  • Great price, Great value for under $600
I bought this projector a few months ago I've had BenQ products before and like the quality of them my last projector was a viewsonic and it died in a storm so I did research and ended up getting the BenQ GP20 and so far love it if your worried about the lumens I can watch tv with the lights on and my lights are bright but still washes out some great in a dark room color is awsome even when on eco mode which I keep it on it has a 100,000:1 contrast and it's 700 lumens it is small and portable so you can take it anywhere you want and set up dosent use the regular projector style mount it's more of a camera tripod mount which I just got a security camera mount and works perfect have it having on the ceiling it is short throw at about 3.3ft from screen makes a 40" screen I have it projecting a 108" and still looks perfect can't beat the price for what it does as I tell all my friends why pay 500 bucks for a 50" when I paid the same price and have a 108" there are some draw backs in quality vs a regular tv but doesn't bother me once you make a bigger screen you don't want to go back makes my 50" in living room feel to small now might have to get another projector ... show more

  • No Buyer's Remorse
This is the first projector I've owned. After spending the past weekend testing it out, I have absolutely no remorse on the purchase. The projector is much brighter than I thought it would be; I could even use it during the day (granted, there wasn't much sun but there was enough light coming through the windows to brighten up the room). I essentially used it as my main computer monitor for the weekend and have seriously considered using it as my main monitor (the LED lifespan makes this a possibility). I also projected it on a blank yellowish wall rather than a legit screen and am content with the results so far. A few things to note - the wireless feature uses a wifi dongle; maybe I'm missing something but I don't think there's a way to connect to the projector without losing internet access. For the price, was more than worth it. ... show more

Color is great. Brightness cannot compare as it is only 700 lumens. Heavier unit if you travel with other stuff in our brief case?, very slow remote and manual entry. Hope that is an update on the software? Can anyone tell me if and where can I update the unit software? It has great features: wifi, usb, full HDMI input, speaker, It is not as user friendly great bulb life in the 20,000 hr. range!, Love the tripod mount which I used it with a camera tripod so it can be place anywhere in a crowded hall or room. I read that it does not project MP4 video? ... show more

  • Fan is very noisy
Great picture quality and brightness however the fan is extremely noisy. I have a surround 5.1 channel home theater and even with the volume turned up half way the fan in the projector is makes enough noise to be heard. Not only is the fan loud but it varies in speed so you can't get used to the buzz it makes. I've only used it for gaming, so I'm not sure if this only applies to games, but since that is almost the only thing I use it for I'm rating it based on this experience. ... show more

Let me get straight into what I like and what I don't like What I like-- The picture quality is good with colours looking good Options for wall color Little ambient light is no problem for this Wish it wasn't-- The fan noise is a slight distraction. But fan noise reduces, once it is playing a source. I don't know the reason behind this. It is slightly bulky when compared to my other LED projectors I had in the past. Media player didn't play mp4 format. ... show more

  • Alternate to Large TVs
I bought this Projector instead of buying a big LED TV. I did not go wrong. Pros: Its very compact. It does not take much space. Even when its near the wall, we can see the larger projection. Few of the projectors does not have this feature. Since its LED, the life of the light bulbs are longer hence greater life time. Cons: 700 Lumen is bit less compared to other projectors in market. But its a personal choice. ... show more

  • VERY NICE PROJECTOR IF AT THE RIGHT PRICE!!!
I got it for under $400 via Amazon Warehouse Deals & am very satisfied with my purchase. Its my first projector & really don't have anything to compare it to but definitely like projection more than tv now. The only thing I've seen that seems to be of concern to some people is an occasional rainbow affect during mostly non-HD content. ... show more
