correctly lol also looking at the price I’d have to say that it is definitely a great value for the money you spend because the quality is better than an actual movie theater. The colors are deeper and richer and my sister and I are big anime watchers and a lot of the animes tend to have a lot of dark colors and them so it’s hard to see the details on the TV but with the projector I was able to see all the details and see things that I didn’t notice were there before because of how dark it was on my television. ... show more
